So then I thought what if the chorus

symbolizes a cocoon. Where he is able to emerge from. Left his past life behind.

The half-life is the part he already lived (with all what happened all the pain) so now it’s time to throw away his cocoon and live a new part.

Even the part where he says “Go Ahead and wrap your arms around me” makes sense to me. He wasn’t able to leave his past behind without someone else and their protection, help and love. And I don’t mean it in a romantic way.
