This was a pinch piece. I volunteered to take it on because since October I’d had the idea for Jumin to be the King of Hearts (genderbent Queen of Hearts as opposed to the actual King of Hearts) since I drew an Alice in Wonderland themed picture for Inktober, and I’m really happy I was able to bring it to life. I’m not sure if I’m entirely happy about the design, but I’m very happy with the mood/tone of the piece and how perfectly mikan captured it in the fic, which I HIGHLY recommend everyone checking out.

This piece really challenged me when it came to backgrounds, angles, lighting and poses and I’m really glad that I took on that challenge because I feel that it turned out pretty good. The ultimate vibe is really domineering and it’s a mood I don’t normally try, given how bright and sparkly an artist I usually am (as you can probably tell by the alternate version).

RBB as a whole really pushed me past my limits and made me try things I never had before and I’m grateful for the experience as a whole. I really hope we get to do it again next year!

windows to the soul

This piece is one of two written for @mysme-rbb!! This project has been a huge push outside of my comfort zone for me, but it’s been a lot of fun and I’ve been very grateful for the opportunity to practice writing again 💜 

For this one, I was partnered up with @yusuuna to write about Yoosung! He was actually my very first love when I played the game in 2016, so while it was a real challenge to revisit him, there was something very nostalgic about writing this and my partner was an absolute pleasure to work with 😊✨ Please go check out her work, the piece she drew to accompany this fic is so beautiful and filled with love!!

Bit of angst, bit of fluff, bit of character exploration. We thought it would be really interesting to work with that adjustment period after Yoosung loses his vision in one eye; it’s amazing how much loss of eyesight can affect other things in your life, and while I did my best to research the effects accordingly, the portrayal might not be perfect. Still, I hope you can enjoy it!

“Does this make any sense to you?”

Yoosung squinted in concentration.

The writing sprawled across the paper already felt claustrophobic, small font crammed into the pages; even before she came along, Rina wondered how Yoosung had been able to manage any study like this.

It had been two months since his eyesight had become impaired, and yet it didn’t feel as if he was adjusting any easier to his new way of life.
