Since this is my current top post I thought I’d add some extra info I came across: This is known as the Majapahit Piggy Bank (Circa 15th Century) - The animal depicted is technically not a pig but the Javanese celeng, a small, swayed-back, black-skinned wild boar. Some theories suggest this design was exported from Indonesia to Europe, but that isn’t likely.
