hi everyone! yinyi here! i’ve been so excited for the rp to open and have been just sitting here with bated breath. and now that the day has come i don’t even know where to start. i guess i can start by introducing my daughter. this is yunmi, the oldest twin in the shim house, born a mere 11 minutes and 38 seconds before her sister, but she’ll always say it was a day because well... it technically was a day. anyways! she’s a nervous wreck of a child and doesn’t really know what she wants in life besides doing something in fashion. she owns a stall in the bimikil market square where she sells custom made clothing and accessories.

tldr;
she was born on january 7th, 2000 at 11:55pm in yunhwa, south korea. her mother is a tailor at madam micha’s, only because she was good at it and made decent money. her other hated her job with a passion and held a grudge against her own mother for making her learn. her father is a security guard at the town hall.
yunmi and yunhee grew up in the care of their grandparents as their parents worked long hours and didn’t have time themselves to worry about the two girls at home. yunmi learned the craft from her grandmother and would spend all day inside sewing, knitting, and crocheting. growing up, she pricked herself more times than she can count, but she enjoyed it anyways.
her parents always had different plans for her, and so when they saw that she was deviating from their plans they weren’t happy. they tried their hardest to convince her to do something else, anything besides fashion and sewing. but her grandma was supportive of her. she slipped all the money she had saved up and told her to apply to a school in paris.
and so yunmi found herself on a plane to paris the next summer, spending two wonderful years in the beautiful country of france and learning all the techniques and designing tidbits that one could only learn from professionals. her dream almost felt reachable until news came from korea that her grandmother had passed away. the one person who cared about her, gone.
yunmi immediately dropped everything and flew back to korea. in a sheer panicked moment. but now that she was back, she didn’t know what to do with herself. her home no longer felt like home without the presence of her grandmother. she didn’t feel like she had the heart to back to school anymore when she lost the one thing that mattered to her.
using what was left of the money her grandmother gave her, yunmi desperately grabbed at anything that could possibly make her feel like herself again. she bought a stall in the market in hopes that by practicing her craft and having some roots, she would be able to find herself. somehow she would try to make a home for herself in the little town she grew up in. or maybe she’ll realize her wings were made to be spread and she would take flight instead. but for now, the stall was her everything. mimi’s mini modiste was all she needed.
wanted connections
childhood friends - yunmi grew up in town all her life. although her closest friend is her sister with whom she did everything, it would be nice for her to have other friends as well. classmates, childhood playdates, people she used to be close to but rarely ever talk anymore, bestfriends from birth, that type of thing
crushes-that-pretend-to-be-just friends - i just think that it would be cute to have mutual pining, but they both think neither one likes the other, so they’re “just friends.” nothing has to come from this, btw.
used-to-be-friends - people she used to be super close with, but then due to circumstances and misunderstandings, or because one or the other moved away they’re not as close anymore. depending on the situation, they could even be full on enemies.
mutual friends - people she met through other people, or even her sister.
casual friends - growing up in a small town, you pretty much know everyone. maybe they’re not close, but they’re on good terms and will even hang out sometimes when there’s no one else
yumni is very trusting, almost to a fault, so she wouldn’t even realize it if someone was using her for their means. she’s a people-pleaser upon that as well. so having someone pretend to be her friend just to get free stuff or to get her to do things for them is always wanted.
family. it’s a small town, there’s bound to be cousins and half-cousins, and cousins twice removed, and cousins not by blood but by bonds, around here somewhere.
people who frequent her stall looking for cute accessories and to browse her catalogue of completed clothing pieces. she makes homemade brooches, bows, and head bands. for the guys she also has handmade ties, neck ties, and pocket squares.
anything and everything. my brain is tofu right now, i’ll add more later.
eunsang gives a thoughtful hum as he sets his empty takeout container in the space between himself and yunmi. as per usual, they’re discussing the fish mascot’s mischievous antics over a shared lunch. also as per usual, she has no idea that he’s the fish. there had been a time when that fact made him nervous, but the topic has come up so many times that he can discuss it with ease now, only the occasional too-quick reply threatening to give him away. he wipes his hands on the legs of his corduroy pants, then leans back just enough to let the afternoon sunlight warm his face and chest. he’s comfortable like this: stomach full, body warm, secret safe.
