      Dani couldn’t help but giggle when the song came on. This song always reminded her of Zach, two kids when they fell in love, not knowing what it was just yet. It may have taken a while for them–okay, her–to figure it out, but she was glad that they did. “Good,” she said, her heart fluttering. “And I’m all yours… always.”

       “I’ve been thinking about that all day honestly… this is going to be us one of these days.” She continued to let herself be relaxed, her body pressed against his. She allowed him to take the lead with the dancing, loving how his arms felt holding her close. “I can’t wait to be your wife.”

      Time was ticking down as they danced and he made sure to keep track of it. With their word exchanges he was confident that she’d say yes, but his nerves seemed to be getting the best of him because he grew anxious as they danced. In a good way, of course. Zach was about tp propose, why wouldn’t he be anxious? “Always.” Zach repeated with a bright smile.

      People started crowding the dance floor, and he realized the count down was starting. Oh my God, he thought as he looked at his phone. Two minutes. “You’ll only have to wait til the wedding day.” Zach got on his knee and looked up at her as some people looked at them. “Dani, I love you, and i’m so sorry i made you wait this long. I love you with all of my heart... will you marry me?” He grabbed the custom made ring from his pocket and bit his lip.

      “Okay good because I’m selfish and I want you to myself at midnight… gotta start my year off right,” she said with a playful wink. She honestly just wanted to be with him for as long as humanly possible. And she wanted nothing more than to spend the first moments of her New Year the way she wanted to spend the rest of the year, close to the love of her life. “I’ll always dance with you.”

      Dani carefully walked Zach towards the middle of the dance floor, her arms still wrapped around him. She had very little intention of letting him go. “I love you so much,” she said in a trance as she looked up at him, beginning to slowly sway along with the music. 

     Zachary smiled bashfully at this. There wasn’t any reason not to smile when he was with Dani, really. “I’m all yours.” He said as he followed her further into the dance floor, biting his lower lip and looking over at her lovingly. just as he was going to compliment her again the song Perfect by Ed Sheeran came on and he smirked. Perfect timing. 

    “I love you too.” He replied as easy as it was to breath in air. Looking down at her chocolate chip brown eyes, he knew it was true. He was more than ready to spend the last of his days with the love of his life. “I can’t wait until we have our own wedding, we can melt the rest of the world away like we’re doing now, but with you as my wife.”

      Dani bit her lip as she blushed profusely at his words. “Trust me, I can’t wait to get you out of that tux,” she teased up at him with a smirk. “But, seriously, you look amazing in this tux,” she told him, straightening out the lapel of the tux, then smoothing it out with her fingers. She carefully brought her hands up around his neck, holding him close, feeling his warmth radiate onto her body. 

      “So has Beth claimed your New Years kiss or can I steal you away?” she asked in a joking tone, motioning to their daughter who was happily dancing near them. She couldn’t believe that this was her life right now. Had someone told her when Cori and Kevin got engaged she’d be here as Zach’s girlfriend, she probably wouldn’t believe them. And she definitely would have believed them if they told her she’d be this happy. 

      It was things like that, bringing electric shocks throughout his body and making him come closer to her. “Thank you, gorgeous.” Zach would’ve responded to rest with a kiss, but he didn’t want to make any more of scene. No, he wanted to save all of that for his midnight plans. Instead Zach hugged her, holding her close to him. 

     “Trust me, come new years i’m all yours.” He didn’t want to give to much away with his words, but Zach wouldn’t have been shocked if body betrayed  him as he looked into her eyes deeply. Hypnotized by her light, her beauty. Dani was perfect to him , and he couldn’t wait to propose. “Dance?”

      Dani could not be happier at the moment. Her best friend had just gotten married, and she was having the time of her life at the reception. She was with Zach–who looked slightly off, but he insisted he was okay–before getting swept away by her girlfriends to dance with them. At the moment, however, she was dancing with her daughter, happily spinning her around the dance floor. And while she was dancing, she couldn’t help but think about how excited she was to share a day like this with Zach. 

      Dani immediately melted when she felt Zach’s arms around her, missing the contact with him. It was funny, because no matter how long she spend away from him, even if it was just five minutes, it always felt like an eternity, and coming back to him was always such a relief.  “I’m having an amazing time, but I probably shouldn’t drink anymore,” she said with a light laugh. “But you can give me a proper kiss,” she told him, turning around in his arms so she was facing him. She looked up towards him, waiting for him to lean down, knowing very well she couldn’t reach his lips on her own due to their height difference. 

   She waited for Zach to lean down but as he did he was captured by her lips, smiling against them before giving her the proper kiss she deserved. So soft a plump, he didn’t want to pull away, but he knew he’d have to. Once again, the thoughts of prematurely getting down on one knee haunted him, making him lightly groan against her lips. 

    “Sorry, you just look so beautiful... can’t wait to have you to myself.” Zach whispered int her ear, smirking as her did, not wanting Beth to hear anything, but wanting Daniella to hear him loud and clear. Just a couple more minute he told himself as he looked at the time and kissed her cheek.

    Zach could count the most important days of his life by hand, but this day had to be at the top for now. Not only was his best friend getting married to the love of his life, but it was the night he proposed to Dani. Zach watched her on the dance floor from his seat, and if he wasn’t so mesmerized by her beauty he’d go join her. For now he was watching he clock carefully. Only an hour until midnight, but the ring in his pocket felt like it was burning through his tuxedo pants and onto his skin. He wanted nothing more than to approach his girlfriend and kiss her profoundly, passionately, intimately, but that would lead to him getting on his knee, so he couldn’t-not yet. 

     He did however get up to approach her, sliding his hands around her waist from behind and kissing her cheek. “You look beautiful... are you having a good time? Want me to get you another drink?” Zachary whispered in her ear, smiling that he didn’t have to yell over the music of the wedding. In these cases, he was glad Cori was such a ‘bitch’. At least she got things done correctly.
