A blast from the past! Rosekun25 commissioned me to color an old sketch from 2017. It's a Hunchback of Notre Dame AU that came out of a prompt from Adrinette April that same year. I made a few changes from the original sketch in the process!

Hey guys, it has been a year!

I got to do some cool things, including making an avatar for a youtuber I watch, working on a second game, and doing some vis dev for a secret project over the summer, which was so cool but also overwhelming, hence the pic of me on my head, probably. Played a lot of Disney Dreamlight Valley, hit a milestone year and spent a lot of time staring into space and reassessing my life, as you do.

When I first compiled my art progress this year, I felt pretty disappointed. I hadn't really done much in the way of more ambitious projects, and it didn't look like I'd accomplished very much.

When I think about it though, it's been a bit of a tough art year! I switched up a lot of how I'm doing things (my tablet broke, so I'm using a smaller, borrowed one, I switched to Clip Studio about halfway through the year and have been learning that, and I've also been learning Affinity Designer and a bit of Blender.)

There's more of course, and certainly room for me to try and improve with time, but I don't feel quite so bad about it now.
