we need a fandom dictionary, one that translates from anti movement rhetoric to non-extremist fandom words.

bad (adj.) – not morally wholesome.
dark content (abuse, noncon/dubcon, torture, etc)
would be abusive irl (csa, most incest, etc)
non-vanilla nsfw content (kink, etc.)
not progressive enough if one ignores all marginalization intersections except queer/non-cis/non-straight (het when it ‘could be’ non-straight; shipping the less-respectable non-straight ship instead of the more-respectable non-straight ship; shipping mlm instead of wlw; shipping mlm if you’re not mlm yourself)
child (synonyms: kid, minor) (n.) – (1) anyone 17 or younger, fictional or real. (2) irl: any anti arguing with a person who is older than themselves. (3) in fiction: the younger character in any ship described as ‘pedophilia’ by antis. (4) any irl person/character determined to deserve protected status in fandom.
occasionally 18+ individuals can still be ‘a child’ if it is more convenient to the argument.
teens/adolescents are also ‘children’.
most references to children in the discourse refers to post-pubescent/teenage characters.
‘children’ have the same sexual awareness, interest, and maturity whether they are 7 or 17: none.
imagining teenaged/adolescent characters as having sexual awareness or interest is therefore exactly the same as imaging a first grader having sexual awareness or interest.
not responsible for their actions or the harm they might cause.
unable to harm anyone older than them.
real ‘children’ are the ultimate authority on fictional ‘children’. The experiences of present adults when they were minors are invalid reference points.
adult (n.) – (1) anyone 18 or older, fictional or real. (2) irl: anyone older than the person using the word ‘adult’ disengenuously. (3) in fiction: the older character in any ship described as ‘pedophilia’ by antis.
real minors may be treated as ‘adults’ if they consume or create fanworks for ‘bad’ ships.
all ‘adults’, 18 to 80, are of the same sexual maturity, interest, and awareness: fully sexually aware and mature.
only ‘adults’ can be sexual predators.
the older character in an age gap pairing is a predator.
