olliexwest:
Oliver didn’t even realize his tone had been that short, but clearly it had been enough to piss the other man off. Groaning, he turned to face the guy, his anxiety and nerves slowly turning to rage. This was bad. “I just want to get home. I don’t have to explain anything to you. Don’t get your panties in a bunch because I don’t want to kiss you.” Oliver took a step forward, clenching his fists in his jacket pockets. “Just leave me alone.”
“My panties aren’t in a bunch just because you don’t wanna kiss me, kid. Though it just makes my insides tingle when I think about you thinking about my panties.” The man said sarcastically, shaking his head at the other as a laugh left his lips. He couldn’t give a fuck about the kiss, especially not with someone at least ten years younger than him; the boy had been short with him and something had definitely irritated him so Zachariah very much liked exploring that. Oliver might have stepped forward, but Zachariah didn’t move backwards. He just stayed in front of the other. “Why are you leaving so fast? Not having a good time? It’s Oliver, right? The one with the bracelet basically locked to his wrist at all times?”
olliexwest:
Ollie was headed back home. He had given his negation bracelet back and could already feel his nerves building not having it on. He was trying to walk as fast as he could, but was immediately distracted by someone talking about a kissing booth. “Huh?” It took him a brief moment before understanding that the man was speaking to him. “I don’t want to kiss you, man. Just trying to get home.” His tone was somewhat short, evidence of the anxiety balling itself up in his chest.
Zachariah raised his brow at the tone coming from the other. He didn’t like it, and he wasn’t about to just let the other get away with speaking to him like that. “Now, now, there’s no need to be short with me. I was just offering a service that this festival has deemed necessary to offer. What’s the rush, kid?” The disease manipulator asked, moving from his seat to stand in front of Oliver, arms folded and a smirk on his lips.
tristan-miller:
“Is that right?” Tristan returned, eyes glimmering with amusement at the stranger as he looked over at him from the rim of his plastic cup. The festival was busy, it had been all day and Tris was actually enjoying himself; getting into some mischief earlier had caused him to now dodged the sights of some of the guards. Tris was convinced they might have revoked his entry to the place and sent him back to his home if they’d flagged him too quickly. So, the man faking a kissing booth - or at least, trying one on, Miller really wasn’t all that sure, was going to be his excuse to take a breather from trouble. “Well, I’m all for the kissing booth, but am I fuck paying for it,” he remarked, swilling the remnants of his drink, unable to keep the ghost of a smile off his face.
“Think you should be paying me if you want to try that,” he added with a hint of a toying tone behind his words. There was a little moment in the back of Tristan’s mind that wanted to swipe a finger and flip the guy’s chair back, the metal legs of it practically calling him to play the move. He’d at least gauge whether the guy was going to push it or not first.
“All of the money goes to a good cause. It wouldn’t be right to just give it to you now, would it?” That was complete bullshit. He was sure whoever ran the kissing booth was probably supposed to turn the money over at the end of the night, but if anyone was actually stupid enough to turn their money over to Zachariah, he’d definitely be pocketing it. “Besides, three dollars to kiss you with tongue is a bit steep. You seem like the type where if you were to get drunk enough, that shit would be free for everyone.” He smirked as he obviously pushed back. Zachariah wasn’t the type to let someone get away with talking to him like that. Though, perhaps he didn’t even need to use kissing to make money. His power could easily do it, yet money wasn’t something he usually exploited people for. He had plenty of his own from the tattoo parlour. “If you’re not gonna pay, I’m gonna have to ask you to move along. That face? Well, it’s going to scare away the clientele.”
kayleighflies:
Kayleigh had signed up to do the kissing booth because she liked to be helpful, and truthfully because she didn’t think anyone was going to want to pay to kiss someone. But, as usual, her call home went a little long, and so by the time she got to the festival, she was late. She practically tumbled into the booth that had been assigned to her, only slowing down when she realized someone was already there. “No–I–” His words confused her. Was she supposed to pay? “I think you pay me. Wait, hold on, am I supposed to offer tongue? I’m a kissing booth virgin, sorry.”