“have you found out who the fish is yet?” he asks, turning his head vaguely to the side to eye his old friend before he’s looking upwards again, towards the clouds. there’s no point to the question, really, because there’s no way in hell yunmi could find out and not immediately call him out on it. the anticipation of her reaction is half the reason why he’s still pretending to be just as clueless as she is; he’s let it go on for so long now that he’s sure it’ll paint him in a bad light. “if they did the debby ryan hair tuck, then it’s gotta be someone who keeps up with trends.”
someone like himself, but also half of yunhwa’s younger population. the more he pays attention, the more he realizes how many city kids are moving in, how many of them he can make pop-culture references to and actually be understood. in this situation, it works in his favor… but he should really just tell her. “they must be really bored if they’re hitting on you, though,” he teases, lifting one hand from where it had been resting on the ground to shove her shoulder playfully.
ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ yunmi looks up from her food, letting out a tiny huff as her friend reminds her once again of her biggest headache at the moment. the fish mascot seemed to take over all of her thoughts as of recently, but not in a good way, more of a nerve-wracking cycle of her questioning herself and whether or not his actions actually meant anything. it didn't help either that her friends liked to pull her leg and would either tease her or tell her that she was thinking too much about it. eunsang was, to her dismay, part of the former group, which was evident from his words.
❛ if i knew who they were we wouldn't still be talking about it right now, sang-ah, ❜ she responds, letting out the longest sigh she could muster, as if she had been holding her breath and was just waiting for the moment to release. the headache over the whole situation coming back for a moment. all she wanted to know was what the motives could be for someone to do that to her, if only for a bit of relief so that she could venture back onto the beach again without worrying about a fish person falling in love with her.
❛ i wouldn’t even know what the ‘debbie ryan hair tuck’ was if it wasn’t for you, ❜ she says, noting his comment about the little action the fish had pulled on her recently, a tiny smile falling on her lips as she remembered the fiasco from last week when she had re-enacted the fish’s motions to her friend and instead of helping her, he had laughed instead. thinking about it now rather than her panic in the moment, it really was funny how worked up she was over something so silly, ❛ i mean, how was i supposed to know it was trying to tuck hair back when the costume doesn’t even have hair? ❜
she looks up at her friend when he speaks his next words, the eyebrows creasing as her lips formed a small pout, ❛ what’s that supposed to mean? ❜ she retorts back weakly, giving him a gentle shove back with her shoulder in retaliation, ❛ are you saying people would only flirt with me when they’re bored? ❜
with the shifting of the season, signaling the third year she has been back, things start to become normal again for the young girl. the pieces of the town she seemed to hate began to fade slowly as she found once again the things that made yunhwa feel like home to her. the flowers, her friends and family, the little bursts of life that bloomed in the blossoms upon the flowers and trees. this was the yunhwa she grew up with and the yunhwa that she forgot still existed.
growing up, the spring equinox festival had been her very favorite time of year. for one, because there was always so much going on and so many things to do, but also because who doesn’t like the idea of incoming spring?? after the bitter winters that seemed to go on forever, it was a nice breath of fresh ( warm! ) spring air that was much needed to rejuvenate her spirits and signal that she could finally break out the dress she bought last summer and never wore ( something about taking the tag off clothes just brings out a different sort of excitement in her ).
there are tons of people here, but daeun is looking for one particular person, eyes scanning left and right until they finally land on a familiar figure. she runs toward her closest friend, looping arms with her before she finally opens her mouth. “surprise! it’s me!” she laughs, then smiles affectionately at the other girl. “how is your stall going? i hope you saved some pretty things for me! oh, but look what i brought!” she takes a charm out of her bag, a pink flower that she had made attached to a small chain loop, presenting it to yunmi with a flourish. “tada! it’s a shoe charm! i thought it would be fitting for today, with all the flowers and everything, and i even have a matching one!” daeun kicks up her left foot, showing off her own blue daisy that she had made in a last minute effort to customize her outfit for today as well.
