*gives the bench a dream nail*
??uh okay thanks for the gift-
[around it, hundreds of spirits slowly fade in. it doesn't recognize any, not personally.
first come the bugs from the citadel. each has a cracked shell, all on their same left side. all in tattered citadel garb. it thinks they deserve what happened to them.
then come common bugs. bugs who hadn't done anything. not to the Skarr, not to the bench. simple travelers. with the same scars as their choir of predecessors; crumbled shells, ripped robes.
it never recognizes the faces of those its trap has claimed. why would it? they're always fleeting, temporary. at first, it was like a game. bug sits on the bench, bug is knocked off of the bench. simple, easy, and fun for a while. it only recognizes the mark it left on them.
.. it spots an odd one out. one that doesn't fit in with the others. scarred, but not from a swinging claw. scarred from time, circumstance. this is the only time the bench feels guilt. this is the only one. it does not care about the others, ended early by its sole purpose. it only cares about this one.]
...you're here?
@thesafestbench
…why wouldn’t I be
…
It’s not like I want to stay in Bilewater
..i guess that's true.
in that case, why aren't you like.. traveling the world? isn't that something you wanted to do?
I did yes...
But I wanted to stay with you more...
why? I couldn't do anything for you before, and I definitely.. can't now...
and I'm stuck at this lake. you've already been here..
I'm here because I care about you and I love you.
I.. I love you too.
but– you could be doing so much more! seeing so much more.. without me.
