But the smarter (and wrong) answer is that Iron Man's armor isn't actually made of iron, it's made of a non-magnetic gold-titanium alloy.

But then the smartest and true answer is that Magneto beats Tony easily because Tony has metal shrapnel in his bloodstream that he needs a powerful electromagnet to stop from reaching his heart.
