Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince has to be the most lyrically complex song that @taylorswift has ever written. It has AT LEAST 3 different levels of interpretation to it (that I found). You can take it at face value, and it is the story of a girl and her boyfriend in highschool, but if you dig a little deeper other meanings start to emerge.

One interpretation is the political one: the song talks about the United States and their political landscape at this time, the 2016 election, her disappointment with what’s going on in her country, the hope that things can change. 

But I think it can also be interpreted as talking about what happened to her in 2016 personally: the whole Kanye debacle and the take down culture that “canceled” her (she’s a bad bad girl), and how she run away from the spotlight and her haters.

This is all to say: I AM IN AWE OF TAYLOR’S LYRICAL GENIUS IN THIS SONG AND I BOW TO THE MASTER, Taylor really is “The Man”!
