5. Pang Tong! I thought his moveset was really rad in DW5 (dat musou), and then he like... died right away LOL. It was so unfortunate but hey, that's why free mode exists!

4. Sima Yi. [cackling intensifies] Ah but seriously, I do enjoy a nice, arrogant son of a bitch mastermind, and Sima Yi is that and so much more (especially when Jin is introduced as a playable faction). Also, he was my favorite character to use in that one DW5 challenge mode where you had to knock everyone off platforms. His jump charge was ridiculous haha

3. Zhao Yun. ANOTHER HAS FALLEN TO MY SPEA-- Okay I admit that I don't have a particularly powerful reason why I like Zilong other than how hammy his voice and lines are throughout the series, especially when he replaces Spear with Justice in the later installments, lmao

2. Xingcai! Like I said in my profile, I started with DW5 and I am absolutely unashamed to admit that I became an instant Xingcai fanboy because come on, strong-willed female characters are always a treasure to find and I'm also very very partial towards shield-bearing characters.

1. Cao Ren! Remember what I said about shields? Cao Ren was my absolutely favorite character to play in DW5 and I just loved running around as this bulky, shield-bashing, razor disc spamming juggernaut. I was really disappointed in DW6-7 when they gave him a goddamn generic polearm (though the chained flail wasn't that bad), so I breathed a big sigh of relief when 7 Empires gave Renny his faithful Crane back. Or, uh, his 'Walls'. d:

    "?" Tilting his head, Jixun carefully stared at his lord's daughter before her words began to sink in. The quietest of sighs slipped past his lips as he reached forward to place an assuring hand on her shoulder.

     "There, there. I am sure that we can salvage the buns you poured time into making, no? And if not, then we shall make more. Or send them to our enemies." Pulling back, the man turned on his heel and began to walk off towards the kitchen.

     ...Wait, was that last part supposed to have been a joke?

Eyes observed the other, the lovely scent hit the strategists nostrils like a sweet lullaby, it seemed like he was in for a treat. "I’ve heard such as well… I still need to see if it is true or not, though."

     If Jixun desired to refute the general's claim, he hid it well behind his inscrutable expression. Instead, the dishes were slid silently atop the table's surface as the man took a seat from across Zhong Hui.

     "One sip will not produce any results. If the tea is to your liking, then I shall have a small carton of leaves reserved for you upon your return." Reaching forward, he placed the cups in front of them and began pouring tea, unfazed by the scathing heat of the pot as he palmed its surface to steady the flow.

     "Regardless of whether your skin will glow most vibrant, I am confident that you will come away from this experience... satisfied enough."
