HAPPY ZC ANNIVERSARY EVERY PONY
Wow… One whole year! Bijou’s getting so old!
what's the name of the song in the end video?
It’s the same song we used in the roster video - Polyrhythm by Perfume. We just used a different cut!
- Mod Stan
u guys making a sequel to this game?
hiya anon! we’re flattered that you’re curious about that!
as of right now, the plot is set up to allow for a sequel should we have the time to make one -- though, that wouldn’t be until later next year at the earliest! school... this kills the mods... as well some plans for some unrelated things that are taking the front burner right now
we’d love to do something with this setting again when we have the chance, though, so keep an eye open ;3

Finale | The End
Yoichi and Hitomi exchange glances once more, this time offering one another small smiles. You can see their shared sense of relief. Almost immediately, they turn to you again. Now that they’re done explaining, you can see they’re anxious to get going.
“We’ll talk more when we’re gone. We need to leave before those despair creeps decide to crash the after party.”
Yoichi nods in agreement, and motions for you to quickly make your way inside the two helicopters; four of you with him, and the other four with Hitomi. Once you’re all sitting safe and secured, he gestures at the pilots of his and Hitomi’s helicopters. Soon enough, you’ve lifted off the ground and are flying over the carnival -- and towards your new lives.
Someone once said that where there’s life, there’s hope. You have no quarrel with that, but the reverse is also true.
There is hope, so you will continue to live.
The end. Thank you for playing!
Insert Appropriately Emo Title Here || Kasumi || RE: Endgame
Kasumi hesitated, listening carefully to what others were saying. Were they all actually going to help these pricks? She couldn’t help but let out a scoff at the thought. She turned to Kohaku, making sure to shoot them the most disgusted look she could muster as she spoke.
“Why…? Why couldn’t that be an option? Why can’t we just run off with my stupid trust fund and ignore all of these people? Do you think we owe them? We don’t owe them anything. They let us suffer here for weeks. They watched as we killed someone. They… They watched as I killed someone. Oh my god, my grandmother watched me kill someone... You may think that a legal pardon makes this all okay, but it doesn’t. For me… Even if I don’t end up in prison or worse paying for that, there will always be people who will remember what I did… There’s always going to be someone, probably all of you, who will see me, and, even though we’re all going to keep acting like it’s fine, we know what you’re still thinking about when you see me. ‘What if I’m next? What if she snaps and kills me?’ I’m not an idiot.” The girl sighed, wrapping her arms around herself and turning away from the rest of them. Still, despite what she had just said, she couldn’t actually see herself living a normal life at home anymore whether it was possible to or not. She could blame all of them for judging her for what she did, but, in all honesty, the more people that started to forgive her for what she did, the worse she felt for doing it. For acting like it had all been okay. “Still… Having said, there’s absolutely no way that I could go back to a normal life like that… I’d much rather be safe and in your protection than out on the streets attempting to prove a point to all of you. So, fuck it, I’ll help you, if only to keep myself safe. That, and I wouldn’t want to lose the wonderful banter my darling and I share. That’d just be awful…” Although she attempted to joke, tears pricked at the corner of her eyes at the thought. Despite the tears, though, she laughed through her next statement.
"So, ha, take that! Looks like you guys are stuck with me!"
Out of the cage and into the jungle | Endgame | Kazuo | Re: Execution and Decision
That was one way for Seiichi to go out... Honestly, Kazuo didn't really give much of a shit when it happened, why? Well, he was still incredibly pissed off about the situation... Sure, there was a hint of sadness in the situation, the thought of what could have happened if he came to terms with what he did was on his mind... But it wasn't enough to make Kazuo change his mind about the situation.
Nonetheless, alongside everyone else he made his way to the exit... Truthfully, he was happy about that part of this all, it was an escape from the cage that they were all trapped in. So this was how it felt to get out of a cage, huh? Excitement, but a mix of fear and uncertainty as he walked out the doors to their freedom... It felt nice, honestly, for once Kazuo's expression shifted from his normal scowl into an honest smile, one that he felt fit the situation at hand... They were free, they could all go home and forget about the entire situation... God that would have been nice, until the two assholes showed up telling them otherwise.
