Sana frowned at the cryptic text. She was about to write a response when she heard a commotion and some excited squeals that sounded like Eva and Vilde. She wanted to check what’s going on, and as she neared the entrance to the garden she saw Yousef, in flesh, standing by the gate and sheepishly grinning at her.
“How… what are you doing here?”
“My sister failed a uni exam so she is staying in Oslo for a couple extra days, and I talked my parents into letting me stay with her.” Yousef’s grin spread all the way to his eyes before he continued. “I heard there’s quite an Eid party going on, with someone extra special throwing it. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
“Yes, there is.” Sana giggled, and realized she must’ve been staring at him like an idiot. Thank God she isn’t maintaining her ice cold reputation anymore, because she’s absolutely sure it wouldn’t survive tonight. She tried to at least control her wide smile a bit.
“What a wonderful surprise. You don’t look like you’re dressed for an Eid party, but I’m sure the hostess will let you join anyway,” she added in a playful tone.
“Come on in.”
Sana took two steps towards the rest of party, pointedly ignoring the entire Los Losers nearby eavesdropping and throwing her meaningful looks, but Yousef stood still.
“You… you look even more beautiful in person.”
Sana’s face matched Yousef’s shy grin.
“Thank you.”
