ㅤ  ㅤ  ㅤ  this  was  a  morning  that  brought  about  an  entirely  different  mood  about  them  :      well  pressed  suit  and  swept  back  hair  ,  wire-rim  glasses  to  hide  the  ghost  of  dark  circles  that  were  telltale  signs  Eden  hadn’t  been  sleeping  well  —  Yuuki  would  know  —  before  he  had  had  to  join  the  table  ,  idle  pleasantries  opening  up  the  conversation  to  more  important  discussions  ,  about  shares  and  distributions  and  a  possible  helping  hand  to  expand  business  horizons  .  

ㅤ  ㅤ  ㅤ  Eden  was  only  here  for  two  reasons  , after all :      his  brother  was  occupied  ,  for  one  ,  and  two  —  to  make  sure  the  Baek’s  would  not  get  a  single  dime  from  the  Song’s  nor  the  Takanashi’s  .  not  when  Darian’s  sweet-tongued  stone-hearted  brother  was  around  ,  smiling  like  he  hadn’t  been  cursing  his  phone  alarm  off  just  two  hours  ago  ,  molten  gold  from  the  opulent  chandelier  overhead  glinting  off  the  moisture  on  his  lips  left  behind  by  the  honeyed  bellini  in  his  champagne  flute  .

ㅤ  ㅤ  ㅤ  his  tongue  darting  out  just  a  tiny  bit  as  if  to  savour  the  remnant  on  his  bottom  lip  ,  while  his  gaze  sweeps  a  lazy  trail  from  the  rest  of  the  table  to  the  man  sitting  across  him  ,  hint  of  mirth  creeping  up  into  blue  eyes  as  the  tip  of  his  tongue  tilts  upward  in  an  almost  teasing  ,  almost  inviting  gesture  ,  watching  garnet  hues  follow  —  the  nose  of  his  dress  shoe  doing  the  exact  same  thing  , stroking ever so gently upwards along  the  side  of  Yuuki’s  leg  underneath  the  table  .

ㅤ  ㅤ  ㅤ  close  your  eyes  .  Fuyumi’s  gaze  flickers  upwards  to  meet  Seo-jun’s  the  second  the  suggestion  is  made  ,  the  lights’  dim  warm  glow  barely  glinting  off  his  cold  hues  that  seem  to  be  tracing  every  inch  of  the  other  man’s  features  ,  looking  for  sincerity  perhaps  ,  as  if  the  latter  had  ever  given  him  anything  else  .  at  least  he  has  to  make  sure  it's  still  there  ,  for  now  .  

ㅤ  ㅤ  ㅤ  despite  everything  ,  shelter  ,  solace  ,  somewhere  to  go  back  to  after  today’s  long  gruel  --  blood  underneath  his  nails  --  he  still  feels  like  he  can’t  afford  to  blink  .  trust  is  a  hard  earned  thing  for  him  ;  does  he  trust  Seo-jun  just  as  much  (  as  little  )  as  Seo-jun  trusts  him  ?  why  would  he  trust  him  ?  

ㅤ  ㅤ  ㅤ  Fuyumi  takes  a  deep  breath  in  .  catches  it  in  the  base  of  his  throat  ,  before  he  looks  down  ,  then  to  the  side  ,  anything  but  at  the  man  before  him  ,  whose  hands  are  warm  where  they  wrap  around  his  own  when  they  guided  him  to  the  centre  of  the  room  ,  away  from  the  lingering  chill  at  the  entryway  by  the  door  .

been seeing screencaps of this particular cdrama around on xhs & i'm slowly getting tempted to watch it ... but knowing i don't have the patience for full length dramas , it'll probably have to wait another 10 years lol

but basically i'm a fan of the cliche opposites attract ok Ruo'xi's equally wild & pure at heart despite the age old rumours of fox spirits , i just think it'll be fun if she can pester someone who supposedly has & wants their life in order , be it for their family name / honour / influence / power ... 👉👈

someone spotting a scorpion or centipede " tattoo " on Xuan Yang but before they can ask about it the motif moves around like a real thing the exact moment Xuan Yang's eyes lock on them

also by centipede i mean it as something other people initially see as silvery / greyish bluish stripelike markings on the exposed part of his limbs / covering the expanse of his body , only when they see the whole thing or it moves in a coiling pattern that they realise it’s actually a giant centipede wrapped around him , manifested from cursed energy ;)

in the same breath i would like to apologise that while i talk a lot my replies are slow bc sometimes i'm the narrator than the character(s) , so ooc / lore building > ic writing , & i would be sad if i tried to churn something out " on time " & it ended up being a disappointment :(
