With tours happening, it had been a while since Jongin had been able to catch up with Jin. It had been too long but not long enough for that awkwardness to settle between the friends. With food in front of them and drinks to ease the night, Jongin laughs at some story he was telling before a loud commotion brings their attention elsewhere.

"Oh?" Jongin lowers his hand, looking over at the couple a few tables behind Jin. "Looks like we get some entertainment tonight." The place isn't fancy by any means but there is usually a type of decorum people should have when the place is busy with patrons are trying to eat.

A loud shout brings more attention towards the arguing couple as the woman throws her water over the man and starts to yell at him, the language colourful enough to make the devil blush. It's hard to pick up completely, the pitch causing some of her words to get squeaky but by the behaviour — the man definitely fucked up.

"I've always heard about public break ups but I never thought I'd be witnessing one."

It was good to be home, even if it was only for a little while, after all those months away on tour. Though if Seokjin was honest, he had been so happy with his members that he hadn't noticed all the time that had passed until he was on his own bed, rather than a hotel room. And now, being home meant meeting those friends he had missed while being away.

The singer had happily joined Jongin for food and drinks, both something he deeply enjoyed along some time with his friend, his squeaky laughter surrounding him before he paused, trying to look towards where Jongin was pointing subtly. "Ooop...i didn't even know that word could be used like that..." The idol said after a particular creative insult. "We are witnessing a k-drama in real life." He agreed. "Want to guess what the man did?" Because it was clear who was in the wrong.

sakura nearly misses him at first, too focused on tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear and smoothing down the creases of her practice hoodie as she steps out toward the lobby, the quiet hum of the building a welcome break from the mirrors and music upstairs. it’s only when she looks up that she realizes who’s there, her steps falter for half a second, something small and nervous tightening in her chest before she instinctively straightens, shoulders pulling back just enough to seem composed. she adjusts her grip on the coffee cup she hasn’t even ordered yet, brushing her fingers through her hair again as if it might make her look more put together, more worthy of the moment, before offering a polite, careful bow. "sunbaenim...." she greets softly, her voice gentle but steady, though her gaze dips for a beat too long before lifting again, a quiet effort to meet his eyes without lingering too much.

It was good to be back, that was all Jin could think as he made his way through HYBE knowing fully well what was waiting for him in the practice room. Chaos. He knew that loud laughter would greet him as soon as he stepped into the practice room from one of his members, from his family. A smile broke into his lips at the thought of it. How much had he missed that chaos, when it was only him it felt far too quiet for him to be comfortable yet it was nice to go back to how things were meant to be.

The idol had been too lost in his own thoughts, in his own drink. To realize someone was close to him until they greeted him, surprising him slightly. "Ah...Hello, sakura-ssi" The singer greeted with a small bow in return and a smile on his lips. "Busy day?" He asked, small talk had never been his strong suit.

Despite Jongin having stood down as an ambassador for Gucci, he was still invited to an opening of their new store in Gangnam. The man was dressed up in the newest fashion, looking like he was meant to be there — or like he never left — before being driven to the venue.

Once he was inside, he saw a familiar face and smiled softly before making his way over towards him. "Hyung," he catches Jin's attention, making sure he's not intruding on a conversation. "Congratulations on the ambassadorship." Jongin's smile is genuine as he bows before shaking his hand. "How are they treating you?"

Jin had enough of solo schedules now that his team was back. The idol had found out that was the hardest part of it when his members were still away and he was the one holding the fort, truth to be told, the singer was far too introvert to enjoy all this without his extrovert members. Jin had been happy to promote with them once more, happy for the loudness in the waiting rooms and the laughter that seemed to be with them since that LA song camp yet somehow Jin still found himself stuck in a solo promotion for Gucci, the only good thing was that it was still in Seoul.

"Jongin-ah" The idol greeted, smile growing on his lips beyond thrilled to finally see a familiar face. "Thank you, they have been quite lovely!" Truly supporting his solo tour and promotions during that lonely period. " It's been a while! How are you?"

Soft, quiet and dainty laughter curls around the rim of the champagne flute. Faintest sound of bubbles breaking between breaths. That's what does her in first—not the joke, not the costume, but the way he says it. Chaeyoung-ah. It definitely lands a lot gentler than she expects, almost domestic in a room full of masks and noise.

The only name of hers she hasn't heard ever spoken out loud in a while. The only one that belongs to quieter places, to mornings before the glam and the makeup, before all the noise... The one that doesn't come with cameras or champagne flutes and caviar.

❝ You know, usually I'd correct you and say it's Selina Kyle or Catwoman for this evening... ❞ Merely teasing, much like the usual rhythm they've established with their sequence of quips. Eyes glinting beneath the edge of that cat-like mask as she takes a slow sip. ❝ But⸻you're in the clear, Jin oppa. Or should I say, Captain Kim? ❞ Gaze flickering towards the blue vest framing his shoulders. ❝ Oh, and bad luck? ❞ A hum, red lips curling subtly. ❝ I didn't peg you for the superstitious type, though. I thought captains were supposed to be brave. Tsk, tsk... ❞

Jin chuckled at the teasing tone of the fellow idol, enjoying the playful banter he knew was coming as he also did the same with his members and deeply enjoyed it when he got them rilled up with his teasing, though sometimes it was him the one who ended with red ears and a popping vein on his neck when it backfired. "Well, I have always been partial to Marvel more than DC." The singer teased back, a wide smile on his lips showing he was just messing around as he knew who Catwoman was, who didn't.

