BSD Chapter 94

"At the Airport - Part 4"

Very short chapter this month. I will try to make this writeup short too XD

Please note that I don't speak English nor Japanese as my native languages so I do make mistakes here and there. Please let me know if you find anything you would like me to correct.

SPOILERS AHEAD

- Fukuchi was surprised to find no-one in the room. He did not hear the sound of the door opening, nor there is no closed space that one could hide inside. He started to wonder if there was really someone. Because all he's got is the light and the shooting sound from the camera. He doubted that it might be just another setup from ADA, that they might have installed some timed device inside the room, to trick him into thinking that he had been seen, then make him destroy the room and expose Bram's location.

- Though Fukuchi thinks it is unlikely for ADA to have enough time to set that up, he still can't let it go because he knows Ranpo is there. He planned to use his sword to cut into the past and leave a warning to his past self about this (the same trick he used when fighting Tachihara), but when he was about to do so, he heard an explosion. He tried to get in touch with the other Hunting Dogs member but the connection has been cut. He realized that it is a very bad sign because with this explosion, he might not be able to get his hand on "that" (presumably One Order). He then left immediately to deal with it, leaving Bram's coffin inside the room, with Aya hiding inside.

- Turned out, because Fukuchi didn't see who took his picture, he assumed that it was an adult. And the space in the coffin is only big enough for a kid to get in, that's why he overlooked it. Aya was thinking that she would wait a bit more before getting out, but Bram woke up and asked her who she was and what she was going to do, and that depending on her answers, she would have to pay for this crime by her blood.

- Two guys of the One Order transportation team are seen on an airplane. The older guy came in the cabin saying he heard the sound of something falling, which scared off his teammate who was flying it. He then added that it is the sound of the world falling into darkness. They then talked about how important the mission this time is and the failure to hand over One Order will result in the world falling.

- Back to Anne's room, Atsushi is asking Ranpo how they could win against the European escort team, as most of them are strong ability users. Atsushi tells Ranpo that it will take hours, even days to set up traps to interfere with them, but Ranpo says it only takes 1 second. Because they only need to make the European guys think that it is dangerous to hand over the weapon and decide to retreat. Atsushi asks him how they could do that, and Ranpo smiles, asking Atsushi if he had already forgot that the ADA are terrorists now.

Fun fact from the first drafts of the Hunting Dogs in Volume 21.

Tachihara originally had a scar under his bandage. But Harukawa35’s notes in the draft actually says, “Maybe its better if there is nothing underneath at all.”

And that’s how the bandage became the disguise and also the switch between Hunting Dogs! Tachihara and Port Mafia! Tachihara.

To whom will Captain let his guard down the most? Who will be the most difficult for him to deal with?

Is that the Vice captain? Or Tecchou-san?

BSD Manga Update, End of Uploads

Regretfully, I have to make the announcement: I’ll no longer be posting BSD manga chapters on any social media platform. It’s been a fantastic run and I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly, as I hope you guys have too, but it has reached its end.

The reason is, yeah, related to the deletion of all my social media accounts last month. Because of the specific way my accs were sought out at that time, it turns out to be very likely that measures such as changing or holding separate accs will end the same way. I tried to come up with solutions when the last update rolled around, but with things being like that, plus the unexpected level of stress I experienced by trying and knowing the extent to which my personal data was approached… well, I see it really is time to call it off.

The only thing I wanna say is “thank you”, for everything during these years!! I’ve been treated nothing but wonderfully, always as “Red” and never just “a provider” and I’m super thankful for it. The respect, consideration, kindness and sense of community I’ve been given by the BSD fandom is without comparison, not to mention the support this last month.

I only hope you will understand my position here.

Of course, I’ll still happily remain in the BSD fandom and continue with my writing and meta activity, as well as doing minor translation things such as particular dialogue and disambiguation wherever I can help. I still love this series and I’d like to continue to enjoy it with everyone! See ya.
