Do u have any carcar fic recommendation? Esp angst and sad ending?

I haven't read much carcar fics since the beginning of this year so there might be more fics that fit the bill but here are some angsty carcar fics that I absolutely love:

a single repeated dream by waxing__crescent

This might be my favorite carcar angsty fic. It's so well written and gorgeous and I've reread it a lot especially when I want to fuel my sadness. Happy ending.

2. what died didn't stay dead by oscarina

Horror genre. Amazing fic. This fic disturbed me in the most amazing way. It's not sad in the traditional romantic sense but I recommend it. Bad/bittersweet ending.

3. Wishful Thinking by mothman_inrainbows

Man vs self. Oscar in conflict with his own self. Heart-wrenching for me and I cried after reading. Happy ending.

4. there's always this year by crescenteluce

I love characters x consequences. Granted, this fic is like a compilation of alternate universes Carlos finds himself in while in a Christmas Carol sort of situation. Happy ending.

Hi, I want to ask about your fic titled Hotel 66. So, can we assume that the carcar eventually get back together even though they 'died' and became residents of the hotel? But what about the first oscar that carlos met when he came to the hotel at first?

So to give a bit of context about the Hotel, it's kind of like smack dab in the middle of the mortal realm and hell.

The hotel staff are not the actual people who they portray themselves as. They're demons, and the permanent residents of the Hotel, who mess around with the people who find themselves stranded. To 'play with their food', they take on the forms of the people in the person's life. Y'know, just to fuck with them.

The real Carlos and Oscar don't end up together nor do they become residents of the hotel. The Concierge wearing Oscar's face is not the real Oscar, just a demon. By the time the real Oscar finds the Hotel, Carlos's soul is somewhere in limbo.

The Hotel and its residents will go back to business, enjoying their Coyote Nights, while waiting for the next poor soul for them to play with.

You said for now you won't be continuing Alley Rose, does that mean it will happen someday?

Maybe I'll continue it but I don't think it'll be a happy 5581 ending. Maybe it'll just be one more one-shot for closure or maybe it'll be multiple more that's just pure angst.

I'm mirroring Alley Rose after my own lovelife so the story would depend on how my life would go. With how things are progressing irl, I don't think Oscar and Carlos in Alley Rose would end up together again.

I'm delighted to hear that Alley Rose elicited such a reaction from you Anon 😭😭 I'd love to give them a happy ending but honestly, it depends on how my own lovelife will go. The context for AR got buried under all my other posts since I wrote it in a fic rec tag but I'll put it here:

Literally wrote this the night before my graduation. It started with me reminiscing about my past; a past love that I'm scared I'll never move on from. Then I thought 'Hey let's put Oscar in my situation but worse 😈.' And so this story is a love letter to myself, as weird as it may seem. Even with the second chapter- the sequel, technically- I kept it open-ended. Maybe I'll write a decisive ending in time. We'll see.

So, forgive me if I can't give them a happy ending as of now 🙏🏻 I'll give you guys all the carcar happy endings we all want but Alley Rose will remain hurt/no comfort for now
