Picking Herbs || Micah & Violet
"U-Um…i-if you need any herbs…t-then you can take some more…" Violet asked nervously as she offered the basket to Micah. Even though he had taken the antidote, it didn’t really seem to really lighten up on his system with how he was doing. That was worrying…she thought that none of the stronger monsters were in the area…that they were only found deeper in the forest and in the ruins. Maybe she had heard wrong…
"L-Let’s go…" Violet hesitantly spoke before retracing their steps towards the castle. She hoped that she was heading in the right direction…she didn’t want to get lost, especially with Micah in his condition. Her pace was slow, so Micah would be able to keep up with her.
Micah shook his head, and looked down. "N-No need...I think." he said staggering a bit as he pushed the basket away lightly, thinking the nurse needed it more than him apparently. He felt a sharp pain on his wound as he moved, even the slightest. That was worrying, rather, almost confusing. Was there a stronger monster in those bunch? Everything happened so fast, he didn't see. And the monsters disappeared to the Forest of beginnings much more faster than the fight, so of course he didn't have time to check it all. He was also focused on protecting Violet, than to notice what he was fighting.
"R-right..." was all he could utter, scared of coughing up more blood and worrying the girl again. He walked, no limped slowly just behind the girl. He knows that they didn't wander THAT far anyways. And that monsters here would now just range from harmful woolies and pomme pommes. He coughed again, into his hand, another batch of blood splotches. "..Damn..." he said in a hushed tone.
TOP SECRET || Riley & Micah
" ‘S alright," Riley spoke with a smirk as he twirled the hat around in his hands, "Was wonderin’ fer a bit if ya ditched me." The hunter looked curiously at the bottle that the younger blonde had brought. He wondered if that was stuff that could heal his burn scars. It would be nice if he didn’t have to wear gloves all the time. He wasn’t about to get his hopes up, though.
"Ah, this?" Riley spoke as he held up the hat before giving a triumphant smile, "Funny thing. Little after ya left, that wooly appeared. Tried to catch it, but I ended up getting this while I was chasin’ it. This from the one you were askin’ ‘bout, right?" The hunter offered it to Micah with a smile on his face.
"i'd never do that!" Micah said as he chuckled. "Would never do that to someone nice." He said scratching his cheek lightly as he kicked a pebble from the ground. Remembering the small bottle, he held it out to the man. 'Here you go by the way!" He said with a kind smile. "Just a drop and it'll disappear! No side effects." He said with a chuckle. "Well, not this one...The one i took was from her grand daughter and that one was..." He shuddered as he imagined it again. Then shook his ehad getting it out of his system. "Well..That, but! I assure you this ones safe." he said as he gave it to him.
Micah with shaking hands took it from the hunter and nodded. "A-ah i see..." He said lightly. "A-ah well, y-yeah... Y-Y'know that wooly kind of hates me, i think...I-I was trying to catch it for it's wool so...Yeah...I-it probably does." He said scratching the back of his head. Sorry for the lie Riley. He thought as he placed the hat in his rucksack.
TOP SECRET || Riley & Micah
"Ugh," Riley flinched when the wooly went to kick him. Though the kick was harmless, feeling more like a light shove than a kick, the hunter couldn’t help but curse when he saw the wooly vanish into the forest. Riley ran towards the underbrush the wooly had jumped into, but he grunted when he looked to see it nowhere to be seen.
"Dammit…" Riley spoke with a sigh, "All that for nothing?" Just as the hunter spoke, he spotted something small on the ground. The wooly’s hat! He bent over and grabbed it. It was just a tiny hat made out of the top of a large acorn, nothing really special. He sighed, figuring that he would have to just bring this to Micah. Though some info was better than none, he still cursed himself for letting the real thing slip between his fingers.
It didn’t take the hunter long to head back towards the lake. The chase hadn’t been long, but he was still surprised to find that Micah hadn’t made it back yet.
"Weird…" Riley whispered quietly as he flipped the hat around in his hands, "Did he ditch me?"
Micah could still feel his pants and his racing heart beat, that was too close! He transformed when the coast was clear, and then took out a small bottle in his rucksack. It was the medicine Marjorie gave him for those nasty burns and scars. He quickly fixed himself up and ran around the forest so it would look like he came from town.
