To Anyone who Needs to Hear This: A New Church.
I felt a need to say something because I have been absent for a while.
If I am following Jesus, then the only Jesus I want to follow is one who loves people regardless of their race or ethnicity, their sexuality, their gender identity, their disability, etc. I know we talk about grace in a church setting, but do we accept and apply grace for these people listed and live it out or do we shame and turn these individuals away?Â
If you need to hear it: God loves these people. No conditions.
I am sick of the church walking around these issues. I am sick of the church as a performance. A place with conditions. An exclusive place. These are our real and honest lives.Â
People matter. People matter. People matter.Â
Right now we are focused and determined to fight for black lives and make HUGE systemic changes in many areas of their lives. BLACK LIVES MATTER! THEY MATTER! and it needs to show.
Right now it is pride month - let us continue to speak up for lgbtqa+ individuals, especially in our churches. God loves LGBTQA+ individuals.
We are fighting for equality and unity.Â
I am sick of people walking into a church and feeling like they don’t belong because [insert reason].Â
You belong. You matter.Â
& if your church doesn’t accept you - leave it.Â
I am still looking for a church. A place. My place. A place within christianity. & it’s difficult in today’s world & because of the things I carry.
But if you need support, if you need hope - I am here for you. I will fight for you. I am out fighting for you. Within churches. Within policy & legislation. Within schools/education. Within corporate. Within America & beyond. ETC. I promise I am out here.Â
You matter. You do. I hope you can see.Â
Let’s really show people THEY HAVE A PURPOSE & A PLACE especially within the church. Let’s scream it. Let’s shout it. Let’s not be afraid.Â
It’s time for a new church. I hope you can see.Â
My heart hurts. My heart hurts.Â