“do you happen to have any flower crowns?” she asks suddenly as she hands her friend the charm. “or can we go make some flower crowns????” because what are best friends for, if not for matching, right?
ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ yunmi’s favorite time of the year was always spring. the symbol of growth and beauty was always something that fascinated her. her favorite part of it was getting to spend it with her best friend, daeun, each spring symbolizing another year in which the two of them were in each other’s lives. harboring the same dreams, the two had been each other’s biggest supports for the longest time. daeun being one of the people she had missed the most while she was away in france, but when she came back it was as if time hadn’t changed for the two of them, and they were back to being inseparable as always.
as with each year that the two had grown up together, from matching ribbons and frilly dresses with the puffed up shoulders that mothers liked to put their daughters in, to the now more refined sundresses, she had hoped that the two of them would be able to once again, but as the two of them became responsible adults with jobs, the carefree days as children they used to have seemed like a fleeting dream. luckily, for her she had sold out of her items for the day and had time to herself to wander the festival with the promise of returning the next day. it was only when she was viewing some glass figurines at one of the other stalls when she felt someone next to her.
yunmi smiles brightly as her best friend loops her arm through hers, ❛ daeunnie~ ❜ she greets in a sing songy voice, head turning from the handmade glass figurines in front of her to focus on her best friend, a feeling of nostalgia washing over her as she takes her friend’s hand, ❛ of course i saved the prettiest things for you, how could i forget my best friend? they’re at home though so i’ll have to give them to you later, ❜ she responds with a little laugh, dragging her friend away gently so that other people could enjoy the stall that they were standing in front of.
her smile brightens as she takes the little charm away from her friend, holding it up in the light to admire the little details of the flower, ❛ it’s so cute, ❜ she responds enthusiastically, looking at the little charm that is also dangling off the laces of her friend’s shoes, ❛ we should find a less crowded place so i can put it on to match with you. ❜
❛ oh, yes! i do have flower crowns! ❜ she responds proudly, ❛ but i like the idea of making fresh ones ourselves, ❜ she continues, ❛ after all fabric flowers hold nothing on the real thing. ❜
ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ it had been almost three hours since she had finished setting up and she had yet to have a single customer come by. people would stop for a moment to look and then wander off, some even promised that they would come back later but she had yet to see anyone deliver on their promise. yunmi was starting to think that she wouldn’t be able to sell anything today. a sad thought as she had been working on preparation for so long. without even intending to, the girl found herself people watching out of pure boredom, hoping that someone would notice her stall and come wandering by (and hopefully actually buying as well).
after a few moments, her eyes caught sight of someone looking her way and for a moment she wished she hadn’t. standing a little ways away from her was her favorite cousin, considered a hero by most, but was only a menace in her life she wished didn’t exist. sadly, even if he didn’t exist there seemed to be another in her life ready to wreak havoc in his stead. yunmi had half a mind to turn away and pretend she didn’t see him, move on with her day without the need to speak to him at all.
but yunmi was bored, and desperate for some human interaction. and she was about to do something she would probably regret.
raising her hand, the young girl waves at her cousin, a strained smile making its way onto her lips, ❛ gisu oppa! ❜ she calls out to him, hating to the very core of her being that she had to show him any form of respect whatsoever, the word leaving a bitter taste. ❛ you’re not busy right? come see what i’m selling. ❜

ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ at first, she had been nervous at the thought of bringing yuno with her to the festival, had wondered if this was such a good idea. it wasn’t the accessory around his neck that worried her, not when she had used him to model many other things before. his face showing annoyance whenever she placed him into another garment, but he never made a move to swat anything off. she was more afraid of how he would handle being around people. as the twins had found him wandering around outside a few years back, only bringing him home with them when he seemed to follow them and wouldn’t leave their side. they were uncertain what his history was with humans, but the way he acted around her parents gave them a little sneak peak into his issues with humans in the past.