“Well, I mean, no one was here. These poor people need someone to kiss, it’s probably the most action they’re going to get in their pitiful lifetimes.” Zachariah smirked, looking over the other. “The tongue part is up to you, but if they’re willing to pay an extra couple dollars for a little bit of tongue with their kiss, that’d be worth it to me.” He shrugged, but saying that he wouldn’t let just anyone kiss him -- not with tongue, anyway. “Ouch, first time? You’re probably gonna get a lot of the town weirdos so you can have fun with that.” He spoke, taking the couple dollars he’d earned out of the jar, stuffing them in his pocket as he got up. “I’ll be your bodyguard if you split what you make with me?”
“Disease certainly forces the hand of many.”

NAME: Zachariah Wong AGE: Thirty Five POWER: Disease Manipulation OCCUPATION: Up to Player TOWN: Grimstone Point
» HISTORY
Growing up in quite a normal household, Zachariah never thought anything of himself. He was a young boy who liked his own company, and that of his family more than the idea of making friends. His parents thought nothing of this – there was nothing wrong with a child who liked to read and play alone, they thought – and he did occasionally involve himself in games with his sisters. However, there was nothing normal about Zachariah, and that was something he and his family learned when he was just ten years old. While chicken pox spread across his school, he remained immune to the virus and when his sister got the virus, all it took was a simple touch from Zach to rid her of the contagious disease. That was only the first of many seemingly miraculous moments that happened throughout his years growing up.
It was after an incident in university that the government was alerted to the presence of Zach. Disease is something that could never be explained, both before and after the discovery of Zach’s gift, so it was always unlikely that anyone would catch on to the fact that Zach could heal and infect others. However, the sudden outbreak of Alzheimer’s in the lecture hall during a brief neurology discussion could not go unnoticed by the government. All of the good things Zach was doing would have to stop because of this one negative scenario. No longer could he visit patients in the hospital with the hope of curing them of their diseases. Zach could do nothing to help the world, not the way he wanted. The government, instead of listening to his arguments, insisted on taking him to Lake Grimstone. To which he refused. He managed to avoid it for a whole week, infecting anyone he thought to be an agent looking for him. Everything was clear: the government didn’t want to help, with his power they wanted to control him, they would have killed to find a way to utilize his gift and sell it to the world, as long as he wasn’t connected to it. At least, that’s how Zach saw it. It was the government that drove him to his current state of mind. Eventually they tracked him down and he found himself at Lake Grimstone.
Zachariah noticed that in Lake Grimstone, it would pay to have the upper hand. In an environment where individuals possessed powers that were arguably more useful or effective than his own, he needed to build a reputation and more than that, he needed people to know that he was not the kind of person that should be crossed. Soon after his arrival, he made a name for himself and though his reputation wasn’t necessarily good, it was not the worst. Zach found that finding what he wanted or needed, and people to do what he wanted and needed was easy when individuals had the right motivation. His power came in very handy for that. One wrong move, swaying from his requests or demands, and the individual in question might find themselves awfully ill – with the threat of fatal illness. People learn not to challenge someone who can torture them without even laying a finger on them – no one likes an illness. Zach never over does his demands; he is fair. He will ask for specific things or favors and he will expect one to comply. That’s the basis of the deal. Never has he intended on inflicting fatal diseases on those who do not comply; the ruthless demeanor is meant to tell others a different story, of course.
» ABOUT
XAVIER DAILY - Zach is quite aware that Xavier does not like him and he is quite okay with that. When their paths cross they always end up in heated arguments mostly over Zach’s use of his power.
REBECCA DANIELS - She intrigues him and he does enjoy talking to her even if he would never fully admit it. Just like he won’t admit that he considers her a friend.
GABRIEL ROWLAND - Gabe is someone that Zach doesn’t necessarily consider a friend, but he also doesn’t dislike them. If ever he sees Gabe around he will strike up a conversation with them.
