you’re an idiot. no one is “letting the other six off the hook”, the other six are mostly republicans who everyone already hates ANYWAY. the point of this post is to point out that we shouldn’t be idolizing RBG, because she is just as shitty as any other politician. no one is idolizing the other 6 judges, so the point doesn’t make sense to make for the rest.

turning “hey we shouldn’t be idolizing this centrist judge who voted for a gas pipeline to be built among MANY OTHER shitty decisions” into “guhhh you just hate her because she’s a WOMAN” is ridiculous. also note that of the 3 female supreme court judges, she was the only one to vote to approve this pipeline. why not support one of the other two instead of crying about people posting rightful criticism of RBG?

additionally, while we’re pointing out RBG’s demographics, we should note she’s not just a woman: she’s also white! this pipeline crosses through majority black, latine, and native communities. check out this article:

RBG has fucking dissented from Republicans gutting the Voting Rights Act, has voted to uphold affirmative action and abortion, and has one of the most liberal records of any Justice

Do y'all even fucking understand the damage that would be done if Trump replaces her with a conservative? Roe v. Wade gone. Affirmative action gone. Any form of civil rights legislation struck down. If you think SCOTUS is bad now with 4 out of 9 Justices appointed by Democrats, it could be much, much fucking worse

I’m curious, which part of this post is uninformed? is there anything stated here that isn’t true? Even if what you’re saying about her being the linchpin of all of our right, which isn’t true at all but let's just say for the sake of argument that it is, what does that have to do with the fact that she often votes in ways that are disruptive to the rights of women of color? In this despicable country, if you are a politician, the odds that you’ve made decisions to help protect the ruling class, and RBG is no different. It doesn’t matter if you’re a woman, Black, gay, or poor, if you’re a politician and you’ve made decisions that have hurt oppressed people both here and abroad, then you are not above scrutiny.