introducing him to so many humans all at once didn’t seem like the best idea, but she also knew that he could be good. they had gone on walks in the past and he was always mostly indifferent towards people, they would come up and give him pets and he’d allow it for a moment before walking away from them, signalling for yunmi to continue the walk as well. she was hoping that it would be the same now as well.
and it was… for the most part. yuno had adapted quickly to his surroundings, had found a sunny patch upon the stall tabletop to rest and laze, only looking up curiously when passersby and patrons would stop and pet him for a bit. she had almost thought that the day would pass by swell, when she looked up from her needlework for a moment to find yuno hissing at someone, his tail grew to twice its size in fright.
❛ yuno, stop it, ❜ she commands, as she picks him up gently and places him her lap, yet the hissing wouldn’t stop and he looked like he was ready to pounce out of her arms and towards the other at any moment, ❛ i am so sorry about this- ❜ she speaks as she looks up at the victim, a smile of recognition falling on her face as she sees who it is, ❛ oh! it’s you! how are you? ❜

i have decided to follow the masses and will be focusing on event things at the moment. i’m so sorry i’m so slow with everything else, i am trying my best and life just won’t let me. but with that being said, i still want to participate in the event, so please give me more things to work on.
yunmi will have a stall at the festival that’s open from 8:00am-5:00pm for all three days and she’ll be selling exclusive accessories. so if anyone wants yunhwa flower inspired headbands, clip ties, neck ties, brooches, brooches, or lapel pins, do come through. i also have some small ideas for the event as well that i have listed. so if you’d like one of them, please comment with the number and i’ll write us a starter. if you want to plot something as well, please like this post and i’ll come to you for plotting.
1. you were wandering the festival minding your business when you met eyes with a bored yunmi who hasn’t had a customer yet. much to your dismay, she excitedly waves you over and wouldn’t take no for an answer and now you’re stuck as she gives you a business spiel you never asked for. @yhisu
2. she had been working the stall the whole day and had forgotten to eat, as the nice friend/patron you are, you decided to bring the young entrepreneur some food for nourishment. before she could even decline, her belly betrays her with a gurgle. seems you’ve won this round. @yunheeyh
3. while setting up her stall for the day, she accidentally knocks over a box of item. as an early patron/other stall owner you decide to help the poor girl pick up her bows and ribbons that were strewn all over the ground. @kiwooyh
4. while tending to her stall, yunmi who had been preparing for the festival with very little sleep in the past month, found it hard to stay awake with the warm sun against her back. as you are viewing her selection, you notice the owner of the stall slowly dozing off on you. @yhmiso
5. as she wanted to try to start getting into pet accessories as well, the young girl had decided to bring the family cat, yuno, out to model a new bow she made just for pets. while the cat enjoyed the freedom he doesn’t usually get and would just laze in the sun while patrons would come to pet him, something about you seems to set him off and he won’t stop hissing. @keyuyh
jiho wasn’t the biggest fan of the spring festival, much less the crowd and yunmi knew that. she knew him better than anyone and could easily read him like a book. that’s what best friends were for, jiho believed.
thanks to that, the girl invited him to hike the boowan trail and check the blossoming flowers there. he instantly loved the idea, some peaceful time away from the world and with the perks of being able to mess with yunmi and watch her go pouty. he wish he could say he had prepared something for their little time himself, but all he could do with his inexistent cooking skills was stuff his backpack with snacks and cola he bought at the market and hope she would consider it a picnic.
it was the middle of the afternoon when they sat down in a flower field, with the song from the festival echoing in the distance. “heavens. perfection.” he says with a smile as he closed his eyes and allowed the faint sunrays kiss his cheeks. “don’t ruin it.” he peeks at the girl with a smirk, sensing she was about to tease him.
ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ she always enjoyed this time of the year the most, had been one of the things that she missed when she was away. there were no yunhwa flowers in france, and certainly no festival that celebrated the very flower that she was sitting in a field of at the moment. the faint fragrance of the flowers wafting in the air around them each time a small breeze passed through the clearing. her gaze is focused on the flowers around her, fingers lightly grazing against the petals as she drowns out the distance thrumming noise coming from the festival below them.
the sound of her companion’s voice cuts through her revelry and she turns her head slightly, glancing at him from the corner of her eye and notices that he was doing the same thing as her as well. at that moment, she was glad that she had suggested for the two of them to come out here. as she noticed that the harsh lines on jiho’s face seemed to have smoothened out and for once he looked relaxed, she couldn’t help but muse about that quietly to herself. her hand, which had reached out unconsciously to try smooth out the rest of the anger lines (and also to check and see if this jiho was actually real) retracts at his warning, a tiny pout falling on her lips.
❛ do you have x-ray vision or something? ❜ she huffs indignantly, plucking a flower from the ground beside her, throwing it at him with a playful glare, the little bud gently falling against him before rolling off, lost in the field of its patrons, ❛ your eyes were closed, how did you even sense that? ❜
we dream of moments like this, so soft they live in our memories like downfeathers on strong wide wings. sweet smelling, heather-scented moments. these moments of gentle dawn colored rain. can you feel how your withered heart opens up? it's ready to heal.
i. travel - bol4
Take me to London, Paris, New York City
Falling into these beautiful cities
Like I’m a bird bird, like the flying birds
Freely fly fly, I can breathe
one of yunmi’s dreams is to one day leave yunhwa for good, not just a temporary thing, but never to return again. to one day be able to never look back on the memories that give her pain, or the feelings of unworthiness that she grew up feeling. this song gives her hope that one day she would be able to do so, taste the feeling of freedom she felt in paris. forever.
ii. falling again - klang
Can I fall in love again?
Maybe you're the one I needed
To take it all away
This pain
Can you fall in love with me?
And tell me that you'll care for me
as a hopeless romantic, yunmi can’t help but love the idea of love. no matter how many times she’s been hurt in the past, a part of her is still open to idea of the finding love. though she does so in very unhealthy ways, constantly seeking love in the wrong place and with the wrong people.
iii. bubblegum k.k.
I want you to smile
And remember every good time
We had when skies were grey
oh, Bubblegum dear
Why are you crying?
I’ll never let them take
My Bubblegum away.
like everyone else she also got sucked into the world of animal crossing when the game came out. her favorite song, as cliche as it is was bubblegum kk. the song was whimsical and made her smile. yet the lyrics, if anyone actually took the time to look, were sad.
iv. wonder - shawn mendes
I wonder, wouldn't it be nice
To live inside a world that isn't black and white?
I wonder what it's like to be my friends
Hope that they don't think I'll forget about them
rather than the lyrics of the song that gets her, it’s the somber feelings of the song. this is a song that it came out she would play a lot during her trips to busan, to block out her blocks and have it be just her and road ahead of her. nothing else mattered in that moment.
v. honey tea - oohyo
One, two, three, four
On my cheeks
a couple of tears fell down
I didn't know why
I felt this way
although it was weird
although it was a little sad
I somehow cried
because it was so sweet
this song reminds her that pain isn’t always painful, that there are times when pain is necessary to remind you that you’re human. this was something she needed reminding of very much when her grandmother had passed. that it was okay to be sad, that she didn’t need to hold it in or be strong. that even though she was losing the one person who supported her the most, grandma was in a better place now. sadness is also a human emotion.
vi. colors - halsey
You were red and you liked me 'cause I was blue
But you touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky
And you decided purple just wasn't for you
there was a time in her life when she thought that she could fix a person. that by showing them love that it would somehow make them better and heal them. she had hoped that she was enough, but when they left she realized that she was wrong. in the process of trying to fix someone else, she ended up ruining herself instead.
