i wanna state that the ii season 1 characters are meant to represent highschoolers/young adults and to reflect their debut year fashion (2010s) as well. coming from someone who is under the non binary/gender neutral umbrella (bigender), i heavily wore sweaters/hoodies when i was figuring out my identity and reflected it onto their design as well to help put a bit more of story onto the designing purposes.

notice something interesting about their necklace? its because it is heavily inspired and influenced from native american culture!! from a portrait from a two-spirited native American with this exact necklace, i saw a post of headcanons for ii characters and saw them being headcanon with the two-spirit identity, coming from an background of native American culture, i found it cool that my culture was finally being featured and especially to something that i am fixated on. sooo yah, native American and black painty yippe :)

would you believe this is my SECOND time with this design?? you probably would though, anyways, i had a really hard time finding a style for her, my original design for her was heavily influenced by clarissasbakery; but it felt like i was straight up stealing it and i wasnt happy with that so i scrapped the idea and resigned her to something more original. Using the style from the yolo/mlg/swag 2010’s era to match her aesthetic, have to say- im really happy with more of this redesign!! it feels like it fits her more :)

as you can see, there are two color variations of this drawing, one that is more based off her original palette and the other being form the remastered version. wanted to add small details like the mismatch coloring on both drawings to show the difference with both the remastered and original yet being same somehow