He ran up to where they were a while ago and he felt relief as soon as he saw Riley there and not hunting hi--The wooly anymore. "Hey!" He said running up to the man with the bottle in hand. "Sorry i took so long! I had to search for it through my luggage. " He said laughing lightly.
As he looked at Riley he saw his hat. "Ah--W-where'd you get that?" He said pointing at the small acorn like hat in his hands. He felt like he wanted to slap himself, he must've dropped it in his hurried escape.
Picking Herbs || Micah & Violet
Violet looked at him again with worry. Even if he had gone through this a lot, an injury with poison was still a serious thing in her mind. Bare herbs always helped a little, but it wouldn’t help as much as actual potions would. They would have to head back…the nurse could always post her request again and go back in a few days. This was nothing she could ignore.
The nurse slowly stood up, “C-Can you stand..? W-We should head back to town and go to the clinic…” She looked around nervously, hoping that there weren’t any monsters prowling around. That was just the last thing they needed to run into at the moment.
"H-Huh...? Oh..Y-yeah i think so." He said, coughing out another batch of splotches of blood. Damn..This is bad... He wasn't sure why, but usually an antidote herb and a few medicinal herbs already made him well. This was weird, and somehow worrying. This poison was quite a fighter, he felt alright, and yet he was still coughing up blood.
Micah stood up slowly, his legs wobbling a bit as he did. His body felt fine, but it sure hell didn't act fine. "W-well, lead the way Violet." He said smiling at the girl. He hopes that no monsters would suddenly come out, out of nowhere and attack them, that would be bad. He could still defend Violet of course, though, if they came at packs, he wasn't so sure there.
Picking Herbs || Micah & Violet
"Y-You’re welcome…a-are you feeling a little better…?" Violet asked in concern, keeping an eye on the poisoned wound. Though the herb on it would help from more poison coming in to infect the area, it couldn’t do much about the poison oozing from the wound. She could only hope that it wasn’t that bad…she couldn’t examine the area without cleaning off the poison first…and she had nothing to clean it with at the moment.
"S-Sorry…I-I got their attention…d-didn’t I?" Violet asked sadly as she looked back up to Micah, "S-Sorry…" She looked down, wondering whether it had been a good idea to go out and pick herbs after all. The nurse and the great outdoors never really meshed well together…especially when she was often too weak to hold up a shield.
She rustled in her basket and offered Micah a medicinal herb, “T-This should help with the pain…m-maybe w-we should head back once y-you’re feeling okay…” Violet kept her eyes down to the ground.
"I..." He flinches but quickly puts on a straight face, trying not to worry the girl further. "Yeah...I'm fine..." He said smiling. He coughed and droplets of blood still got out. "Ugh..." He shook his head. "Don't worry alright?" he said smiling weakly at the worried girl.
"S'alright." Micah said chuckling weakly. "It was my fault for trying to go around them, maybe we should've waited until their attention was elsewhere." He was in deep thought as he wondered if it was best that he threw a rock at them or made noise elsewhere to get the monsters attention away from them.
As Violet offered him another medicinal herb Micah smiled gently and took it. Bit by bit he ate the herb and let it just sink in him. "Don't worry I'll be fine, I'm used to this." He said reassuring the girl. He didn't want anyone to worry too much about him. Specially with that look on her face, she didn't want her to feel like it was her fault. It really wasn't anyways.
TOP SECRET || Riley & Micah
Riley jumped in surprise when the golden wooly jumped right over his head as it avoided the charge. He grunted before turning around to see the wooly darting away in the meadow. The hunter huffed as he looked back towards the town. Looked like Micah still wasn’t back yet. Guess he had to do this quick or the blonde might have thought that he ditched him. With his sword still brandished, the hunter ran in the direction the wooly had gone in.
Soon he could see the wooly across a wide river, which for some reason had some wooden planks placed across like a rickety bridge. What the hell was this? Looked like a bridge a couple of kids would make on an adventure. Was this how the wooly got into town?
"BAAA! BAAA!"