vii. if i were a bird - lucite tokki
This summer’s illness
Will not stop
This summer’s you
Has not fade away
This summer’s illness
Will not stop
Please get away from my side now
for the yunmi of the past, summer’s were the brightest moments of her life. a time when everything felt new and every moment was special. when smiles came easily, and even the sweltering sun didn’t bother her as she walked hand in hand with a certain someone. and now... summers were just a reminder of the her that she tried to leave behind when she went to paris.
the proximity of this town to busan is a blessing in disguise. sometimes, when his insides feel all twisted-up and plagued with anxiety - and the quiet of yunhwa seems to only make it worse - he’ll go somewhere distracting, a little more loud and crowded and busy. he’s beginning to think he has a dependency on big cities, ingrained like an inescapable habit. (though the state of his seatmate is not exactly putting him in ease, and he alternates glancing between her pale face and the view outside until he musters up the courage to ask what’s up).
and her answer has his momentary concern flaring up into something more. oh. there’s a rush of pure, unadulterated empathy that comes in a snap, and he presses the backpack in his arms to the window, nudging it up with his shoulder to properly block the view. “did - did she see you?”
as the bus rumbles into the highway, he thinks to ask the other, more alarming questions that should be coming to mind. “you’re not running away.. or something… are you?”
ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ her shoulder relaxes ever so slightly as the stranger puts his backpack up against the window, shooting him a grateful smile as she slumps back against the seat, the sound of her heart beating against her chest loud enough that she wondered if her companion could hear it too. he probably didn’t need to hear it to know that she was still panicked.
❛ i don’t think she saw me, thankfully, ❜ she responds, peeking outside the window once more, ❛ if she did, she would’ve tried to stop the bus, ❜ she continues, her humor dry, but a part of her knew that she wasn’t exactly joking. knowing her mother, the woman would never have let her leave the premises if she had been caught and yunmi would never see the light of day again.
❛ not quite running away, ❜ she admits to the other, as her attention falls away from the window and onto her new companion whom she had accidentally roped into her troubles, flashing him an apologetic smile before continuing, ❛ i just wasn’t exactly honest as to where i’m at, i just needed to get out of town for a night, that’s all. ❜ the issue now was that she had no idea where she would go now.
❛ oh! um... i’m sorry, by the way, for dragging you into this mess and causing you trouble. ❜
sejun’s one known for his chill nature, er well, he has been since he’s spent almost every day since then drinking as soon as the sun goes down. but a lot of it, he thinks, has to do with yunhwa, which is part of the reason he hasn’t left yet. the town is quiet, surrounded by rural lands that stretch both far and wide. there’s plenty of places to sit and paint, think and be alone. he finds a new place to paint every single day and something to bring to life in his paintings.
he’s set himself up in the plaza, watching people go about their daily lives in what’s maybe the busiest part of yunhwa, but not at all in terms of big cities. it’s comfortable, not overwhelming, and that’s part of the thing that sejun loves so much about using it as a place to paint. sejun’s hand scratches a pencil over in his sketchbook, warming up before he sets up his jars of paint thinner and palette.
there’s a few moments where he has to register a shadow that’s looming near. he looks up to see a young girl. “can i help you?” he says pausing his sketch of an old gentleman reading the newspaper. sejun offers a smile, knowing a lot of people tend to be curious in his art and in some cases, it can lead to a commission or at least, the promise of one in the future.
ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ yunmi had always enjoyed people watching and in a small town like yunhwa, more than likely she would be watching people that she knew which she found to be more fun. to see what auntie jiyoung from down the street was getting to make that dinner that day, or watching uncle changsuk drunkenly singing through the plaza at noon. the plaza was one of the most populated areas of the town and was always a favorite of hers. just watching people flittering through the plaza on their way to work, to go shopping, or just visiting thing convenient store at the gas station.
yet, today as she settled into her usual spot, she couldn’t help but notice the lack of foot traffic passing through the plaza. a peculiar thought that she concluded was just due to the fact that she probably decided to come at a bad time. her eyes then fell on someone sitting a little ways away from her, almost completely focused on the page of the sketchbook in front of him. she had almost thought she had gotten away with her completely obvious staring, until he spoke up and she glances up at him in surprise, cheeks turning a slight red in color at being caught in such a way.
