do you ever feel like a horrible person for designing what's essentially a torture mechanism

i have a little plot line where poison is taken by bl/ind and is eventually brainwashed to be a scarecrow yatta yatta.

And to make sure he doesn't act out.they Umm.... they basically drill a bud/headphone into his ear so they can monitor his convos and tell him what to do. If he acts out they play a really loud shrill noise sooo yippee!!!!

almost everyone had used the names of their emotions to describe their feeling to connor. they’d just say they were “happy”, and he’d never known what it meant to be “happy”

but poison explains his emotions in physical symptoms, in feelings. he explains his happiness as a warmth in his chest, a buzzing feeling electrocuting through his body. he describes his sadness as a weight tugging him down, a dark storm cloud thundering in his brain

and connor thinks maybe he understands a little better now.