As they spoke, and everyone else gave their comments... Kazuo's smile shifted back into his scowl... Listening to every single word they were saying just added some anger to Kazuo... Why? Well there was one obvious reason that was pissing him off more-so than anything else.
"--You took your fucking damn time you pieces of shit, you can apologize about that shit as much as you fucking want, but that doesn't change the fact that people fucking died because of your incompetent asses trying to find this bullshit excuse of a carnival. Couldn't you have tracked the signal or some shit?! Isn't that what people with technology and all that bullshit can do?! Go fuck yourselves."
He was tempted to turn away, to leave in an instant and leave them with that comment... It pissed him off that they knew this was happening... That everyone knew it was happening, then they just let them go around killing one-another... But, as he thought about it further, he placed his hands in his pockets scoffing a bit.
"I'll help, though. I did have some shit I need to do and dealing with this bullshit could very well help me deal with that... I promised myself that I'd kick the shit out of Sakurano's sister, and I want to find my mom out there, if she's dealing with this bullshit I'd be a fucking horrible son for letting her deal with more shit... So yeah, I'm in."
Without much hesitation, the Zoologist placed his hands in his pockets, scoffing a bit as he turned his gaze toward his classmates... Deciding to try to be more friendly for now, it was a good enough approach since they just got out of that cage now, right?
"We fucking got out of that shithole, so it shouldn't be too hard to beat the shit out of those assholes to make them realize they're fucking idiots, right? Let's get this shit done."
This is some anime shit right here | Haruka | Endgame | RE: Execution Reaction, Decision
It was almost anticlimatic how the end of the mutual killing game played out - nothing about Seiichi’s execution was as morbid or grande as one would expect from the mastermind. All it took was a bomb to end his life and the only indication of that ever happening was the smoke that ascended up to the heavens.
Fortunately for the survivors, he’d been kind enough to tell them how to escape this hellhole. Thus, Haruka wasted no time in getting to the Shimizu twin’s room, before making her way to the entrance with the others. As they finally stepped outside of the place where they’ve been imprisoned for a month, Haruka actually took a deep breath - sure, the air was technically the same as inside the amusement park, but she guessed that there was something akin to... well, freedom up in the air as well.
However, that relief didn’t last for long, because moments later, two helicopters landed near them and they brought pretty bad news with them; they might’ve gotten out of the mutual killing game, but Japan has gone to shit in their absence and the whole world is slowly following its path to oblivion - not to mention the copycat games that were starting to spring up like mushrooms.
Lovely.
However, it also seemed like as if their actions had brought hope to the world - and in this very moment, Haruka simply stared at the other Okamoto with a face that could be just described as ‘You’re joking, right?’
(How low did the standards sink that talking about revenge and not giving a fuck about someone were perceived as ‘hope’?)
And then, they were presented with a dilemma - help Hope’s Peak to fight against the terrorists or search for their loved ones, even though their safety isn’t guaranteed?
... Right about now, Haruka was getting some serious flashbacks to all the games and shows she’d consumed which had hopeful open ends; the kind of endings that leave room for sequels to come, that tell you to continue to fight for another day, even if the current situation looks grim.
It also didn’t help that the responses to the dilemma at hand fit perfectly into the whole formula to begin with. She expected something cheesy out of Goro, because he just was that kind of dork. Viktor was a bit of an oddball as well, so his shounen-y esque answer wasn’t that far-fetched either. She barely knew Kiyoko, but it was still surreal as hell to listen to her rant so loudly - and then came Kohaku and Yuuya, who were also aboard the ‘save the world’ train. Did she accidentally land in some kind of alternative dimension when she left the carnival behind her?
(Not to mention that they were even pardoned for the bullshit they pulled during the mutual killing game - are you fucking kidding her?!)
Haruka was questioning her life choices just about now.
With a heavy sigh, the slackliner scratched her head, the other hand being positioned against her hip. At last, she spoke up after all the other responses that were given to the teachers.
“Let’s be real, both options sound like a major pain in the ass. If I help you, then it means I’ll have to invest a fuckton of energy in taking these Despair fuckers down. Sure, if we succeed, it means we can eventually go back to the way we lived before, but that will take a loooong time...”
Her hand fell down to her side.
