child Cedric randomly saying "fuck" after he learnt it from Prototype.

Cedric isn't allowed to hang out with Proto anymore.

Pfffff, ok I can see it.

Cedric is a bit reclusive so he wouldn't be as exposed as other kids his age.

Cedric heard it from him, and when asked about it Proto just said "I am not allowed to answer".

Cedric would go around pointing to stuff like "is this a fuck?" to try and make him answer. He would just say no.

Cedric even asked some of his father's acquaintances, but didn't get an answer either.

Eventually Cedric asked his father about it while he was tinkering with some computers and he stopped everything to look at him and say something like "where did you hear that word?"

Cedric points to Proto who's minding his business. The Author goes "where did YOU hear that word?"

"Some of your books include it."

"FATHER KNOWS WHAT 'FUCK' IS?!" Cedric starts losing it.

His father just sighs: "It's an expletive of high caliber, you're too young to use it properly. Please do not say it, and I will explain it to you in your next birthday." Then adds: "Prototype, please do not say that word in front of him ever again."

"Understood."

.....

Later on, Rue finds Cedric pouting with arms crossed and when she hears what happened, she spends time with him and teaches him other, more fun expressions and his speech patterns become a lot more creative.

Rue can swear in front of them now, they're all adults, but she refuses because she wants to set a good example. Cedric still doesn't swear in front of his siblings because he is nicer than that. Proto read through a whole dictionary of homophones looking for swear words. He gained knowledge.