❛ oh- i’m sorry, ❜ she speaks as a force of habit, giving him an apologetic smile in case she wasn’t supposed to be there and had somehow ruined his concentration with her presence, ❛ i just saw you sitting there and got curious... i’m not bothering you, am i? ❜
❛ your art looks nice from here though, can i ask what you’re drawing? ❜
ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ yunmi wasn’t the type to fall into the trap of the cheesy holidays. things like valentine’s and white day stopped holding meaning to her when high school ended, yet now she finds herself in the kitchen of a hotel suite, sorting out the ingredients that had been purchased recently on the counter. her eyes glancing up towards her companion standing next to her before falling back to the stuff in front of them.
this was something they had discussed on a whim, voices laced in a tone of a half jest, but when the day came she hadn’t expected them to actually go through with it until he had shown up to her house, the thought only beginning to sink in when they had arrived in busan and walked around the supermarket together to get the ingredients, realization only completely settling in her mind when they finally checked into the hotel and began to unpack all the items they had gotten.
❛ did we really need such a fancy hotel suite for this? ❜ she asks as she takes a cutting board that she had grabbed from her home out of her bag, placing it front of him, ❛ i would’ve been completely content with just eating instant jjajangmyeon while watching a movie on the floor of a dingy motel room... but... i have to admit... this is really nice though, ❜ she hums, as she picks up an apron, reaching up in order to drape it over his head and hands him an onion that had been sitting on the counter beside them, ❛ here, i’m making you cut the onions because i don’t want to start crying before the movie’s even started and i’m not listening to any complaints, ❜ she says, a small snicker leaving her lips as she gives him a once over, amused by how the apron seemed to change his demeanor completely, the flower print almost making him look... cute? but she wasn’t about to tell him that aloud.
❛ okay, turn around so i can tie the apron. ❜

it feels like an absolute honor to be in the presence with someone who she’s wanted to befriend since her kwangsook academy days. sure, she made no attempt to talk to shim yunmi in the past, so there was a moment in time in which she did the bare minimum to even try to get her attention. but the fact that she was talking to her at maru’s bistro of all places? she’s at least lucky she made sure to wear an outfit that wouldn’t stain her outfit and lucky to not be in the mood to stuff her face with jajangmyeon.
who is she to refuse a pretty girl from sitting at her table? if she did that, she’d never forgive herself for the possible future of a wonderful friendship!
“no-nothing! just shocked and amazed! that’s all!” she answers, trying her best to act as cool and nonchalant about it as much as she could. she clears her throat, hoping make sure that there was no sauce that got stuck in her throat. how embarrassing would it be to have her voice come out weird! “it’s nice to see you! what brings you here?”
ㅤㅤ.・。.・❀ ever since the young girl had come back from france, she had found herself changing from how she used. practically silent during her high school years, she now had some confident that she had picked up in france to do the things she never would’ve done before. such as approaching jaehee one day while the two were in maru’s bistro, her tray of food in hand asking the other if she could sit with her.
jaehee was someone that yunmi remembered from high school, she always noticed the cheerful girl in the halls and had always wanted to be more like her. friendlier, approachable, and more confident. despite the fact that she had been out of school for years now, there was still a part of her that still wished to befriend the younger.
she couldn’t help the tiny laugh that falls from her lips, a little of sigh or relief following it as well at how accepting the other was of her uninvited presence, ❛ shocked and amazed? why though? it’s just me, ❜ she responds, almost amazed herself that the other seemed to recognize her at all, ❛ oh, me? just getting a bite to eat after work. i, uh, i see you here quite often, you must really like it, huh? ❜
❛ also- um... is it- is it okay if i sit with you? ❜