"Ah? Is this what they call favoritism?" He chuckled before his peculiar laughter followed. "Don't you know that sailors are the most superstitious ones? We can't set a foot out there unless we make sure luck is on our side." He played along, though he liked to go onto the sea for fishing, he wasn't the one that had to worry about guiding the boat. "Come on, chaeyoung-ah. Don't get distracted. When is it bad luck to be followed by a black cat?" A grin stretching over his plump lips as he could finally tell his joke." When you’re a mouse!" He said, odd laughter filling their surroundings, clearly enjoying his own joke.

Jin was hungry and nothing he could see around on the tables of the party seemed to be filling enough to the empty stomach he had on that moment. The idol had made the mistake of skipping lunch in favor of having more time to practice for his final concert encore dates and now he was paying the price, his stomach was rumbling despite the champagne he had drank not so long ago, craving food not drinks.

"Do you think they will give us dinner soon?" He asked Yunho, the question quite rushed unclassy compared to his Captain costume but Jin was starving. "I hope is a proper one..." He had attended many parties were the food selection was quite dissapointing so he hoped this night wouldn't be the case. "Are you having fun?"

Leather catching the light in clean, liquid lines. Sleek and black, fitting like second skin as it etches upon curves. Silhouette moving like smoke, a shadow that remembered how to glow. Cat-like mask cuts across her features, feathered lashes framing the kind of gaze that could disarm and dismiss in the same breath. Feline and languid pace of grace. Anne Hathaway's blonde version of a legacy with her own twist of softness and sin. It's almost as if she internalized and rehearsed this rhythm of control. No jewelry, no unnecessary sparkle, just a red sloshed smile that doesn't quite give everything away.

A glass of champagne finds her fingers before she even asked for it.

Jin was not someone who enjoyed being scared much, or social interaction either. The idol was more on the introvert side and a bit (or a lot) of a scaredy cat, so the idea of going to somewhere with a high probability of both, scares and people, had him pausing and thinking about joining for quite a while before he convinced himself that it would be alright. The plan was quite simple, just go, greet his friends, have a good (short) time and then claim to go to the bathroom only to go home and play games. Easy.

And so, Seokjin found himself dressed up as a Captain, blue vest framing his wide shoulders and belt around his waist. Jin wondered if it truly counted as a costume, he was easily found on a boat fishing on his days off after all. He had barely walked in when a glass of champagne was given to him and a familiar face greeted him. The idol chuckled. "You must like cats very much." The idol teased, he was more of a Marvel fan after all. "Chaeyoung-ah, since you are a black cat...do you know when is it bad luck to be followed by a black cat?"

❝ Oh? ❞ Bright eyes narrowing ever so subtly, corners faintly crinkling as her smile deepens more. Clearly amused. ❝ Tsk, tsk... you're really going to defend Golden Retrievers like that? ❞ A shake of her head, slow and elegant, those golden tendrils of her hair framing her face swaying with the movement. The gesture making it feel like she was about to scold him, yet the way she speaks betray the teasing lilt to it. They are on this bantering streak after all. ❝ Loyal, sweet, sunshine in fur... safe, predictable... The kind you could bring home to your parents and they'd just nod all approvingly. Though honestly, now that I think about it, I can see why you'd take offense. ❞ Laughter, mellow, dripping like champagne, light and effervescent. ❝ You really did say it. And now it's all too late to take it back. Wait, are you taking it back? Not when we have all these beautiful waiting staff and patrons as witnesses⸻ ❞ A theatrical gasp breaks out of her, the kind that the neighboring table would instinctively notice. ❝ Omo! "There is nothing wrong with that! That's what makes them the superior dog since they are so gentle and loving." The idol said, plump lower lip coming out in a pout without realization as his ears and neck tinted red with effort, though the playfullness was still there as he was, in fact, quite similar to what she had described, and saw nothing wrong in being a loved son in law...er dog brought home with those qualities. "Wouldn't you rather have loyal and sweet than messy and who vanishes at their own will?" He asked. "I bet Hank isn't like that." He teased before clearing his throat, acting cooly as if his ears werent burning with the attention, his chest probably colored by now too. "I never said so, no idea what you are talking about." The introvert said even though he often acted like an extrovert on camera, he was now suffering from the attention of those around them.

namjoon’s dimples appeared as soon as jin finished his story, the kind of smile that was hard to suppress when it came to his hyung’s antics. “you really don’t let anyone off the hook, do you?” he teased lightly, shaking his head, though the affection in his tone was undeniable.

his thumb traced over the corner of his notebook before he added, “honestly, i’m just trying to find the right words for some things i’ve been working on.” he exhaled a quiet laugh, dimples deepening for a moment. “but most of my time lately’s been with jisoo and youngmi anyway. you’d be surprised how much energy a seven month old can take out of you.” his voice carried that mix of exhaustion and pride only someone in love with his little family could have. looking back at jin, his expression softened even further. “your stories are still the best distraction, though. sometimes i think you make it easier for me to just breathe.”

