Tiny Update

Dealing with exhaustion, large commissions, home construction/renovation, family drama, and a dying relative....please be patient. I feel I’m running on fewer spoons than usual. June is going to be a catch up month for me, so those I owe work to, expect me to be in contact very soon <3

#4 - the last of the spam, and the last Black Friday/Mayday set from me, prolly ever, so I’m glad I got to end with an equine set! I had to do a lot of pleading and work/revisions to get this set in, I *really* wish I could have removed the lower wings but just kept getting told it was ‘too silver’.  I have plans for the unique for this too, so you’ll have to grab them from the pot if you want them ;) I had more fun with the butterflies than I thought I would!  Psds are 400x400 and breeding friendly, as always! I’d love to see the kinds of offspring you can get breeding these with other oets <3 <3

Ready for Mayday Set Spam? Don’t worry, I didn’t have a lot of sets accepted, so I’m not going to break Tumblr~

Some Mayday sketches I’m waiting to hear back on (fingers crossed....I figured I might as well do what I enjoy, hence why 3/5 sketches are ponyyyyy). I reckon even if they’re rejected I can make most of them as uniques, except maybe the teo pony. Ahaha.   Last three are the most recent GCC tickets I’ve completed! I’m not sure why I keep doing armor lately, it’s not my forte X_X I also like the odlak better without the armor, but it didn’t really fit the prompt as much without the armor, so.  Happy belated Easter! I’ve got a crumb psd that I’ll be tossing in the easter egg field when I think of it. Keep an eye out for the lil bunbun!

Mayday Ideas?

What kind of things do you want to see from me this time around? “Ponies” is a given, yes, but *what kind of ponies* and on what base? Themes/prompts help the creativity flow.  And what else do you want to see? The pirate cats seemed to be liked last year, and the magebuns as well.  Also, is there interest in me selling the Uniques from Black Friday? At the moment I have no plans for them - but I’d be happy to make a little USD because the husband’s birthday is next weekend, and I have no funds. These are the sets I have uniques for: (images below cut because geez tumblr is blowing the images up huge!)

I also based this last time around and it wasn’t accepted, but some folks really liked it. Is there interest in me trying to get the Felinaga Snoodle accepted this time round? I know snoodles aren’t the most popular, but I’m convinced they have so much untapped potential for editing!!

Anyway - please share your thoughts, prompts, and general encouragement - Mayday/Black Friday tends to be generally stressful and discouraging. It’s always hard to see so many people get down on themselves about sets not getting accepted or not selling well, and I’m hoping there won’t be any ugliness this time around.  (FYI, I will be working on finishing owed work BEFORE working on any Mayday sets, no worries. <3)

Fuck I should have jumped ship while the getting was good.

I’m in a bit of a bind right now and it’s all my fault.

Around 2012 or so, I traded most of my Wajas and other site currency for Aywas currency. I managed to amass a fucking fortune, and put it all in the savings account at the bank. I had planned on taking a partial hiatus from the pet game world, and would only log in to collect interest on my BP.   

At the time, this was a logical decision. Aywas’ currency was super valuable thanks to the insane popularity and rapid growth of the site. I thought my fortune was safe and sound.

I was so fucking wrong. 

After a 6-year break, I logged in and saw the site was goddamn dead. I immediately tried trading for other currencies, and it’s IMPOSSIBLE. Absolutely no one wants BP or GP. Not a single soul. I can’t get it to move. Even if I gave it away for free, I don’t think I’d get too many takers. 

WTF Slash? I can’t believe you’ve managed to run what had the potential to be an adult Neopets into the ground in the 6 years I’ve been gone. Jesus fuck, WAJAS is still standing. Let that sink in. Etsuko, Waja’s owner, is a raging tiger, incompetent dumbass. In the 12 years it’s been around, she’s ruined the site’s economy, shadowbanned dissenting users, broken the site not once, but TWICE, gone years between implementing new games and activities, and has all but disappeared for years at a time – It’s only recently that she’s made a return to the site. All this, and the site is still friggin’ profitable and users keep rolling in, despite the seemingly dead forum. If you halve the amount of accounts in half (two account rule), you’ll find that wajas has something to the tune of 150,000+ users. Obviously, that’s also leaving out other factors, and they’re not all active, but that’s still a lot for a site that’s only 3 years older than Aywas.

So, where exactly is everyone at? I’ve found a few new sites, and I’m gonna see if I can pawn my Aywas currency off on someone. So far, it’s like trying to sell HIV. Wish me luck. 

And Slash? I hope Furvilla crashes and burns too.

Has something changed with the GCC feature? In the past I’ve had my prompts claimed rather quickly, and it’s been quite a while my prompts sat unclaimed. Is the feature just less active lately/could my prompt just be bad? I’m hoping it’s more that my prompt isn’t exciting, rather than that the feature is dying cause I really like that feature :o

You can also check to see if the artists you chose are still on the team - a lot have left/quit, I know when I went to sub a ticket there were a lot fewer than there used to be!

Ragdoll Pirate kitty is still in the pot, the only one left of the set! Look at those white toesies! I had a lot of fun coloring that set, it was a real treat to work with kitties. 

And OMG the pegasus oets literally FLEW OUT of the pot! That made me super happy! It gets tricky coming up with new equine sets each time....! I wasn’t sure if people would like the fantasy colorations either, since I usually go for all-natural colors and markings on my equine sets. So I guess they didn’t turn out too badly!!  Four of the griffins are left (including my favorite in the batch, the one with the flame saddle? He’s totally a baddie. Mean snarky exterior, but he’s a softie on the inside. Really, he is!), I hope they find good ‘homes’ :)

FWIW, I define people like that as groupies, or sycophants or fans or followers - but not friends. I’d like to think that friends can tell me honestly if they think something in my art is ugly, or creepy, or uncanny, or the proportions are off. I’d like to think that friends value honesty over kissing up to someone. I’d like to think that friends can offer constructive criticism. I’d like to think I know the difference between groupies and actual friends.

I’d like to think that staff were more tactful...but 1 out of 2 is better than zero.

Black Friday Teo Set: Pegasus Oets - come on guys you HAD to know I’d do a pony set, right???

I knew there would be a lot of pony oet edits, and assumed they’d take the shape of the oet’s body - chunky, perfect for stout little ponies. So I tried to go a different route and opted for a lanky long-legged pegasus. And I am really, really, really freaking happy with this set. That blue one? I want to keep it so much XD

Edits for the unique would probably be redrawn fetlock/hooves and a flowing tail. Will be open for offers sometime tomorrow after I set up a thread. After some hours spent under an electric blanket, hiding from the Evil Onset of Winter. Brrrr! Good night, Aywas!
