Ok, this one pisses me off more than all the other posts about this godforsaken joke, not just because of the obvious “They weren’t developing KH3 the minute 2 was released” issue but because now you’re joking as if even SE legitimizes this viewpoint even though they would be the first to tell you that you’ve technically been waiting 6 years for Kigndom Hearts 3 since production of it started in 2013. Kingdom Hearts 3 from an “in development” phase was never on the fucking table until 2013. I know it’s just a stupid joke but god fucking damn if this one doesn’t piss me off more than all the others. I guess all the games between 2 and 3 just weren’t a thing you fucking dolt.

I don’t know, maybe the same people who won’t tell you about Days, Birth By Sleep, coded, Dream Drop Distance and Chi. My issue isn’t that the gap between 2 and 3 is 13 years, it’s that it puts across this idea that the only games worth giving a shit about are the numbered ones and anything else isn’t really worth considering or are just pushing the release of 3 back further and further. It also shows a level of impatience on the fandom, you can joke about how you’ve been super patient about waiting for this game but if this joke is anything to go by, you’ve been anything but. Just 3 years ago, we had the “I’ve been waiting 10 years for this game” nonsense and so this is just that still going, there are people who act as if they are owed this game or that Square Enix is deliberately punishing them for some reason by pushing the release back. I even got into an argument about a year ago with someone who told me that there was proof that the game had been in development since 2007 (proof they never showed me btw). I guess my issue is that this form of “patience” that the fandom is claiming they have is more like a Veruca Salt mentality, they want this game NOW and until they get it, they’re going to be passive aggressively bitchy about it. When you have to see the “I’ve been waiting X amount of years for KH3″ joke every day for let’s say 4 years now, it gets kind of irritating.
