Hello! Iâve been looking around for good wolf patterns to practice on and play with and i keep seeing your +laying down Lycanroc plush+. Which is weird cause it doesnât seem like youâre selling it. Obviously, I would never ask you for the pattern (I can only guess how many hours of fine tuning that took) but of all your plushies, for me, the Lycanroc looks so clean! The outline is so good! If you have any interesting tips for making a wolf like face (or the legs or the tail it all looks so good!) for a pattern that would be awesome! But if not thatâs cool too!
Either way, Iâm just here to say Iâm only on my fifth plush (havenât made my own although I have modified some) but I hope one day my plushies look as clean (like sleek? Or cohesive? Thoughtful? Opposite of messy lol?) as yours! Thanks for sharing <3
Thank you! I'd say a wolf like face is like a pony face, with a longer muzzle, ha ha. If you can't get a base pattern going, you can try sculpting it, cover the clay model in plastic wrap and masking tape, draw the pattern lines, cut it out. Then test and adjust the pattern until it's what you want. Of course, that requires the ability to sculpt too.
For pointy tuft shapes like on the tail, make sure the pointy parts aren't too narrow or they'll bunch up unpleasantly. You want them closer to a 90 degree angle. And when a pattern is just two matching pieces, instead of cutting out around the pattern with seam allowance... just pin the two sides of fabric together and sew them together like that, AND THEN cut them out.
For other tips... for Lycanroc there are curves and zigzags on the head and body. For things like that you have to be really precise. I mark and pin a lot to make sure it's matching up in general but for these I also hand stitch before machine sewing.
