Girlfriend won't stop point-and-clickmaxxing. Saying shit like "keys! I can use these!" And walking up to doors and announcing "it's locked." without touching the knob
i hate how much ai has taken the joy out of seeing something cool. you used to see something cool, like a really intricate drawing or a video of someone doing an insane skill or two animals doing something cute, and because there were no mental gymnastics involved in discerning whether or not it was 'real' you could sit there and have the joy of like, "wow! how did they do that! how cool is it that they made that! what a wonderful moment to have captured!" and now every time i see something remarkable i hate that i have to sit there and be like okay let me go frame by frame to make sure everything lines up. let me double check the page this comes from. let me scroll through the comments to make sure no one called out something i missed. like i want the joy of being able to trust someone else's creation back, please
The problem with discovering stuff about your ocs as you write them is that eventually you start to figure out more about how they think and behave, and it just naturally diverges from your original material to the point that the first stuff you wrote doesn't even feel like the same character. Like fuck I have to retcon some shit.
morning
okay so anyone who follows me knows I am always always always bitching about artists depictions of trans women but like holy shiiiit this is REALLY good. Like soooo much art that isnt by trans women fall into two camps of "draw a cis woman and later say shes trans" or "draw the most virulently transmisogynistic caricature possible" but this piece is just so..... real? Like, there are real actual trans women who look like this for once in a billion years. this kicks ass
took a nap on my pet bed and apparently ive been playing roo much risk of rain 2. i tried recreating the item i found in my dream
"warm, shallow seas" is one of the most beautiful phrases in paleontology and it's everywhere... these mollusks lived in warm, shallow seas... scientists think that photosynthetic life evolved in warm, shallow seas... in that era the Earth was covered by warm, shallow seas...
I wish I was resting by an antediluvian warm, shallow sea
I have wanted to wade in these warm, shallow seas since I was a kid.
So many ads are just “we at corporation care about our customers which is why we [thing we are legally obligated to do]”
I think about this so much more after working at a call center and being told “you need to not say outage unless we actually have a confirmed outage because we legally have to reimburse people if we fail to provide service” and then seeing that in ads as a really cool and nice thing the company does instead of something they’re forced to
I think about this like once a day
I have heard a variant on it that I really like: "You cannot hate yourself into someone you can love."
Was trying to make a joke about TV writing to my friend the other day and had to pause and go "...does the phrase 'surf dracula' mean anything to you?"
One of the most important critical texts of this century imo
image description: tweet by @/topherflorence, reading: back in the day if u did a tv show called surf dracula you'd see that fool surfing every week in new adventures but in the streaming era the entire 1st season gotta be a long ass flashback to how he got the surfboard until you finally get to see him surf for 5 min in the finale /end description
> “mannish features”
> look inside
> literally just common physical traits among women of colour
you can’t separate transmisogyny from racism. the radical feminism movement is so overwhelmingly white because their idea of what a woman is is so thoroughly steeped in white supremacy.
You can’t separate transmisogyny from racism. Very important to remember

Hi. Can we talk more about how awful the horror industry is? I feel like I'm talking to a wall trying to voice how awful it is
We could talk about how the horror industry has a tendency to create disabled antagonists for no reason other then "ooh how terrifying is it that someone's disfigured" or "doesnt it creep you out how someone so normal looking can be so insane on the inside" which already is ablest as hell but actually has historically harmed disabled people.
Or we could talk about how most victims in these movies are women for no other reason than to show women being the victims to, crimes done by a disabled man [which not only is pushing the idea that women are frail and should be victims but also creates this idea that any disabled man is going to hurt an able-bodied neurotypical women]
Or we could talk about how many horror movies just use the plot of "mentally disabled person hurts others and nuerotypical hero saves the day" which is yet another way society convinces people that anyone who's mentally disabled is a threat [we coukd even talk about how that idea makes it just that much easier for people to get away with brutalizing mentally disabled people if you want to get into it]
Or we could even just talk about how the horŕor industry has caused so many people to fear disabled people when, for one they themselves are more likely to be hurt by a neurotypical able-bodied person then anyone disabled, but also, a disabled person is more likely to be hurt then them
