Intrusion
A baritone voice called out in the darkness.
“Did you think I wouldn’t notice you sneaking out?”
The heavy doors slammed shut, the impact echoing throughout the mansion.
A single candle flickered to life.
In an ocean of the remaining shadows, a tall silhouette of a young man appeared. He strode nearer to the light, his footsteps disturbing the silence.
As he came closer, his sharp, well-toned face was revealed, along with a pair of curled sideburns. His obsidian eyes stared down at a small figure that lay trembling at his feet.
Reborn was the young man’s name, a well-known heir to a successful company; made famous by his handsome Italian features, his efficiency, skill, and intelligence, as well as his charming personality.
But right this moment, you might as well say that he was a creature akin to the devil: A beastly wolf ready to pounce on his prey and devour it.
Reborn knelt down, ending up face-to-face with the puny figure. He stared deep into the other’s eyes, as if he was reading the very soul of the figure. His prey whimpered.
“Don’t you think you were being too friendly with them, perhaps?” The Italian said in a sickly sweet voice.
In a swift motion, Reborn grasped his prey, pinning them down to the icy-cold wooden floor. Another whimper escaped his prey’s lips as Reborn sharpened the glare of his obsidian eyes.
“I don’t fancy you being touched by them.” His breath tickled the other’s ear as he regarded them with disgust, “I just can’t stand the way they look at you.”
Beside the predator and his prey, the candle light flickered weakly. A voice called out from outside the room, coming dangerously close to where the pair were. However, Reborn made no move to show that he acknowledged the existence of the newcomer.
“That man from the house next door, Yamamoto Takeshi, was it? You’ve been awfully close to him these past few days,” The Italian smirked, “He already has one himself, you know. All that time you spent with him meant nothing to him. You meant nothing to him; you were just something on the side as his affection for you were simply because he was bored.”
Little by little, Reborn’s body loomed completely over the other. Engulfing him, drowning him.
At long last, the door to the room creaked open, light flooded the previously candle -lit room. With his hand keeping the door wide open, a young man with brown, gravity-defying hair sauntered in. Reborn annoyingly stared at his visitor and loosened his grip on his prey.
With his predator occupied, the prisoner was able to wiggle out of Reborn’s grasp and desperately ran towards the brown-haired individual.
The Italian let out a desperate gasp.
“NO!” He shouted after the fleeing figure, “Come back!”
Reborn’s voice trembled as the other man picked up the tiny figure and held him in his arms.
“Don’t you dare leave me!″ Reborn announced, frantic, “You can’t leave me–You couldn’t live without me!”
Desperation clawed at his throat.
“You belong to me!”
The newcomer smiled.
“How shameful, Reborn,” he said, victory rolling off of each and every word, “Perhaps you’ve lost your charm?”
With a tired sigh, the Italian pouted,
“It can’t be helped,” Reborn accusingly pointed a finger towards the creature in the other’s arms, “Natsu was cheating on me.”
A colorful laugh bubbled from the other man. He glanced at the small figure who let out a soft growl of content.
“I didn’t think you would be that jealous of Natsu, though,” He flicked open the lights in the room and walked closer to Reborn, “I mean, you don’t even get jealous over strangers who fawn over me.” He said, disappointed.
Reborn looked away in embarrassment, heat rose to his face. The Italian clicked his tongue.
“You heard that?”
“Oho? Is the mighty Reborn, the lucky fiancé of the one and only Sawada Tsunayoshi and the heir of the greatest Sicilian corporation, embarrassed?”
The other continued in his sing-song voice, “Unbelievable! Is this actually, truly happening?”
He twirled around the room, Natsu still in his arms.
“Oh! the whole wide world shall be informed of this rare feat!” Another laugh.
Reborn’s head perked up, his eyes glaring.
“Tsuna, I swear to God, if you dare–”
“Well, Natsu, how shall we announce our rare discovery?” Tsuna interrupted, the orange lion cub in his arms offered a cheerful growl in response.
Tsuna gave Reborn a knowing smirk before quickly running out of the room, his mind racing on how much money Mammon would be willing to give for this valuable piece of information.
