rezaphotography Full moon lovers Eastern Turkestan Altai Mountain On assignment for National Geographic Magazine. Only the rhythmical clopping of his horse’s hooves resonated in the plain of Mount Altai. The immense plain, in Eastern Turkestan, was plunged in darkness. In the blackness of the night, he could not make out anything. But he would be able to hear, from the sound of her footsteps, from where she would come and take him by surprise. As he passed the yurts in the camp, he listened to the people’s peaceful breathing, a reassuring sign that they were deeply asleep. He waited for her. Suddenly, a cloud unveiled the full moon, the only witness to their rendezvous. She was there. Text written by Rachel Deghati. Published in “War + Peace” (National Geographic Publishing, 2007), “Reza, entre guerre et paix” (National Geographic Publishing, 2008) and “Derrière l'objectif” ( Hoëbeke Publishing, 2010).

pale yurt against a mountainous landscape
I had to draw a tent only in black and white as homework in art class and I’m so proud of it because I suck at realistic drawings so much. qwq
I’m gonna give it my grandparents as a christmas gift, I hope they like it. :>

Song Kol, Kyrgyzstan
This hike was short, two days, but so nice. It was kind of a whim that I followed up on as there was time before my 9 day hike began to Khan Tengri. Stayed two nights in a yurt, ate a lot of bread and jam, and drank black tea.

To sleep free of torment: Yurts, Kyrgyzstan
Despite being -7 and at over 3000m, they are amazingly warm and comfortable, and gave me a night of perfect sleep
