ATTENTION! ALL IMVU USERS WHO BUY/SELL ART, PLEASE READ! THIS IS IMPORTANT!!

I was just informed by the lovely @kitsunedonoimvu that IMVU is no longer allowing users to transfer credits in exchange for texture files or art such as DPs. You can read more about that here. Anyway, apparently if IMVU catches you doing so, your account will be put at risk. 

“How would IMVU know if we are transfering credits for a DP/texture file?” (I know, I had the same question.)  

-  They’re eyeing all our accounts for credit transfers if the person particularly has a large amount of credits. (KitsuneDono) 

Basically what this means is everyone’s going to have to use paypal as their payment methods. Which definitely is not convenient for everyone. But it’s either that or risk being disabled.

If you have vip or creator status just make stickers to get around this. Commission a dp? Buy the corresponding sticker.

I finally woke up and re-read the topic. ok so this is what I can get so far after reading ALL THE POSTS on that thread. This is going towards those who sell imvu textures and accept credit transfer as payment. They are saying this is “violating” the creator’s products or something and that they will no longer allow ppl to accept credits as payment when selling imvu files/taxtures. They never mentioned anything about artists accepting credits as payment. So I believe credit transfer for badge grant or art purchase is ok for now. But what Whims posted, be careful about credit transfers. Once they see the amount you send to someone that’s incredibily high, they might disable your account. This is why most artists are completely changing to paypal for caution. Now what about sticker payment? It depends what is the use of stickers? They haven’t explained if we can use it to grant badges we own or creating custom products since they’re both IMVU related. We’re waiting for them to give a full explaination if we can still send credits for art purchase or custom product purchase. Other than that, YOU CANNOT SELL FILE OR TEXTURES and take credits as payment from now on. That is all I can get from the thread. But I would advise everyone to change to paypal as payment for now. I hope this clears up for the fellow artists

Yeah it’s only selling creating texture files or meshes that’s not permitted through imvu credits or sticker payment to get converted to cash. You have to sell off site via PayPal. P.s. Textures are creating textures. NOT display pictures.

Art is fine (for now). But I’d avoid payment via sticker & direct transfer and use PayPal as the option for payment.

Stickers have been used for a long time as alternate payment method, developer makes them and adds the intended profit, customer buys them and receives their art/mesh/texture/badge. They have been used to to get cash payments from credit amounts too since resellers were disabled.

I’m still only receiving credits transfer for my items but had support stickers in the past. I’m hesitant to keep them up as imvu may think people are buying files when they are paying for customs.

Using stickers to sell badges has always been looked down on, but as far as I know it’s completely fine? Pretty sure the same goes for direct transfer for badges. But don’t quote me on this because I don’t believe we’ve ever had clarification on that.
