So, went and saw Iron Lung for a second time by myself. And since my theatre was more empty ish this time, I noticed some details in the movie and need to get it out! No idea if anyone else noticed these but if you did! Hey nice!
Spoilers, I guess? Movies been out for like- 2 weeks I guess?
-When Simon is in the crawl space after he rammed the skeleton and got like, dragged away? And he finds the black box, turns around and is making his way back to the entrance of the crawl space before finding the engine restart. (Thankfully my theatre was quiet enough for this) but I was able to hear that when he stopped crawling, there was something walking above him in the main hull of the Iron Lung. And before Simon went down he taped the camera to give him light right? Yet when he comes up, it’s “fallen off”. Well it didn’t. Whatever was walking up there, clearly not him. Had walked over to the camera and physically peeled the tape off the camera, that’s how it’s off when he gets back up there.
-After his interaction with the light and the whole, blood sea vision and suddenly vomiting. And Ava talks to him and such? After Simon mentions SM-8 and the black box and Ava basically makes it the mission to go back and find it and gather the data. We hear her tell David, (I’m guessing Troy Baker’s character), to get 14 ready. SM-14!! Because to them, Simon was gone for days, got told no more expeditions, and I’m guessing they were ready to just grab another convict and send them down in SM-14 before being told no more dives. But that’s how Ava dies by the Fish? Eel? That ends up killing Simon later. She’s in SM-14, going after Simon and the SM-8 blackbox data.
-Now for the final scenes, when the Iron Lung is flooding. I’m guessing this one is more obvious as I’ve seen people point it out on TikTok. But Simon told his Mom to keep the black box safe. Before you know, the creature/Fish attacks the sub. After breaking one of its teeth and basically getting thrown around. Simons face ends up growing those extra teeth along his left cheek and jaw, like the creature he sees sitting where he sat earlier at the front of the sub. Yeah it’s more obvious but he basically saw, his future self! What he would become.
Adding to that, I’m now on the boat of people who noticed Simon turning into another creature for the Blood Ocean. Because despite his sub you know, blowing up! The fish/eel ends up dying, but Simon maybe didn’t. Except he might not be Simon anymore and now a new creature within the ocean. He might’ve turned into it because he saw the light, or because of the blood. Who fully knows?
Anyways that’s the details I noticed. Props to anyone who noticed them first. This is like, my first big post but that’s because Iron Lung brainrot LMAO. I needed to share this, hope anyone who reads likes it!!