Zachariah Wong is a CLOSED character and is portrayed by Ludi Lin.
the-one-and-the-same:
“With what hair brush? I don’t exactly carry my room in my bag.” She actually had a brush in her bag but he didn’t know that. She’d need more then just a brush to fix her hair, a mirror, hair spray. It took everything in Val not to storm off “ And what if I do? Not the strangest thing in this place.”
“I thought women that cared enough about their hair that they won’t go on a ride would carry a hairbrush in their bag, at the very least.” Zachariah’s hair could be temperamental at times, but usually if he just ran his hand through it it would settle into something he didn’t mind. “I mean, I get this place is crazy, but I’m pretty sure talking to yourself is still one of the first signs of being extra crazy.”
the-one-and-the-same:
How did she get down here again? However it was, she is stood in front of the Tilt-a-whirl arms on her hip “If we go on there my hair gonna get ruined, can’t you find another ride.” she said nodding towards a different ride, Valentina was not going to ruin her hair for anyone.
“You’re worried about your hair? You know that you can just, you know, brush it again right?” Zachariah spoke between popping cotton candy into his mouth, smirking at the female. “Do you often talk to yourself or is that just a festival special?”
xspeedoflightx:
Honestly, Katherine didn’t even look at the sign, she spotted the boy and only made her way over so she could converse with a human being, and not a bottle, for once. She couldn’t remember the last time she had an actual human interaction that didn’t bore or piss her off. Zach was always fun to be around, so she decided on approaching him. “What are you on about, Z?” She asked, furrowing her brows, before noticing the kissing booth, “What’s even the whole point of a kissing booth? Kissing a bunch of people and paying for herpes? No way.” She shook her head, “I thought more of you, Zachariah. I can’t be seen with you now.”
“Don’t call me Z.” He spoke sternly, brow raised as he looked at her pointedly, showing he was serious. It wasn’t just that Zachariah didn’t like people shortening his name, it was that he’d heard a lot of people call the Patel kid ‘Z’, and he didn’t like that man one bit. He didn’t want to be associated with him in any way. “I mean, I can heal the herpes so that’s no big deal for me. It’s easy money, and you’ll be surprised how many desperate people you can find at a festival. You can’t be seen with a genius mastermind who’s already made like twenty bucks just from sitting here? Work smarter, not harder Katherine.”
naomixpatton:
Naomi quickly shook her head, “I am not kissing you. I just came over to talk.” She didn’t know why he was sitting at the Kissing Booth if he had no idea what it was, but that didn’t really matter. She had thought long and hard about her power and what she wanted to do with it. Sure, the training sessions with Flynn were helpful, but she still didn’t have Zachariah’s level of control. “If I were to ask you for advice on control, would you be honest with me?”
“It could be a good test for you.” Zachariah smirked, though it was clear he was teasing. He had no desire to risk his life by touching Naomi in any way, until she had more of her power under control anyway. “I’m always honest, so yes. Any topic in particular or just in general? I’m sure you know I have my opinions on your power.” Usually it wasn’t something he would give two shits about with the other residents, but their powers were so similar that Zachariah wanted her to gain better control so he could see what they could do together.
“Sorry, but I think you’re mistaken. This isn’t a kissing booth... is it?” Honestly, Zachariah had just seen an empty seat and sat in it, figuring he’d tell anyone who approached him to do one. He liked the atmosphere of things like this, however he also liked to sit alone, and just people watch. The man frowned, and turned the sign on the stall around and saw that it was. “Oh, well, I mean if you’re gonna pay for the kissing booth then I’m open to it. These lips aren’t free. A dollar for a kiss, three if you want a little tongue action.”
miles--hall:
“Seems like a lot of people feel that way.” Miles replied. It was true, most people in point wanted to be in park but Miles didn’t particularly care, it didn’t matter to him where he was. “A little?” Miles chuckled. “Overbearing is an understatement. Miles Hall.” He replied. “What are you planing to do over there?”
