Saw you mentee Chiwa au and how you hc her as having a shallow understanding of love because of the Sphere’s residual indoctrination, and thought about how that’s almost like a funhouse mirror to Amo’s issues with love where she was misused and misinforned about what love was, leading her to fixate on it unhealthily when we first saw her but then see her slowly emerge from her tower with the goal to better understand and experience it.
I feel like it’s an opening for them to be friends? Acquaintances? Weird co workers that weirdly gets your ‘issues’ but in a vastly different format? I just think it would be fun for them to hang out and talk about love. Maybe Amo can go two for two on philosophical breakthroughs to Spherites and say something absolutely enlightening to Chiwa regarding the nature of love. (Yes this is me injecting my self indulgent philosopher Amo au).
And maybe along the way Amo would be able to help repair the friendship between Rudo and Chiwa. Maybe not to the way it was before, but in a new way that would allow them to grow more as people.

I think Amo is a very loving person. Pun intended. She is, but we know that her mindset on love is flawed due to Mister's abuse, making her believe that his way of "loving" her is right. Despite this, we've seen her fight back against Mister when he won't give her the boots, which makes me believe that her trauma response is to fight, or at least her strongest one. You could say that her trying to keep herself on one knee and her head down while Mister tries to pull the boots away from her is Amo trying to appease him by looking smaller. Both are ways to protect herself.
Her meeting with the Cleaners is further proof, with her shouting and freaking out when she finds out that they're only here for information. And in the end when Tamsy captures her, she goes "you hurt me...you hurt me!" + this panel when Tamsy "kills" the group
Shows Amo's belief that it's inevitable for people to hurt other people. It's human nature.
Of course she's learning to undo that mindset with the Cleaners now that she's in a safer environment. "Rudo's hands made Amo's world so much bigger" im lowk emotional
Okay we cant really speak too much on Chiwa because she appears for like what 2 mins max. But I try anyways.
With Chiwa she kind of has the opposite mindset about hurting others being human nature...we see her go against that by befriending Rudo despite the rumors about him being a murderer's son.
I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE OG TEXT IN JAPANESE BC IDK WHAT SHE SAID. But in the eng translation (and sub. And dub where she goes: "That's not true...it can't be.")
We see that she's still skeptical/hesitant to accept what others are saying. What makes her fully abandon her belief in Rudo? Not when she hears about Rudo "murdering" Regto, but when Rudo is already hanging above the Pitt in Regto's blood. "Clear evidence."
When she drops the doll and says that Rudo's just a murderer's son, it's recognized as rejection by Rudo. But if we look at it solely through Chiwa's lens, she would recognize the situation as a betrayal from Rudo. She falls back in line with the other people on the Sphere in response, hindering her ability to break free from its indoctrination. Okay now we're actually getting to the non-canon of this idea lol
I mentioned for the mentee Chiwa au that she came back for the doll, but I want to clarify that it's not because she still believes in Rudo. She picks it up to protect what's left of the "good Rudo" in her mind, still hurt by Rudo's betrayal and seeking comfort from the doll. She directs what's left of her "love" for Rudo to the doll, which is what affects the way her doll-jinki manifests
It manifests as a "guard dog" that's always by Chiwa's side, protecting her. Not leaving her or betraying her. But this comes with the challenge of the doll not protecting people who aren't Chiwa, in which Chiwa has to control the doll herself to do so.
But for the jinki itself to recognize her intent to protect others would require Chiwa to actually care about those people. If her "love" for Rudo turned out to be a shallow understanding of what love is supposed to be, then what more for people who could be strangers?
Okay this is where chiwamo actually starts. I do not think Amo would reject the possibility of being Chiwa's friend. She would be upset on Rudo's behalf, but I think her curiosity on why Chiwa lost her belief in Rudo despite being one of the only people who didn't believe in the rumors around him would be stronger, especially when she learns of the "love" between them.
Chiwa obviously still doesn't trust Rudo, and I think even after learning the truth it still wouldnt be enough to repair their relationship. Rudo is still hurt by being abandoned by someone he thought he could trust and still feels some kind of hate towards her, Chiwa is mortified to realize that she's not all that different to the other people on the Sphere like Rudo's bullies, but not enough to find a way to make amends
I think Chiwa would find change difficult. She doesn't think her relationship with Rudo can change, the same for Rudo's dislike of her and her remaining distrust of Rudo despite learning the truth. This is obviously the opposite of Amo who believes in second chances.
But also Amo just likes the fact that there's another girl in the Cleaners, so she tends to seek Chiwa out even if the other tries to avoid her because she thinks itll be awkward since Amo is friends with Rudo (Even if she still longs to have that friendship with Rudo again)

For Chiwa and Rudo's relationship to be repaired I do think it's essential that it's Chiwa who makes the first step. Chiwa, who's been raised in a system that only pits its people against each other, who believed in the lies repeated around her that led to her rejecting Rudo. She finally makes a decision of her own to repair their relationship.
Of course, Amo still played a part by encouraging her and being one of the first people in the Cleaners who wanted to become friends with her.
