Last month marked the 10th anniversary of Sufjan Stevens' Carrie & Lowell, and Asthmatic Kitty Records is celebrating with the release of Carrie & Lowell - 10th Anniversary Edition on May 30. The anniversary edition features the original album plus seven previously unreleased demo versions, a 40-page art book, an alternate cover and a new essay by Sufjan. Following "Mystery of Love (Demo)," this newly released demo version of "Death With Dignity" - the song that helped define Carrie & Lowell as the first track on the album - is now available to stream in its earliest form.

Dude, how can it be that every single fucking thing about US politics trends on here immediately, yet when 27 countries in the EU vote and there's a historic, alarming lurch to the right (far right parties have won the elections in Italy, Austria and France), it's not even trending? In Germany, the AFD, a right-wing populist, anti-democratic, racist party with a wing that is officially extremist (read: Nazis) and is in parts monitored by the office for the protection of the constitution, is the second strongest party (also among 17-24 year olds!). Guess I'll die.
People really donāt understand that we as a world are not privileged enough to not vote in politics in any country.
If you have the ability and freedom to vote, you need to vote.
Iām honestly at the point of IDGAF if you dislike both parties. Pull your grown up pants on and choose the party that will 1. Give you the ability to find another candidate who actually has a chance of winning (Not bob smith orchid the third with a .05% chance of even getting noticed who wants to change the world unrealistically) and 2. Have your life, with in reason, continue as normal with rights and freedoms you had before.
Not voting with common sense is whatās going on right now. Everyone in the world is so black and white of āI canāt vote for him, he didnāt complete my 2,000 line check list but I canāt do the other guy either so Iām just not going to vote.ā

also noteworthy is that here in austria i've heard so many people who voted for the FPĆ (the most right wing party we have, a bunch of neo nazis who are both anti european union, pro putin, anti vaxx, and so on) justify it by saying they meant it as a "fuck you" to the other parties. or that they just weren't happy with how things are going right now so they wanted to voice their frustration and stick it to the other parties

and with the european elections you see the outcome too in case it somehow wasn't clear. if you don't vote or even vote for a conservative party because you can't bring yourself to vote for the slightly less right wing parties you are going to end up with the right wing neo fascists in power. you didn't stick it to anyone you just made the term until the next election hell for everyone. from endangering rights for women, queer people, and refugees, to actively stopping legislations that would combat climate change, to willfully ignoring humanitarian issues
