Ok so, Vanny is from my fnaf au called "resurrecting tragedy", which is my personal rewrite of the steel wool era fnaf lore (and is also technically the second half of an au called darklegacy but the fist part isn't super important to Vannys story sooooo).
In this au, Vanessa/Vanny is a lot more villainous than she in cannon. The au isn't fully fleshed out yet, but, as of now, Vanessa is the dauther of one of the current fazbear owners, who she does not get along with at all. she's really interested in the fazbear killing, especially with the idea that they were done in order to study the paranormal. While working at the pizzaplex, she discovered M1, and after interacting with it for a while, M1 assist Vanessa in killing her father and they end up making a kind of "deal":Vanessa would help M1 reunite with M2, and M1 would help vanessa on her "paranormal research"(basically just killing a bunch of people).
Vanny is an alternate persona to Vanessa. M1 can enter vannys mind to help her out with stuff and she's generally less stable when this happens, but she's not being full on possessed like in cannon. Think of Vanessa and Vannys dynamic like an original dr jekyll and mr hyde situation, were it's less of a good person becoming evil because of a transformation, and more of a morally reprehensible person hiding behind an alternate identity to commit their evil actions.
Some more information:
-Vanny's sut was made with stuff Vanessa found underneath the pixaplex, mainly an old mcm mascot suit and one of Michael's spare uniforms from fnaf 6.
-Vanessa had the urge to experiment with souls and possession for a long time, but the never had the strength to actually kill someone for the experiments, M1 was what helped her pull the trigger.
-Vanny got quite a lot of attention as the "new fazbear killer" and there were a lot of speculation on who the killer could be. One of the more prevalent theories being that the killer was Michael himself (a theorie Gregory is very adamant in defending)
-The public was eventually led to believe that Vanny was arrested, when Vanessa tricked the authorities into believing the real killer was tape girl, but then more people started going missing in the pixaplex. A group of teens decided to go investigate about the killer themselves, one of them being Gregory's friend. The groups disappearance is what eventually lead to the events of SB.
-M1 is slowly losing it's trust on Vanessa, as it fell like she's not keeping up her end of the deal.
-Vanessa may or may not be so obsessed with ghost and possession because she wants to find a way to bring her dead mother back.
