You Stupid Bitch from Crazy Ex Girlfriend is great for putting things in perspective because it's like well I think Rebecca is being too hard on herself, and she just broke into her ex's apartment to delete a text from his phone and then convinced him that actually she was the victim of a break in by roping her codependent friend into throwing a rock through her glass doors. So if I haven't done anything worse than that maybe relating to this also means I'm being too harsh on myself.

It's really fucked up how Christianity teaches that some people can only be reached for Christ when they hit rock bottom. Christians will pray for people to endure tremendous suffering simply so that the non-believers can hear the voice of god. Truly an abysmal failure in imagining a loving god.
"he's so loving because he caused me to experience the greatest pain of my life so that I could finally listen to him"
Absolutely insane move on the part of an all powerful, all knowing, all loving deity. You're telling me the ONLY WAY was the road of agony? Unrelenting love, kindness, and divine revelation weren't options?
Look, we joke a lot, but really, "you were born evil, wretched, worse than the scum of the earth, and it took killing a god to make you salvageable, so now you'd better be grateful to that god and thank him 10,000 times a day for it and fill your thoughts with him 24/7 and abide by the letter of his every word, lest you suffer unimaginable torture for all of eternity" is a truly horrendous thing to believe about yourself and other people
I hope Neil Gaiman knows that even if the extremely flawed justice system finds him not-guilty and he decides to rear his ugly head back here, at least one corner of this site is not letting it go. He's a rapist by his own admission of what happened.
Me: God a back to the future musical?? When will theatre make original content again??
Back to The Future Musical: “Use you miiiIIIiind. You gotta just promise me I’ll be back 👏🏾 in 👏🏾 tiIIiime👏🏾”

Broadway Café (Rainy Day Reprise): it’s been a while since I made the original playlist with this concept, but I often find myself writing down new songs to include. Because, really: Doesn’t it seem ideal? A rainy afternoon in a charming café, surroanded by books and the smell of coffee and baked goods, a playlist like this in the background, with the soft showtunes and ballads, powerful overtures, a little bit of jazz, and some songs that seem specificaly chosen to make you raise your head from the book you’re reading, look out the window and daydream. It’s like pieces falling into place, who knows, maybe I’ll end up owning a place like this someday, wouldn’t it be loverly? (Bad pun, good playlist.) Enjoy! (x)
For Those Saying Tootsie is Transphobic
A few months back, while Tootsie was Off-Broadway in Chicago, I went to go watch it. While I’ll try not to spoil anything, I’m here to say that this new musical production is NOT transphobic. Tootsie is simply the story of a stubborn actor who lied his way to fame. Throughout no part in the production was there even a single mention of transgender people nor the transgender community. Not one drop of hate was directed at the community. The main character, Micheal Dorsey crossdresses in order to get an audition. The only negative reactions from the other characters to this are being weirded out and betrayal, not out of shame for gender expression, but instead from actually being betrayed and lied to by Micheal. The theme of the musical is “lies may help you now but can harm you later”. The new production was NEVER intended to be transphobic. If one piece of merch happened to be interpreted as that and they apologized and took it down, they care about their audience and listen to them. They’re not about to wave around and draw attention to that piece of merch just for the attention. They respectfully took it down after listening to their audience, which is a proper and mature way to handle the situation. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
