thinking about this bit from an article by Ann Druyan in 2003:

transparency: doing this for free, the trade off is that i will print x amount (cap at 100) of your design and send to you (just pay shipping) the design then is available in my catalog for printing and distribution to my local community. you can sell the prints you receive if you want, what i print of your design I will be distributing for free. if any money is collected on my end it will go towards the purchase of additional printing supplies and aid others shipping cost.

offerings: current 8.5 x 11 color options available posters made on card-stock and cut to size zines (preferably one page ie sheet of paper) i will do the folding. if you need help with formatting just let me know! larger zine projects can be taken on just know time production will increase linoleum printing: i will make the base stamp (you can have it mailed to you or donate to me, otherwise i will make a reproduction for the catalog) stickers pending (machine is finicky and stickers will be accepted on a rotating basis dependent on the machines cooperation)

looking for people who will be distributors (go to location and drop off zines, fill free libraries, etc)

I aim to set up a donation fund for buying supplies but also to cover shipping costs if anyone cannot afford it or wants to help with distribution.

I want to also start a gallery of content to both showcase the work being submitted but so others can select things they would like to distribute to their community. Open to any ideas (except for google based apps) to host this idea.

I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

This website is still here and some of the asks are heartbreaking. Like “Jamie wants a new pair of jeans because he’s never had new clothes before”. Or “Kayla wants a bag with her name on it for when she moves foster homes again.”

A lot of these kids ask for brand name clothing and it sounds pretentious but having one nice new fashionable piece of clothing means a lot when all your previous clothes have come out of black trash bags from charities.

Btw, you can filter wishes based on gender, age, price, etc to help you find the perfect wish for you. This charity is LGBTQ-affirming (unlike a lot of religion-based charities that are unfortunately homophobic), so you can even look for nonbinary kids to donate to.

Also, I would really encourage people to be open to granting wishes made by older foster kids (14+) or young adults who aged out of the system and still lack family support. They’re so often forgotten.

i’m watching an analog horror video and the guy is like “the family gave me a disposable camera and i’m slowly working on developing the photos” and i was like ??? what do you mean like the whole roll gets developed at once how is this slow? do you mean he’s enlarging them and that’s why it’s gradual??? then he says “i asked her if the photos within had ever been developed before” and i was like ?!?!? like what they developed the roll and put it back in??? and then you??? what? redeveloped it or something??? then the family replies “yeah this camera frequently had its photos developed” like HUH?!? THE DISPOSABLE CAMERA?!? WHAT LIKE YOU WERE PULLING OUT INDIVIDUAL FRAMES IN A DARK ROOM AND THEN DEVELOPING THEM AND THEN WHAT??? PUTTING THEM BACK?!?!?

Sometimes I look back on my 20s and I'm like uhg why did that shit take so long? Like everything I did in my 30s, I could have done in my 20s but I didn't because I didn't know I could and I was scared for no reason. But I also could have had a more deadly addiction and been dead by now so who cares.
