Zen and Denim

The human partner for Zen who isn’t a pokemon trainer at all and named after the color ON the pants. You’ll see why in her backstory in the practice comic. She’s modeled after me (creator avatar) with the way she acts and stuff. I was a bit inconsistent on her breast size in the painting.  Will do another one next time. I’m having a tough time choosing the art style for the practice comic, though. It’s going to be black and white, btw. :3 So far the brainstorming is going along nicely with my writer to add dialogue to it. ^^ Promos coming up soon. ^^

This is the closest for using myself as a self-insert who happens to be her own character with most of my flawed traits and behaviors that could fit the narrative I'm going for without going full mary-sue.

Zen starts out pretty beaten up and can’t speak telepathy to anyone due to a shock collar

that preventing him to use his psychic powers that Denim and her master tried so hard to figure out how take it off. Also, he doesn’t trust any humans until Denim takes good care of him as he recovers.

For a mewtwo, he’s almost closer at adult age around 17, due to him born pretty early. 

It’s a nice practice for what a mewtwo can do without using psychic powers. :3

I don't know how I came up with the shock collar idea before Zootopia is my guess. It might be that he escaped a lab recently or someone suppressing his psychic powers.

I can’t believe I forgot how to paint in Sai after I did a lot of sketchbook art buffering. ^^;

Anyway, this is Zen, my freshly new Mewtwo OC that inspired from my dream last December. I was taken care of him and stuff. I was an awesome “fighter” who has a special link ability without a pokeball as Zen’s partner.

I drew him in my main sketchbook a several times. He has sorta a calm/timid nature.

Will there be a doujin project for this one? Not really. I don’t want that get in the way for my webcomic I’ve been art buffering for. I’ll just make illustrations or storyboards about it. And remake Zen’s partner not exactly like me, but a different person. ^^

This is the very first early sketch of Zen that popped out of possibly pure frustration from the Pokémon movie 16 coming up at the time in 2013.

He was the first OC that wasn't even influenced from my early days of devianart.