Jin chuckled, he always enjoyed spending time with his members, no, his brothers and now that they were all out of the military and without a tour he had been with at least one of them daily, today was namjoon's turn. "Don't worry joon-ah, I will congratulate you during koala day." Whenever that was, he will need to investigate.

"Already working in out comeback?" jin asked as he leaned closer, trying to peek at the notebook that could hold their future. "Our midas touch producers are back at it!" He brushed their shoulders together in a playful way. "Yah, namjoon-ah you are living the dream." As Jin entered his thirties the idea of having a family of his own sounded more tempting. "How is little youngmi? I should visit soon..." He paused, offering a pat on namjoon's shoulder. "I'm always here for you, joon-ah." Jin said and meant it. "Plus, I have planty of those to share with you."

People often said everyone had an animal in them, perhaps he was indeed a golden rather than the hamster he had been led to believe he was during all those years under the spotlight, or his personal favorite, an alpaca like his son, RJ. Though lately he liked the ones with a wolf after leaving the military, not a golden though, different canine. But that didn't stop him from teasing Rosé. "Hey!" And getting offended in the retriever's place. "What's wrong with being a retriever?" Pouty lips coming out as he whined. Recognition flashed on his features at the name he had forgotten, an odd one. Yet as her words kept coming, his ears tinted with red just as his neck began warming up at the realization that his teasing had been taken as a compliment, leaving him a tad flabbergasted before his characteristic laughter followed. "Did I said that?" He playfully added yet his introvert side was painfully obvious.

The idol mouth parted, plump lips poking out and ready to defend the honor of the golden retrievers, perhaps now for personal reasons as they had been placed in the same group as him. Though if he was honest he wasn't sure he could disagree with. "Then are you a shiba perhaps?" Jin asked, as if knowing was as important as the MBTI, instead of a buzzfeed test. "Oh! Yes! That was jungkookie's album name." He chuckled fondly, the young singer was the only one who could hold that title in his group. "Wouldn't that make you that disney princess with the long hair?" Her hair was made yellow thanks to the sun's magic, he remembered

A soft clink as she sets her cup down, well-manicured fingertips pressed to her lips. ❝ Mmm... the charmingest. If Shakespeare didn't write it, I'm not quite sure if you're allowed to claim it. ❞ Eyes flickering towards the phone, tilting her head as she studies the images. It was adorable, really. Pause measured, gaze now gliding towards his screen then back to his face. ❝ Hm. I see it now. He does have that... aloof housecat energy. You realize this means you're officially the dog in this metaphor, right? A golden retriever? Loyal, affectionate, a little too eager to please... ❞ Letting the words hang, a small sweet smile tugging at her lips, her radiance making it impossible to take her teasing too seriously.

He did not but he wasn't going to take it back now, still the chuckle that followed probably told her that he was simply joking as the idol was known for his particular sense of humor. "Right!" He agreed right away to her words, yoongi was high on his house cat energy, Jin would tease him from it along with his members. "I'm sure he naps under the sun too..." His words paused as he blinked at her a couple times. "I'm a golden retriever?" That one was a new one, he had gotten alpaca and hamster the most over the years, but a golden was a new one. "Wouldn't that be you? You are already golden." Jin teased back.

Half-sip, half-listening as ears perked at the narration, the words finally clicking. ❝ You... sent him a text on cat day? ❞ Does he even have a cat? Irrelevant, perhaps? Poised hand lowering the cup in deliberate slowness, an arched brow lifting in disbelief. ❝ Not his birthday. Not Christmas. Cat day. But oh, please don't mind me... I'm just wondering if Worldwide Handsome is as charming in person as everyone says... still deliberating... ❞ Then there goes a languid sip of her beverage, eliciting a faint smile in that angelic visage of hers.

Jin paused at her question, the idol thought it was quite obvious the reason why yet it seemed like only his group, and the fans, knew about the connection. "Yes." He said while elongating the e in yes, blinking until realization hit him at her following words. "I am the most charming one." He defended himself, pouty lips moving rapidly as he spoke. "I am the charmingest one out of the whole group." Did that word even exist? Jin didn't know and didn't stop to care, his honor was on the line. "I sent it because he is the cat." He finally explained. "He likes his own space, loves sleeping and he even looks like one..." Jin was already pulling his phone out to show the pictures of his bandmate and friend.

"But he was not amused for some reason." Jin shrugged as if sending his friend a congratulatory message on international cat day should be celebrated just like his birthday. "so...what are you doing?" Seokjin paused in the middle of his story as his eyes landed on his companion, confused blinks showing his emotion on his face.
