Post canon Rumi telling Mira and Zoey that they're forgiven for the event of the movie. That she doesn't care, and she doesn't blame them, except Rumi in an very Rumi typical emotionally unavailable fashion is lying.
She does blame them, she is angry, she had been hanging by a thread for years and they took their weapons and cut that thread. They believed it was her, they knew it was her, there was no accusing her of being an imposter or asking where she is, they spoke to her...not a demon impersonating her and still raised their weapons. Still betrayed her.
Her self-loathing justifies it for her. It's why she ignores it. It's why she pushes down every flare of upset at them for it because well... she kind of deserved it.
But as she loves herself more, the more she is angry at them.
The other two are aware Rumi isn't as fine as about the idol awards as she lets on. She refused to even look at the contract selling the rights to takedown, she doesnāt spar with them when weapons are involved...even the fake ones, if they tug her clothes even a little she tenses, they sometimes hear the aftermath of nightmares....and fuck they feel guilty for it but its fine because Rumi let's them help with those things.
She let's them ease her into being comfortable around their weapons again, working up for hand to hand to actually showing their honmoon weapons for real.
She's slowly more and more okay with them and her clothes. She even let Mira help her shrug off a coat after getting home the other day
When she has nightmares, she lets Zoey into the room to bring her down from the following breakdowns.
Rumi is okay, she's letting them in.
Except she's not okay, she's so angry, and those little acts of care from them sometimes only make her angrier.
Maybe she's having a bad day, and she's short with them. Quiet, passive-aggressive when she does speak, resting bitch face, shooting down things she'd normally welcome. Zoey and Mira let it happen for a bit, we all get in a mood sometimes and they figure this is another sign of Rumi's improvement, she's showing her emotions.
Except the bad days become a pattern, she gets meaner every so slightly each time.
It comes to a head when one of the other girls snaps back at her.
I vote Zoey because she deserves a chance to be one of the ones getting pissed off for a change. She deserves a break from being the unproblematic understanding mediator
They get into an argument over what the fuck is Rumi's problem, she's being a bitch for absolutely no reason, why?
Rumi insists that it's fine. They're being crazy, just because she gets a little annoyed sometimes means nothing. Of course, they aren't having it.
"Why won't you tell us, remember last time we kept secrets? You can trust us!"
"Oh, I think the last time I kept secrets is proof of exactly why I can't trust you."
And it's a slap in the face. She's spent so long assuring them that she forgives them for the Idol Awards, they were just starting to forgive themselves.
