I feel like Neil and Andrew wouldnât get married until it became an issue that they werenât married.
Like, Neil is in the hospital (because heâs an idiot) and Andrew storms in and demands to know what room heâs in because heâs actually going to strangle him this time but the nurse refuses to give him any information since heâs not related to Neil. Andrew tries just standing there with his âIâm going to kill you if you donât give me what I wantâ face until she gave in but nurses do not give a fuck and she just says sheâll call security if Andrew doesnât move and he decided getting arrested for beating up security guards is not the solution to this particular problem. (Progress!)
So when Neil gets out of the hospital a few hours later thereâs a box with two matching rings inside it on the passenger seat and Neil is like â???â And Andrew just starts driving and he drives them to a courthouse and Neil is like, rings⌠courthouse⌠âAre we getting married?â And Andrew just gets out of the car and starts walking and Neil gets out and catches up to him and goes âIs this your way of proposing to me?â â238%â and Neil laughs. (Kevin is the witness, Andrew called him after he found out Neil would be released soon and told him to be at the courthouse in 20 minutes) (Kevin protested because he was practicing) (Andrew threatened to light every exy stick he owned on fire if he wasnât there in 20 minutes) (Kevin was at the courthouse in 15 minutes).
So they get married but Neil is kinda concerned because he canât wear his ring while heâs playing or practicing, which is like 80% of what Neil does, and heâs worried heâs gonna lose it and he doesnât want to lose it because itâs important. And then one day he comes out of practice to find his ring where he left it in his bag except now itâs on a simple silver chain and he looks over to Andrew whoâs changing out of his gear and he sees Andrewâs ring on a chain around his neck and Neil just smiles and puts the chain on but he never says anything about it and neither does Andrew.
When the rest of the foxes find out there is hell to pay (Except Kevin). Itâs at one of their annual get togethers and Katelyn is showing the girls her engagement ring because Aaron may be a dick but he is sappy as fuck for Katelyn and Allison makes an off hand comment to Neil like âWe should start a bet on who proposes between those two first.â And they all laugh and start debating it and then Neil speaks up and says âAndrew did.â And they all turn to him and are like,,, he what. And then they have the following conversation:
Dan: You guys are engaged?!
Neil: No.
Matt: But you just said-
Neil: Weâre married.
Nicky: YOUâRE WHAT
And Nicky is upset because how dare they get married without him there, and Allison is upset because how dare they get married and not let her plan it. And Neil just looks at Andrew like, why are they upset Iâm confused and Andrew doesnât even look at him heâs just staring out the window look incredibly bored with this entire conversation. Theyâre all confused when Neil explains that they only got married for legal reasons really and Aaron says âat least now if Josten dies all his money will go to Andrew,â and Andrew gives his twin a look that is clearly a warning and Aaron just smirks because he knows it means âdonât talk about him dying thatâs not funnyâ. Aaron gets that look a lot.
And Andrew and Neil are happily married and the media never really finds out although they speculate that Neil and Andrew has a secret wedding and then went on a secret honeymoon to Hawaii and Neil laughs so hard at that because they didnât mean for it to be a secret they just never felt the need to tell anyone. But Neil canât deny that every time he feels the ring against his chest or sees it dangling around Andrewâs neck he feels a little rush of warmth because itâs a reminder that Andrew has decided that this is permanent and for a man whoâs lived his whole life on the run and another man who bounced from miserable foster home to miserable foster home, they both know how important promising permanency is.
Not to be dramatic or anything but I finished ALL FOR THE GAME trilogy and now I don't know what to do or how to feel.
Do I wanna Cry
Re-read it
Or just lay down and question my existence and inability to savor a good book

HELLO??????
You know what I really like about Alex from Julie and the Phantoms?
He wasnât a gay stereotype TV always have.
The way he dresses isn't flamboyant like other TV show gays. He had the same fashion as the other phantoms. He just looked like a 90s grunge/punk teenage boy.
He didn't talk in that one accent almost all TV show gays share.
The only thing kinda stereotypical he did was the dancing.
And even his sassy remarks came off as more sarcastic and chill.
Then how we find out. The guys already know. There's not a big reveal or coming out scene. Just Alex is gay. The fact that it was even SAID. It wasn't just subtext, we didn't have to guess or assume. They say it outloud. "Gay" wasn't used as a bad word in a kids show. It was just a fact about him.
Even the "Alex is emotional" joke doesn't seem like a hurtful stereotype. The joke at first is Alex cries sure but then the very next scene it shows Luke & Reggie crying and he calls them emotional.
And everything with Willie. Its so relaxed and easy. There is no crisis. No I like a straight guy who turns out to hate me when I come out. No unnecessary homophobic scene. They are also both dead already so we don't even have to deal with that "all gay couples end in tragedy" thing either. It's clearly mutual.
Its so obvious they like each other too. I mean the museum date?
How Willie always grabs Alex's hand.
The "There's a lot to um... like here" while giving the đ eyes.
The "I'd do anything for you" departure before that HUG.
Even when Luke finds out he has a crush. Its just a best friend teasing not a making fun of a gay kid. The "I'm happy for you Alex."
I just really loved this gay representation & think we need more like it.
PS: flamboyant gay guys are 100% valid I just think diversity is important for LGBTQ+ Rep.
Some pictures I found from the concert I went to way back when. Thought you might like to relive it with me.
hot take: jake peralta is bi and john mulaney plays his ex boyfriend from high school in season six of brooklyn nine-nine
john mulaney plays a rockinâ twink
John Mulaney:Â *to himself*Â What would Leonard Bernstein do?
Captain Holt: *to Jake, quietly* I support your and Amyâs relationship with my whole heart but why on earth would you give up a man like that
I donât even go here (just like⌠my toes) and I want this, specifically with all these tages from @bosstoaster
#The episode would be Amy getting jealous not of John and Jake but that he has so many interests in common with Holt#So she spends the whole time trying to win back the Captain#Meanwhile Rosa is on a warpath at Jake#Because she told HIM about her sexuality and stuff and had EMOTIONS#And he didnât tell HER#How DARE he
âlook, itâs not like i hid anything, it just never came up!âÂ
âYou called yourself out for âstraighsplainingââÂ
the whole bi thing goes completely over charlesâ head and he keeps getting really aggro like âoh you and jake were real close huh?? too bad, sucker jake is MY best friend!âÂ
everybody else is like âcharles noâÂ
at the end john mulaney turns out to be the embezzler theyâve been looking for
The only way Jake Overshare Peralta, Jake TMI Peralta, Jake Heart-On-His-Sleeve Peralta would fail to bring up the fact that he is bi, is if he himself were oblivious to the fact.Â
Come on @morthils this isnât Gina Linetti weâre talking about. Stay in character.
The only way Jake would have had a high school boyfriend and not told Amy and Holt is if Jake himself did not realize that this dude was his boyfriend.
He would describe the relationship to Amy and sheâd be like, âSo you guys were datingâ and heâd be like âIt wasnât like that thatâ and sheâd be like:
:|
and Jake would be like, OH MY GOD. I HAD A BOYFRIEND IN HIGH SCHOOL. WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THIS.
Lots of âpractice kissingâ was involved.
Jakeâs mom is absolutely That Overly Supportive Parent with the bumper sticker and the flag who never actually like, talks to her son about it.
âI just thought she was really liberal!â