"Dammit, it’s not getting away from me," Riley thought with irritation as the hunter swiftly ran across the makeshift bridge. Thankfully, the hunter just had to follow the noises the little wooly made to keep on its tail. Looked like it wasn’t going to get away if it kept this up. Riley could see it in the distance scurrying away through the woods. He picked up his pace to match the wooly and soon made a lunge to capture the golden wooly.
"Gotcha!" Riley yelled as he clenched his right hand around the arm of the wooly. He smirked triumphantly, wondering if Micah would be surprised that he had captured the monster they had just been talking about.
Micah tried his best to where his little feet can take him. He kept looking back to see if Riley was just behind or if he already lost him. He pushed himself to run faster, as he could still hear his footsteps, it was a good thing he had a high stamina though, but he just places his bets on it as he got used to fainting so much due to stamina loss, he can control it.
A small smile creeped upon his lips as he saw an opening Yesss!!! There it is! Home free! He thought as he jumped to reach it but before he could even land...
"Gotcha!"
"BAAAA?!!?"
He was caught! He was caught! He squirmed at the hunters grip. It was strong, but he was gonna use his wooly form at an advantage. "BAAA!!!" He quickly tapped his feet at Rileys side and slipped out, not fully harming him. He quickly ran faster now and disappeared into the thick forest.
But in his haste he dropped his hat.
Feminine Physique || Faulkner & Micah
" Mister Micah!" A voice said a few feet away. A long shadow covered Micah. A large, white bird stood over him.
"Hi hi!" Faulkner said, nudging Micahs head gently with his beak.
"Nice see! Go swim soon?" He said, moving so Micah was in the sun again. He went into the wade, and sat in the water, chirruping in surprise.
"Ooo- cold!" He said, gently ruffling his feathers.
Before Micah could even take off his shirt a familiar voice and a familiar face appeared before him. "Ah, Hey Faulkner! Long time!" he said putting down his shirt. "How are you?" He said as he smiled.
Micah chuckled lightly as he gently ran his hand through Faulkner's feathers.
He nodded with a cheerful face. "Yeah! That's what summers all about, well cooling off that is." He said laughing lightly. As he watched Faulkner go and sit on the cold water he couldn't help but smile.
"Don't want some sunblock first?" He said holding out a small bottle. "So yknow you don't get burned?"
Feminine Physique || OPEN
It was beach day and of course, that would mean time to whip out your swimsuits and rush out into the open waters to cool off. And with the people who had those mentalities, Micah wasn't and exemption. He had his shirt and red trunks on as he walked towards the beach. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the beach was just jam packed with people.
He let out a small sigh and then a smile as he walked towards the shore, he always liked being close to the water when he's at the beach. He set up a large beach umbrella and then sat down there. "This is the life." He said holding the sides of his shirt ready to take them off.
TOP SECRET || OPEN
"Thanks for the info," the hunter replied with a light laugh. Guess he would keep that in mind for when he moved out of Selphia. Wonder why he was supposed to stay away from this ‘Marian’? Was she just bad at mixing medicines?
"Ah, you don’t have to…" Riley tried to protest before the blonde kid began to run off. He was a pretty nice guy. It was weird that he would offer up medicine to a hunter he just met, but Riley shrugged off the thought. Maybe it was payment for the information? Maybe the scars really bothered him? Eh, wouldn’t be the first time. Sometimes in the smaller villages, a man who looked like he went through the shredder caused quite a nervous stir. Didn’t matter to him…’cept those burn scars on his hands. If the kid had medicine to heal those…that’d be pretty awesome.
"B-Baaa…?"
Riley immediately turned with his hand on his sword. What the hell was a wooly doing in the middle of town? Weren’t the guards doing their jobs? The golden wool caught his eyes and he felt his face grow into a confident smirk. That hat and the clothes…wasn’t that the wooly Micah was talking about? Huh…well that was an odd coincidence. Had it been following Micah? Maybe that was why he wanted the info.
The hunter slowly drew out his sword and thought about his options. While the prospect of making some nice accessories with that gold wool was definitely promising…Micah did want information on this one. Maybe…if he captured it before Micah came back. If it fought back…then…he guessed that he would have to tell Micah that it was dead.
Riley charged at the wooly, his sword at the ready for the swing. Hopefully this one wouldn’t be too difficult to fight like the normal woolies. Then again…it was golden.
