i don't know if i can suggest otherkin feels, but if i can, could you please write one about the gates of hell (i'm demonkin from hell), eyes that look like they're made of ember and regretful sinners ? i'm getting serious memories related to those three things, so seeing them put into writing would be fantastic !! thanks <3

missing otherkin feels + a more serious topic

hey guys! :) i’d like to apologize in advance because this post is a little less happy than i’d like it to be. if you’re looking for light-hearted vibes, i urge you not to read this. i’ll try my best to bury it in happier posts. i promise.

you may have noticed that roughly every Tuesday (or monday night), a new “otherkin feels” submission is up. you may have also noticed that last Tuesday (yesterday, my time) there was no new submission. I’d like to, first, apologize for that, and second, explain why it happened and address something a bit serious. 

But before I do any of that, and before we delve into the serious stuff, I’d like to say this: I hope you all are having a great week, and if not, keep your head up! remember that someone believes in you <3                       Now, I apologize for not putting up a new otherkin feels, which would’ve been #6; but rest assured there will be a new one next Tuesday.             This happened because, recently, I was sent quite the hateful message, and I’ll admit that it sort of dampened my spirits. I was totally in the mood to write the next o.f. , but this message ruined that, and suddenly I didn’t feel like doing much of anything. It made me feel really bad, but I hadn’t done anything wrong, nor had I ever contacted or interacted with the person who sent me the message. I couldn’t understand why they said those things to me, which I will only restate once, and only two parts of the message. Simply put, it was meaningless hate.                                                 To address the people who send these kinds of messages, who tell young kids and older people alike, otherkin or not, to (*TRIGGER WARNING*) “kys”, and “burn in h*ll” just because of what they believe in or who they are: 

We have feelings too, and we can hurt as much as you. We cry just as you do. We’re living beings, we have value. Please stop acting like we don’t. we’re not made of stone. words hurt.

I think you might be mixing me up with other blogs! I’ve never said that all otherkin are a certain thing or another. I’m not hating on other blogs whn I say this, though— they’re just talking about otherkin on tumblr in general, I think! I’m not sure, but I’m sure they have reasons/good experiences with other otherkin and therians to say such things! :)

No, I’m not “actually retarded”. This is actually retarded: http://actuallyretarded-blog.tumblr.com/ and they have some aestethically pleasing images on their blog, so if you’re looking for them, there they are! :)

I cannot, in fact, as I said earlier, say for certain that all otherkin are kind little angels. Although— I CAN say that some otherkin WERE kind little angels. ;)

How do you handle anti-otherkin? I'm trying to explain to someone who doesn't like me as an otherkin why I believe what I believe.

when people think /they/ need to have an explanation as to why /I/ believe in something, I don’t bother giving them one. :)

for me, being therian is completely a personal belief, and for me to feel otherkin validity, i need about 0 people to understand my beliefs. nobody has to understand my thinking. i brush off anti- otherkin easily because i believe what I believe, and i’m not trying to force them to agree with me. you are you and that should be enough for them. <33

How Otherkin “should” act?

Quotation marks were typed because I don’t think that there is really a way that anyone should /have/ to act.

anyway, onto the subject of this post.

Many people think that it’s not civil, or that it’s strange to act like your kintype/theriotype in public; even on some forums with Otherkin threads, it’s frowned upon. People say you shouldn’t wear a tail or ears, or a collar, or anything relationg to your kintype for that matter; they say anything of that sort should stay inside the house, I suppose. 

I’m not really sure if I completely disagree or agree, but I don’t think that you should have to fit in either. I don’t think you should become completely out of touch with your kin/theriotype just because of what other people might think of you!  

Mostly, I try to fit in when I’m in areas with tons of people. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really like to stand out that much among a crowd by wearing a cat’s tail or something.

But that’s not to say– don’t think it- that you’re weird or anything if you do wear any accessories! A lot of times I find them really cute and if they help you feel connected to your kin, who can put you down? Not me.

If you’ve got it, why not flaunt it? Keep wagging your tails!

hello! i’m your friendly neighborhood catkin. i’m quite friendly and i try to show respect for everyone’s opinions and beliefs; nobody should hate each other for no (really good) reason, i believe! and so, this blog is one of positivity— i’m going to be trying to keep good vibes around here! 

most likely, hate asks will not be answered, if i think that people viewing my blog will be offended by them. but if you’re not being too hurtful, i’ll probably just try to explain my reasons for doing whatever you have a problem with. does that make sense? if it doesn’t, doesn’t matter. just don’t send hate lol

so i’m mostly going to be posting my opinions on things, and creating moodboards (requests are open!) and sharing art. i hope you enjoy your time on my small blog! i’ll enjoy having you here.
