Once she was finished, she set her phone face down on the table. Ignorance may be bliss, but her fingers were itching to reach out and check if he had already texted her back. Instead, she reached for her coffee and took a sip. “Do you really think it’s wise to send this gossip to different sites? What if Linda finds out?”

“Let me know what he says.” Aside from her need to see how the shit storm she had caused was going to unfold, she genuinely wanted to know if Matt was going to deny it or not. “Um, first of all I did not send anything to anywhere. And if Linda finds out, she might like it because this could bring some coverage. Who knows? Maybe he’ll even become relevant.” Zelda doubted though.

“She absolutely does.” Zelda had no problem with throwing Arizona under the bus, they weren’t besties, it wouldn’t be the end of the world if she was upset with her, she would get over it eventually and if she didn’t, Zelda would simply tell her to get a grip, get a life and get over it. “You are so naïve, it’s tragic at this point.” She said, a very dramatic yawn followed. “If you don’t believe me, then go ahead and ask him.”

Nell rolled her eyes and bit her tongue. There was no use in threatening Zelda not to tell any of her favorite gossip sites. The chances that kind of tactic would have only provoked her to do the exact opposite of what Nell actually wanted were incredibly high. “How do you know this? And how do you know Zoey?” Her own conversations with Zoey had been limited, but she noticed that Matt spent more time in the make-up trailer than he needed to. Especially when the two of them weren’t on speaking terms and she was left to watch from a distance.

“Please.” She snorted a laugh, taking a sip from her  iced, sugar-free, vanilla latte with soy milk. “Give Arizona three Moscow Mules at Soho House and she will even share nuclear codes with you.” A typical Sagittarius, Zelda thought to herself.

Everyone liked a little schadenfreude now and then. “Something tells me that’s not just a purely hypothetical situation,” she said, leaning forward. “What’s going on? Is it really juicy?”

“It’s not something that bad but I know they won’t like this.” She said, smug. “Oh it’s not at all. It’s about one of my boss’s clients.” Zelda carefully avoided dropping the actual names, as much as she loved spreading rumors, she also loved her job. “Allegedly he cheated on his girlfriend with someone from the set.” She winked when she said the word allegedly. “And now it’s out.”

“That’s not what it was,” she quickly explained. It was a lost cause because she was sure the explanation would fall on deaf ears. “Whatever. It doesn’t matter. That website should check their sources because that’s just not possible. He wouldn’t do that. Besides, I’ve been working with him since last year, and he’s one of my best friends. I think I would have noticed something.” And then she remembered there were things she had recently noticed on the set of their new show but thought it was all in her head. 

“To be fair Eleanor, I don’t care what it actually was but I can assure you everybody saw you two.” She shrugged her shoulders, not really curious about the real story behind the kiss. “He wouldn’t?” Zelda let out a loud laugh, didn’t even bother to adjust her voice. “God, this is sad. I think you might want to ask Zoey from make-up department what actually went down.”

Nell immediately paled at the sly comment. Of course, if there was any person who would have known what happened, it would be Zelda. She only hoped that the information wasn’t relayed back to Linda, both for her sake and Matt’s. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” she lied as she quickly looked away. “Just tell me what it says.” 

“I bet.” She pouted, nodding her head. “Good for you getting that much-needed leg-up in the industry.” Zelda looked at her phone screen before meeting Nell’s gaze. “It says he cheated on his girlfriend with a co-worker.” Her brow raised in the most taunting way possible. “My bad. Ex-girlfriend.”