All's good! Riley didn't notice him, and it seemed like he wasn't going to put up a fight either, he after all wouldn't harm a wooly. As soon as Micah almost sighed, he heard the seething of a sword.
"B-Baa...?!"
He quickly had this look of shock in his face as Riley charged towards him with his sword, and a bloodthirsty look on his face. OH NO OH NO!!! I'M GOING TO BECOME LAMBCHOPS!!! Micah quickly jumped over Riley's head, avoiding his attack and ran off towards the meadow.
"Baa!!!"
If he was caught he would become dead meat! he needed to transform quickly, but he could somehow feel that Riley's just running after him, this was bad, REAL bad. Micah hopped over the rocks of the river quickly over to the other side, it was a river with a strong current, so Riley might cross it too. He quickly gathered some large planks of wood and placed it on the rocks so Riley wouldn't get hurt.
There all better now--Wait. What am i doing?! I'm just digging my own grave! He internally screamed and began to dash away.
"BAAA! BAAA!"
Picking Herbs || Micah & Violet
"E-Eh?" the nurse squeaked in surprise as she got up. As she heard the growls of the monsters, Violet turned around and slowly backed away behind Micah. She trembled nervously as she felt her back fall against a tree. The battle did not take that long, but it was too long for Violet to take. Fighting was the worst parts of the trip outside of town…and it was something she could never get used to. She closed her eyes and waited for it to all be over.
"Are you alright…? Not hurt anywhere…?"
Violet slowly opened her eyes to see Micah smiling at her. She couldn’t help but notice the scratches all over his body from the fight as well as how tired he looked. Oh no…she was the one who attracted the monster’s attention. How could she be so clumbsy? She slowly nodded before he knelled down in pain.
"M-Micah…!" Violet cried out as she knelled down to see what was wrong, "I-I’m s-sorry! I-I’m sorry! I-I got their attention!" She looked over to his sleeve to see the purple poison leaking out from one of his scratches. She scooted over to examine it, trying to calm herself down. Poison wasn’t lethal in this small dose…but he needed treatment. If only she had brought some antidotes with her!
Violet looked around, trying to see if there were any antidote herbs growing near them. She only needed two plants! One to wrap around the infection site and one for him to ingest…then they could head back. The nurse soon spotted something not too far from where they were. It was the right color…so maybe…
"I-I’ll be right back…" Violet spoke before she shakily got up and walked over to where the herbs were. Between the green grass and the medicinal herbs were just what she had been looking for. The nurse knelled down and picked the herbs quickly. She was still worried about any monsters coming. She grabbed the antidote herbs as well as some of the others for good measure. He would probably need some medicinal herbs as well…
She slowly got up and looked around carefully for monsters. Thankfully there were none to be seen; likely scared off by Micah’s attack. Violet walked over quickly and sat down beside him to start wrapping the wound in the herbs.
"T-This should help…" Violet spoke as she finished wrapping it, "Y-You’ll also need to eat this…s-sorry…i-it’ll be a little bitter since it hasn’t been mixed…" She offered an antidote herb to the blonde, her face still fraught with worry.
Micah could only chuckle weekly, as he coughed up more blood before he could muster up a sentence. "--It's alright. I'm just glad you're safe." He said with a smile on his face. Damn, this poison though, shouldn't this just be the usual easy to get over ones? It never hurt like this before. Micah clicked his tongue as his body shook.
"Ah wait--" he was about to stop the girl, and not make her worry about him, though, in his condition there wouldn't be anyone who won't be worried about him. He could only sigh and lean back on a tree nearby, he stared at the scratches and the poison oozing out of his right arm, it seemed to be more than usual, how peculiar. He had another coughing fit, sputtering out a few drops of blood, most likely from the poison in his system.
More so than himself, he was worried about Violet, what if there are monsters nearby? He took on the job as her bodyguard and yet he was there incapacitated and feeling dizzy as he feels the poison just fully take effect.
It was a good thing right after he felt it, Violet came back who began to immediately treat him. As she handed him the antidote herb he could only smile. "No worries. I do this all the time." He said quickly swallowing the herb, used to the bitter taste as he let out a sigh, the pain was gradually decreasing. "Ah...Thanks Violet..." He said putting his hand on his chest.
