i wish yall would stop saying every character you like is “gay coded” when they really arent. like you can headcanon someone as being gay/lgbt or whatever without making up stuff abt ONE- who literally only wrote one gay character and that character was in drag and a literal rapist. like reigen isnt gay coded, hes gay culture, but he aint gay coded. most of the “gay coding” yall come up with is just bones giving him silly mannerisms too 

and! im not saying this to be mean! im just saying that words mean something and you can have gay headcanons without trying to invoke fake canon evidence. hes gay culture but he aint gay coded

when you say a character is gaycoded please examine what that means to you. “reigen is gay coded bc he wears a pink tie and crosses his legs and doesnt hit on women” doesnt…… mean anything. and i only really made this post bc i think its goofy that ppl claim homophobia at ppl hcing reigen as bi or even straight. straight!reigen is corny and boring but also its…. not homophobia in any serious capacity. it just flat out isnt and its silly for ppl to claim that it is

but more than that i just kinda find it obnoxious and a lil bit insulting to give ONE credit for gay characters when….. hes just a homophobe and doesnt know what a gay person is. idk man i love his work and mp100 is amazing but its also just an uncomfortable truth yall gotta live with that there isnt any gay rep in this otherwise good show. its smth to be critical of and its something that you can expand upon in fanworks and its something that means when we do find good gay rep made by gay authors we gotta uplift and support it

It’s also incredibly Western-centric to look at behaviors like leg crossing in a certain way in a Japanese character and claim that means something about his sexuality to you, a Westerner. Not all cultures perform straight masculinity the same way! In Japan it’s very common to see (all) men crossing their legs this way to take up less space/not bother others and to not point the bottom of their foot at someone. Other cultures don’t have our bullshit issues with color! Other cultures vary in how explicitly dudes pursue women! Please understand other cultures exist. Claiming anything that’s not performative American maschimo is gay coded is not great, yall.

I love to hc the mp100 characters as lgbt too but would also love seeing some acknowledgement not all straight (or gay, or bi, etc) people in every country act like American lgbt people do and that’s okay.
