I feel like maybe shen jiu might not like blue/green (the original word '青' is character that can be used for both) because he was made to wear it, being the qing jing peak uniform colour.

He probably hated violet from his time in the qiu manor, and wouldn't have worn colours when he was with wu yanzi because a) poor and b) draws attention (which is obv bad for robbing and murder 😍).

So he gets to CQMS and maybe he was the tiniest bit excited to be there (and be a proper cultivator), only to have any shred of hope burnt away with how he is treated by his martial siblings, how he felt left behind with his cultivation being damaged/flawed, riddled with heart demons from thinking his only friend had left him to be beaten, starved and treated as less than an animal.

But he couldn't leave the sect because he didn't have any other viable option, (and he still held hope that maybe something HAD happened and qi ge did want/try to come back) but yue qi said nothing and now he is stuck in the place that turned him into yue qingyuan.

From one owner to the next, violet and green are both like a shackle to him. Violet reminding him of the worst years of his life and green reminding him of all the ridicule he faced in cqms + the whole rich boy persona he feels he has to put on and that he is never free to be himself. (or that he won't be loved/accepted because the one person he was himself around supposedly left him to die😘)

ANYWAYS 🤗🤭 here is shen jiu in orange, he snuck away to a secret place to take a rest in a colour that reminds him of something nicer, like a ripe fruit.