The poison seemed to still be seeping out from his sleeve bit by bit, it must've been a lot, but it didn't hurt as much now. Micah gave Violet a smile of gratitude. "I owe you one."
TOP SECRET || OPEN
"Huh…if the apothecary is that good, looks like I’ve got no luck on where I lived…" Riley spoke with a smirk. There was apothecary that good in Sharance? That was pretty good news. Once he had to leave Selphia, that was one of the possibilities of where he’d head next. Maybe that place had something to get rid of burn marks…those were the only things that really bothered him. The scars got him attention sometimes with some lovely men and women…
The hunter looked back over at Micah as he spoke the next question, “If the golden wooly comes by? Usually don’t kill woolies unless they attack me…but…golden wool would be interesting to use in accessories…” Not only that, but the smaller blonde’s interest in this woolie seemed to pique his interest as well. He’d hunt it if he saw it…
"Ah..." that was the only thing that escaped Micahs lips as Riley spoke. It must be why the scars weren't disappearing on his body anytime soon. "Uhm..Hey if you plan on going to Sharances apothecary someday...Look for a woman named Margaret. And don't let a girl named Marian heal you." He said with a nervous laugh. Marian's medicine worked, but at the end of the day he faints on his farm or even at the dungeons, he didn't want others to experience it too.
Micah has this smile on his face as he spoke. "Ahaha..I see..." He said as thousands of shivers ran down his spine as the thought of being skinned and made into bunches of accessories. And then a determined look on his face appeared when he was about to something stupid. He needed to know HOW he would REALLY act in those circumstances, maybe it isn't as he says? "Uhm, hey Riley." he said. "I'm just goiing to get some medicine for some of your scratches." He said with a smile. "Just wait here, i have something back at the inn which could remove some of the marks the monsters left on you." Micah said as he turned and quickly ran back.
He ran, but he wasn't going to the inn. He took a quick turn and made sure no one would see him, and the perfect spot was a small cave just nearby, it was dark and no one was around. He quickly turned into a wooly and ran back to Riley. When he arrived he hid behind a small bush just a distance away from him. Well..Here goes.. He hopped slowly away and out of the bush and looked at Riley like he was a surprised wooly "B-Baaa..?"
Picking Herbs || Micah & Violet
Violet followed closely behind Micah as the two made their way through the forest. At every little movement in the bushes, the nurse flinched a little, though she tried to hide it from her temporary bodyguard. It was strange…most of her bodyguards were usually bigger. Micah looked younger than her and was only a little taller than she was.
"D-Don’t think that…h-he took the job knowing what he had to do…" Violet thought to herself, trying to keep herself from over thinking the matter. She nearly bumped into Micah when he paused in the middle of the path. The nurse nodded when he spoke, and then got as close as she was comfortable with. She looked over at the monsters and froze up. They weren’t looking in their direction, but they were still there.
As the two began to make their stealthy escape, Violet kept her eyes nervously glued to the blonde’s back. If she didn’t look at the monsters…they wouldn’t notice…right? Just stop thinking about it…
Suddenly Violet felt her foot catch on something. A root? She toppled over, barely missing Micah on the way down. She landed with a soft thump.
"O-Ow…" Violet spoke quietly as she looked up, "S-Sorry…"
They we're almost at the end of the clearing, and away from the monsters if they would reach it. Micah kept his gaze from Violet, the path and the monsters, just in case one of them were to notice them and attack.
It was all going well until a sudden 'thump' and snag of a hand hit his hearing and foot. Micah quickly turned to Violet and help her up. "It's Alright." He said with a smile, but then it disappeared as soon as he heard a low growl and thumping of the ground. "Ack-- They noticed." He said, gripping the handle of his sword as he helped Violet up.
"Stay behind me!" He said after helping her up, his other hand holding on to one of his other blades, in haste he removed his swords from its scabbard and held his battle stance.
As the monsters charged at him he made sure that no one would even touch Violet, he skillfully dodged and at most used the hilt of his sword to hit some of the monsters, and some he sent to the forest of beginnings. One knocked him down, but he quickly got up and then attacked, making sure that the monsters wouldn't keep them there for long. And after a long while, he finished, his clothing filled with scratches as well as his face. Micah panted and then looked at Violet with a smile. "Are you alright...? Not hurt anywhere...?" he said walking slowly closer to the girl.
