Marc being seen as the "benevolent God blessed with clarity of mind" irks me so much because it's such a complete rewrite of who Marc fundamentally is: a racing freak who takes no prisoners, a prick that will kill you with a smile on his porcelain face.
I like Marc as much as the next person, as you can see in most of my posts, but that doesn't mean that I like how he is being portrayed in recent times by most interviewers and fans. He is being portrayed as the most graceful rider in existence who can say no wrong and has done no wrong in his life and I'm here like "Hello, are we talking about the same Marc? Marc 'I will dive-bomb you out off existence' Marquez? Marc 'I will not give you a straight or truthful answer' Marquez? That Marc?".
Dorna/Liberty Media/whoeverthefuck AND Marc are banking so hard on the "Comeback of the century" campaign that portray him as a sacrifical lamb that is painful to watch people fall for it face first. Yes it was the comeback of a lifetime after what he endured, but using it as a sponge to wipe away everything that happened before this year is the cheapest gimmick they could have gone for.
I may be cynical and insane but I can't believe in good faith that what Marc said in every interview about the Sepang incident, and the subsequential injury, would be the same if he didn't gain his championship in Motegi. Again it might be the cynic in me but Marc isn't someone who does things out of the goodness of his heart, no riding "without pay" for Gresini was not out of kindness no mater how you spin it, andI do not expect him to be honestly.
So yea the idea that is being thrown around that Marc is a "gentleman" is giving me the ick just because he placated fans, when a year ago in Barcelona after Pecco was booed he said nothing mind you. It's strange what the media companies behind MotoGP are trying to do, searching a new hero rebirth from the ashes in Marc in search for a clean slate to start over wile still clinging to the drama of the past but choosing what type of past they show, because that is in the long run what will make this massive house of cards collapse.
Pumping out a honestly laughable attempt at a documentary, that should be called a mockumentary for how much it mock the intelligence of the audience by having them watch 26 minutes of nothing, the day of Simoncelli death says a lot to me on what the new administration wants to focus on and it's honestly disgusting to even think.
This is not a post hating on Marc let's be clear for the last time, I like the guy, just a little thinking piece on his character.
