Harry Potter Trio: A Bending Analysis
Every good sorting blog always had to include the Golden Trio.
Harry Potter
Okay, I know what you're thinking. Yeah. Harryâs the avatar. I know! I know! You're mad at me! Â Such an obvious choice! Hear me out:
contains a reincarnated soul
has a proclivity for flight
the chosen one (yeah ok)
young and assigned to fight all the Big Bads
However, being the Avatar doesnât tell us Harryâs potential nationality. For that, I would go with Airbender. Harry is naturally drawn towards peace and quiet, has a diplomatic and liberal view on the world, and favors pacifism over needless violence. Combine all this with his skills on a broomstick, and itâs pretty obvious that Harry is an air nomad avatar.
Ron Weasley
This was fairly easy. Large family, hand me down robes? Must be an... Earthbender! Ron possesses fairly popular earthbending qualities, such as loyalty, stability, stubbornness, and straight-forward thinking. Heâs an earnest and funny person, both traits found among many earthbenders. His proclivity with nifflers, animals that dig underground, is also an example.Â
Hermione Granger
Hermione, while just as stubborn as Ron, is intelligent and adapts to change easily. She is quick on her feet yet sensitive. This makes her a Waterbender. Hermione is the relegated âhealerâ of the trio, as well as the best at almost everything. Some would go as far as to consider her a prodigy. Her best subject in school is every subject, which speaks more to her incredible intelligence than her potential as a waterbender. Water is the element of change, an element that reacts quickly and easily to everything. Hermione is very good at picking up social cues, reading situations, and problem solving. Plus, sheâs incredible at potions. Does she remind anyone else of Katara?
