moodboard for when you listen to FEAR - EP by NF
In our 20s, breaking and fixing seem to coexist with a brutal intensity.
You start your 20s being an ignorant rebel who thinks not believing is cool, that you are supposed to be a little reckless, that you ought to look up to people older than you as a rule, or that you are not meant for love. But a few tears and life down the lane, you see the world for what it is, and you know you could have been kinder, softer. You’ve lost friends. You've survived nights that didn’t promise any mornings at all. And you realize you are meant for love; you are just not meant for anything half-hearted. And to think that we've just scratched the surface so far, that there is a lot more to learn, a lot of fixing and unfixing to happen, is so terrifying yet so hopeful at the same time. It's as though life will never run out of chances to give you as long as you know what to do with it.
i feel like i do 25% of what an average person does in a day and still it's too much
pioneering something called "gritted teeth optimism" where everything is gonna turn out okay even if i have to bite and claw and gnash my way through it
It’s a profound yet heartbreaking realisation we have in our twenties, the painful years of growing up. You discover that you are different, but not better. Your softness is different, it’s catches the hurt in a minute. Your idea of happy might be just no noises in your head. You love the idea of love but you despise what it does to you. You can actually see your darkness, your vices, how they get you undone. You realise that children are braver than grown ups and you are now a fearful being.
-SHIVANI-
*through gritted teeth* you are not a child taking a test with the purpose of getting the highest score, you are an adult trying new things and finding ways to enjoy your life, make mistakes, be a beginner, be mediocre, be where you need to be, be unlikeable, just. be.
“I know that feeling. You have to do something. You have to change something radically, because you can’t stay like you are for another second, or you’re going to explode.”
— Jennifer Echols, Forget You

"One need not be a chamber to be haunted. One need not be a house. The brain has corridors surpassing material place."
-Emily Dickinson