"S'alright now." he said chuckling, and then as he did spit out a few drops of blood. Making him kneel. "Ack--...Poison..." He said as he noticed a purple hue seeping out from his right sleeve. "Heh...But don't worry, at least you're aright." He said as he smiled weakly.
TOP SECRET || OPEN
"Huh?" Riley immediately asked in surprise, "Well that’s definitely specific…can’t say I’ve seen one of those before…" Maybe he did have a run in with a halfie? Maybe he was looking for one with that description? Better make sure he knows all he can, then.
The hunter let out a sigh when Micah asked, “Yea…I’ve run into a few nasty ones. All these scars? Monster attacks.” Riley motioned to the obvious scars on his face. He then looked at the scars on his arms. With a gloved finger, he traced the scar on his left arm. A matching scar graced his right, showing that they were from the same injury. Riley looked back up to Micah and gave him a sad smile.
"Well…not all of ‘em. This one’s from when I was attacked by a half monster," Riley spoke as he continued to trace the scar, "Half monsters look human…but they devolve into their other half once somethin’ triggers it. Had to learn that the hard way."
"I don’t know why you’re askin’ for info, but if you’re lookin’ for that halfie, I can only say that you can’t leave your guard down ‘round them," Riley suggested, "Don’t let their pretty face throw ya off. Just wanna let you know that…"
"I...I see..." He said with a small almost forced smile. That was somehow a relief. He didn't know why but he felt like it was. "M-Must be a rare kind huh?" He said scratching the back of his head, as he gave a sheepish smile at the man.
As Riley showed his scars, Micah gave a hurt look. Though he had a run in on some monsters too but he never once did have a scar. "I...I've run in to some monsters too ...Well most of the time i DO run into them..But..." Micah awkwardly removed his sleeves and showed no signs of scars. Not even bruises. "Well i believe it's just because the apothecary in Sharance is great." He said shuddering a bit as he remembers all the weird medicine Maria always makes him drink.
"You were attacked by a--" he couldn't finish his sentence he didn't know some half-monsters we're aggressive and at most hostile. The half-monsters he met are all gentle, even him. All of them wouldn't attack anyone.
He felt a light blush creep to his cheeks as he said 'pretty face' that's overstating it, and he didn't know why it made him blush, but the shook it off in fear the man might see it. "Alright...I will do my best." He said as he gave Riley a nervous smile. "Ah uhm...Hey..what would you do if THAT wooly comes by?"
Another Day in This Kingdom... || Micah & Avery
The repetition and sigh of words came out as something different- yes, perhaps a lie, but the way he said it was almost dream-like. However, he wasn’t going to keep questioning and prying at him to wonder what he really was here for.
Avery blinked and looked to the boy again and tilted his head for a moment, and then looked at the water. “Yeah….me too. That’s what all of this has been about, really….I couldn’t just be a slave to factory wages my whole life.” He muttered, not really considering what he said. Which was too much. Not because it was a secret, but because he felt like he was….he wasn’t really sure. Communication and actually talking to someone about actual things felt…. odd. He looked to the water again. “Reflect…? Yes, I suppose…..although, honestly, I try not to reflect.” He said and looked up at the stars, then lying back as well. “I guess you could say so….although, I don’t really have any positive things to reflect on too much.” He said, smiling very faintly. “So I try to reflect on well….maybe the future…..to hope things change.” He muttered, frowning again. Because there was a voice in his head that taunted him that things would never change for him- he would always be the same and nothing miraculous would happen. He had given those ideas up too young- disillusioned and jaded with life by the time he was probably an 8 year old, if not sooner than that. His eyes widened slightly as he looked at the stars at his next sentence though- “Kind person?” a “blessing”? Hell, that had to be the first time words like that came out of anyone’s mouth towards him. He was a bit awestruck at first. “Kind…..?” He echoed. “I’m….really not though.” He said through a bit of an almost distraught voice. “I think you have the wrong person if you think those things of me.” He said, blinking over to him for a moment. “You know, I think you’re one of the first people I’ve met to say anything like that.” He muttered bluntly, but still took on a slightly softer, curious expression. What in the hell could he have said or done that made him think he was kind at all…..hell though, he was overthinking. Surely his opinion of hi would change sooner or later, he was sure of it….