“Pleasure to meet you, Miles Hall. Honestly? I was going to go on one of the mountain trails, then probably head to a bar or something then sneak back across. I don’t have a huge interesting plan... Unless you’re offering something better?” Zachariah asked, brow raised as he looked over his new acquaintance.
miles--hall:
“Like it better in Park?” Miles asked raising a brow, he didn’t blame when people preferred that town over Point, the freedoms they had were great after all, even though he could get some of those freedoms from time to time and also have the luxuries that he was used to. “Point, but I like to spend some time in Park. There’s a little more to do there.” He said with a shrug.
“Most times.” Of course, there were advantages to each town but Park seemed to be more his style. His ideal would be a mix of the two, but he knew that was the complete opposite of the point. “I live in Point too, though, but it can get a little... overbearing.” Zachariah murmured, looking over the other. “What’s your name? I’m Zachariah.”
I myself am strange and unusual.
miles--hall:
Miles had just finished training and was on his way to Grimstone Park. Sure his time was up, but he had a guy that allowed him to leave Point, of course he had to give him a little cash but it was well worth it. It seemed like someone had the same idea that Miles did, the sneaking out thing. “Coming or going?” He asked the person as he got closer to them.
Zachariah enjoyed the luxuries of Grimstone Point, but the freedom those in Park got to have almost had him jealous. He wanted to leave, but knew if he did, he’d probably run and never come back if he figured how to get the damn bracelet off. Plus, he preferred the mountain trails over there. “Are you kidding? Definitely going.” He scoffed, glancing around them to make sure no one was watching. “Which one do you actually live in?”
xspeedoflightx:
“I’m just not a foodie.” She chuckled, before lifting her shoulders in a light shrug. “Oh, shush. I win, and that’s that.” She flipped her hair over her shoulder in faux confidence, before letting out a laugh. “Yup, that’s my kind of fun. Park benches are the best. We could’ve just gotten some drinks and stare at people. See who creeps out the most people.” She laughed playfully, as they approached the pizza place, and she opened up the door, “After you, pizza man.” She said, before walking after him inside the place; glancing over at the menu that was hanging over the register. “Right? People think it’s so weird, and I’m just baffled…It’s delicious.” With those words, she turned to the man at the register and orderd one, not one bit ashamed of her choice. “How do you even know that? Have you worked at a cafe, or is this one of your creepy observations?” She offered him a playful smirk, before adding more, “If my coffee isn’t as black as my soul, I don’t want it. People who drink anything else are the worst.” She scoffed, as she shook her head, “That is exactly why I can’t work at a place like that. They’ll fire me in two minutes. You’re right though, I don’t tolerate shitty atitude.”
“Do I look like I’d be good in a customer facing job?” Zachariah asked, brow raised as he tried to hold back his laughter. If he had to be exposed to the public’s stupidity on a daily basis just to earn money, he truly doubted how well the business he worked for would do... Or how long it would take for him to snap and harm someone beyond repair with his power. “Oh you don’t? You seem to tolerate my shitty attitude just fine, but maybe that’s something to do with my truly black soul, and your somewhat dark soul.” When Katherine had said her soul was as black as her coffee, Zachariah couldn’t help but think about the meme he’d seen, where the coffee was talking about murder and that was too dark, but add a bit of creamer and it was just talking about maiming people and that was just right. In his mind, he was the dark one and Kat was the creamered-down one, for sure.
lorelaijennings-lgrp:
“Like I said,” she repeated herself, reiterating her words as she did, “I’ve been here for twelve months. Shit couldn’t have gone so far south within twelve months, and there was no indication of any illness before I left. Certainly not close to… wherever we are.” Lori wasn’t well adjusted to living somewhere she couldn’t get out. So to come to a place, spend twelve months there then be told suddenly the world she knew and loved was rotting, wasn’t sitting right with her.
“Disease can spread in a matter of days... weeks... months. It doesn’t take as long as you might think. The wrong thing gets out and that’s it, humanities done for. Trust me, I’m an expert.” Zachariah smirked, looking over the other. It was clear she just didn’t want to believe that it was true, because a year ago things had been fine out there but... A lot could change in a year.
