As he began to grab the supplies, he could feel his phone buzzing in his pocket. He didnāt have much time but he pulled it out and quickly sent some reassuring texts to Harley. He let out a breath, a little annoyed that he was having to work both ends of this group. Harley and Tristan. Tristan was more pertinent, though. He had more pressing matters to be tended to.Ā Ā
āLandon?ā Zane asked as he put his phone on the counter and moved back towards Tristan.Ā āAnd what, pray tell, gave you the urge to pick a fight with that guy?ā Zane was trying to pay attention but it was hard to as he was now assessing Tristanās other wounds. He watched as the other pealed off his shirt and Zane frowned. Yeah, he had endured a beating. That was for fucking sure.
His phone buzzed and Zane let out a sigh as he moved to check it and text back.Ā āIām glad Harley wasnāt the one to do this. I mean, I didnāt think he would butā¦ā Zane shrugged his shoulders.Ā āAnyone can snap, I suppose.ā Zane pressed his lips together into a thin line and then let a slow sigh of relief. He was glad it hadnāt been Harley. If it had⦠Zane would probably have to visit the immortal about it. But since it wasnāt, he didnāt have to. Nor was he going to visit Landon over this.
āI hope you got a few good punches in?ā Zane asked as he moved a hand to Tristanās back. He pressed his skin to the otherās gently, his eyes closing as he focused on Tristanās blood. He was bleeding from the outside but he couldnāt feel anything irregular on the inside.Ā āPlotting someoneās death?ā Zane opened his eyes and frowned slightly. There was only so much of this shit he could take.Ā āIād suggest you rest and heal up for a bit before you put that plan into motion.ā He said quietly as he began tugging at the blood that was still dripping over Tristanās skin. He moved towards his cabinet and pulled out a large glass jar, letting the blood trickle into the container. Heād use it for later if he needed it.Ā
Zane took a step back to really look at Tristan. There wasnāt much Zane could do besides try to get the healing process to enact quicker.Ā āYou took it like a champ, Tris. Iām impressed.ā Zane offered the other male a genuine smile as he moved back towards him. He placed a hand on Tristanās arm, wrapping his fingers around his bicep as he forced Tristanās blood to pump quicker throughout his body. It would start the healing process and aid in him healing a little quicker than normal.Ā āI have some pain meds if you need them?ā
It was like an irritating sound, every time Tris tapped some bloodied fingered reply back to Harley, Zane was glancing at his phone as it subsequently went off. It was more than obvious with the way they were both intermittently checking their phones that the immortal with undoubtedly responsible for it. He wasnāt too sure if Zane was going to bring it up; he figured by the benderās actions, that he wasnāt all that interested in doing so.Ā
āBecause itās Landon.ā Tristan returned through gritted teeth, unsure how much Harley shared with the man; whether the ongoing feud was down to a lot more than just two guys pummelling one another repeatedly. He was half paying attention to where Zane was assessing and flinching a little when the man ran over a particularly unpleasant spot. Tris felt a little better for removing the bloodied and dirtied shirt and loosening his pants. Trying not to smirk at how Z had first assumed the injuries had came about.Ā āHar, kicking the crap outta me,ā it came out as some odd amused laughter that was a little cut off by a cough.Ā āthatād be a sight, huh.ā
Tristan was more than unappreciative of the snapping remark. It was hitting too soon and too close to the bone. Everything that heād promised Harley was already coming to surface; the agitation he wanted to spill over the whole thing again was literally a few breaths from being blurted in Zās face.Ā
Neither of them needed that and Tristan was too torn up about the past dayās events to consider erupting in his friendās apartment. But the thought certainly crossed his mind before it became fleeting.Ā āIāll snap him,ā he grunted, shifting on the chair that Zane had planted him on, he wasnāt sure which of the two people whoād pissed him off he was going to break to pieces first but Tristan was aware that his condition was more than a hindrance to any of his empty threats.
Something like a growl broke free from Tris when Zane began touching his bare back. He didnāt assume the man was trying to hurt him. God from what Har had said today, he wasnāt too sure. But either way, it was sending lightning up and down the length of Trisā spine.Ā āOf course I did. Fucker ran though,ā he seethed out between sharp intakes of breath. His hands were clenching on his lap at the thought of being left on the ground whilst his cousin stumbled away.Ā
Listening to Zaneās suggestion to put the plan aside for the sake of healing was sensible; a lot more rational too than Tris was expecting from the bloodbender. A lot more well-thought through that youāre doing right now.Ā He was growing more and more used to Z manipulating his blood in his body but he wasnāt all that sure heād ever be completely used to it. Swallowing thickly, he glimpsed at the jar that was gradually filling with the remnants of his own fluids and he was trying not to frown at the obscure sight of it.
Tristan was adjusted to most things by this point, but Z manipulating his blood into a glass canister was forever going to be oddity.Ā āIām fine by the way, if thatās what H is on your back on -ā Tris grumbled almost inaudibly to his friend as he grimaced at each relenting touch the other put on him. He knew he was doing his best to tend to them, but the younger male was making it all too clear with each irritable complaint that was hissed under his breath that he wasnāt enjoying a moment of it.Ā āYeah, yeah, Z,ā he continued to mutter, the manās praise was not well met given that Tristan was still irritated about that and the way his blood was moving around his body increased his breathing rate.Ā āimpressed I didnāt just end him.ā he added with some surfacing lividness.Ā
He trusted Zane to do whatever he felt was necessary to make him feel better - and to stop the blood from actually pouring out of him. He shook his head firmly, not wanting the meds he was offering; he wasnāt keen on feeling the pain but he didnāt want to be not all that lucid either.Ā āPainās fine,ā he wavered it off, trying to stand himself up so he could at least begin to make it clear he wasnāt going to overstay his welcome. Heād come over as H had requested; a few things had happened since heād made that promise.Ā āDonāt tell Har the state I was in,ā he sighed, turning his head to look back at the man nursing him with some hope that heād not already spilled it over text.
