Zenki was quite right. Arguing with Sho would get you absolutely nowhere. He was far too prideful, far too set in his ways to ever change his point of view in an argument. In his mind, he would always be the one who was right. He would never be the one who needed to change. Ever. Being brought up to be the absolute definition of perfection, he was to never have or show and faults. While it was not possible to be right all the time, Sho played it off as if he were in fact such. Arguing with him was completely and utterly pointless.
❝ Fear is what keeps individuals such as yourself in line. Fear is what you yourself feel right at this very moment. You could not ever overpower me and you know it. You know that if you were to ever attempt such, the pain I would inflict upon you would be almost too much for you to bear. It’s that fear of being hurt which keeps lowlifes such as yourself in their place. Fear is needed to rule over anyone. ❞
Stopping directly in front of the other, Sho’s gaze remained strong and unwavering. All of this, it was a tactic. A means to distract Zenki from paying attention to what was going on behind him. As he had been speaking and going on, several other tengu, Kou amongst the small group. While they were there for more of an intimidation factor, they would definitely spring into action should Sho give the word to do so.
❝ Oh I could do that, but that would not nearly be as fun. Besides— Why would I do that when I can use you to send my message for me? I know of the perfect way for you to be of use to me. ❞
Pain huh? Sho had no idea of the kinds of pain he went through every day. The kinds of torment he struggles with, not only within his mind, but with his own body as well. It was easy to say such thing when you've never been in the situation he was. It was a constant battle just to keep himself in check and in control. The burning sensations he would get from the seals across his torso. It wasn't just when it was being reapplied. But a constant searing that never failed to go away. Feeling as though it could break at any moment.
It was laughable at how obvious Sho was being. He was much more direct and forward than he probably even realized. Zenki was no fool and caught on to the other's tactics rather quickly. But even so, he knew it wouldn't help him much, especially considering he was here alone.
"If it's fear you think I'm feeling, then you are mistaken." And it was true. He had no reason to be afraid. Why would he? For his own life? That didn't even matter. Zenki spent most of his life in protection of others. Regard for his own life was small in comparison.
The sudden appearance of footsteps creeping up behind him did catch him by surprise. Giving a slow glance over his shoulder to see the group of Tengu standing there, obviously loyal to Sho. but one stood out. Kou... he knew he couldn't be trusted from the moment they first met. Giving the male a slight sneer of disdain, he turned back to Sho and narrowed his eyes. "While it's thoughtful of you to think of me, I'm unfortunately going to have to decline. I',m a rather busy guy you know?"