Micah blinked for a moment before speaking up. "You once worked at a factory?" He asked. "What kind of factory was it?" he chuckled lightly under his breath. "I don't know anything about factories, but if it's farming , and a lot of other stuff you can count on me to know about it." he said with a small proud and happy smile on his face.
"I see..." He said with a gentle tone in his voice. He let out a soft laugh as Avery spoke. "Change is nice in some aspects." He said "And I'm sure, if you really believe it. Then it'll happen." He said chuckling lightly. It'd be nice in changing things, well he was content with his life as of now, but it'd be a lie if he said he wouldn't want a few things to change.
He sat up and looked at his companion as he said that he wasn't "That's kind of under rating yourself no?" He said with a smile. "You're kind, believe me, i, I feel it." He said as he looked up at the stars. And then a seemingly look of surprise appeared on his face. "Really...?" he asked as he looked at Avery. "Hmmm..." He began to think. Maybe the people he met judged him too quickly. Well he did too but only because he thought it was a silverwolf. "Well..I'll stick to what i said." Micah chuckled lightly. He knows Avery was nice, he didn't feel threatened in anyway as they spoke, or even as he saw him.
TOP SECRET || OPEN
The hunter raised an eyebrow at the answer, “Ya gotta be a little more specific than that. S’alright. Don’t have to be nervous.” Riley flashed a friendly smile at the trembling kid before him. Whatever he wanted to know about half-monsters must be something important. Maybe he got attacked by a golden one? He’d never really seen a golden halfie before.
"Well, I can give ya a little info with that," Riley spoke with a sigh, "I’ve honestly never seen any golden halfies before. Heard of golden monsters. They’re not all that common, though I’ve heard they’re pretty powerful. Not somethin’ you’d want to run into in the forest…" He looked down towards the scars on his arms and looked back towards the younger looking blonde. If he was asking about half-monsters, he figured he should give him some sort of warning. Still, he would rather know the reason why he was asking before going into that.
"Specific..." He said as if letting that word sink in before he spoke. "...Golden woolies...With a hat..and blue scarf." He said as he fidgeted a little bit. He was nervous, not because of his companion, but because he was asking a question about himself, as well as looking for an opinion. He wondered if people would accept half-monsters, or...Kill them on the spot. Micah shivered at the thought.
As Riley spoke Micah listened intently, nodding at the information, and then having this sheepish look on his face after Riley finished. He wasn't that dangerous. He wasn't dangerous at all. Maybe though this man he was with experienced something with a half-monster that led him to think like that. "I-I see." He said as he coughed a bit, as he didn't know what to say, he felt a little silly now. "Uhm...Riley." He spoke up with a small voice. "Did you run into such a monster?" He asked with curious eyes filled with interest.
Maybe, Just maybe if he gets more information about what half-monsters this man knows he can find them and ask them questions that he is just itching to ask, that he can't ask a simple human. Of course he could ask Katarina, but he believes it would trouble her.
Picking Herbs || Micah & Violet
The nurse took the shield with some hesitation, “T-Thank you…” She was honestly surprised that he would think to give her one. She carefully strapped it to her arm. Thankfully, it wasn’t that heavy. Usually shields were things that Violet would probably struggle to drag around, but this one was something she could use. She gave him a small smile.
"U-Um…t-there’s a field in the middle of the forest t-that I usually go to…l-lots of herbs grow there…" Violet spoke shyly, "I-It just has some monsters on the way…"
After Violet strapped the small shields on her arms, Micah gave her a content smile. Nodding at the information she just said, Micah kept his hands just at the hilt of his swords. "Alright. Keep close to me Violet. I promise i won't let any monster lay it's hands on you." He said giving the nervous looking girl a reassuring smile.
As they made their way tot he forest, he decided it's best if they took a path with small bushes that way they won't get noticed easily. Keeping his voice at a whisper as he saw some monsters in the vicinity. "Ah... Those are a lot of monsters." He said as he kept a firm grip on the handle now. "Come on Violet, let's try and go around them, keep close to me alright?" he said as he tugged gently at Violets sleeve.