“However, if I solely look around for my family without knowing if they’re okay, then I’ll wind up with nothing to protect myself. And knowing me, I’ll die pretty fast in an anarchy, because I don’t want to constantly watch my hide when I take a goddamn nap.”
Honestly, Haruka would be completely fine to just lay down here and take a nap now, just to avoid all this troublesome situation. But sometimes, life just doesn’t let you skip out of the sheer bullshit that it throws towards your way, so might as well roll with it and only put the perfect amount of energy to not fucking die.
“So instead, I’d rather make a new deal with you - ‘cause I definitely want to look for my family, but I don’t need to stay with them. If I know they’re safe, then fuck it, I’ll join your cause. I want a piece of these despair fuckers. No one walks away if they’ve robbed me of my sleep plenty of times. And... well, in case my family is dead, then I have even more reason to fuck them up. I stand by my words about revenge.”
“So, we have a deal or not?”
Brave Shine || Kiyoko || [E N D G A M E]
[That sweet, sweet mood music]
As quickly as this mutual killing life began, it ended just as swiftly.
The month that had passed, filled with Kiyoko getting to know her classmates (again), watching them murder each other, going through class trials, witnessing gruesome executions, wondering who was going to be targeted next, who was going to die next— it was finally coming to a close. But with this chapter closing, another one opened. The world outside Zetsubou Carnival has fallen into chaos; that damned Super High School Despair terrorist group has brought Japan to shambles and to its knees, and it seems that their influence has started to spread all over the world. And copycat mutual killing games?
This really was a despair inducing situation.
Kiyoko's thoughts drifted briefly to their 'game' being televised. Luckily, she didn't have to worry if her mother or father watched the chaos that ensued. After all, one is dead and the other has already left her behind a long time ago. But . . . her cousin was still out there, somewhere, possibly dead or possibly caught up in one of those copycat games. All she can do for now is believe in him and pray that he was alive and well somewhere.
Her thoughts came back to the decision laid out before her, whether or not to accept the invitation to fight back against the Super High School Level Despair.
To her, the choice should be obvious, but . . .
She was hesitant.
How could she protect and save others out in the world when she couldn't protect those dear to her while she was still trapped in the carnival? Kiyoko knew that she promised herself that she would accept anything and everything that was outside the confines of the carnival, but it was hard. It was hard to suddenly try and change her disposition. It was hard feeling weak and helpless all the time. It was hard to try and put on a brave face all the time, and whoops, putting on a whole new face altogether.
She was scared.
The world out there wasn't kind, and especially not now. Kiyoko has had her fair share of being beaten down in all kinds of ways, but that didn't mean she could withstand being punched around. It didn't mean she was ready to see the graphic imagery whatever may be out in Japan. Possibly destroyed cities. Possibly people crying out for help and no one there to help them.
But ... she still knew what her answer was going to be.
Kiyoko glanced around at the faces of her remaining classmates and brought her clasped hands close to her chest. She wanted nothing more than to keep all (or most) of these people safe. It didn't matter if she was close to them or not; they've all been through the same serious shit and deserve some compassion. And a break.
And there's people out there who need help, too.
So how could she possibly ignore helping others out there who were just like her?
She took a few moments to turn around and give one last look to the carnival they were leaving behind.
"..."
It was a celebration of freedom for her. Even if she was feeling scared, she still could revel in the fact that she's free. And even though she lost people important to her in this game, the fact she was able to spend time with them at all was the greatest gift. No otome game could ever give her the emotional connections she felt while she was here. There's a lot she didn't get to do, but there was still enough that she did get to do.
Kiyoko turned back around and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, glancing around at her classmates once more. The memories she built with these people, the living and the dead, were sure to stay, this time for sure.
Kiyoko then pulled out the class photo and drawing she had in her skirt pocket and looked over them and smiled.
Hope still existed in her.
She looked to Hattori and Yoichi, ready to give her answer and get the hell out of this place.
Kiyoko had a lot to do and jellyfish to see.
"Of course I'm going to help you guys! Super High School Level Despair or whatever.. we'll take them down somehow and kick their sorry asses!"
She smiled wider this time and swung one of her arms high up into the air, fist bumping at the sky and hopping up and down.
"Let's give it all we got!"
As she cheered out her last sentence, and ceased hopping, she glanced up to the sky, her smile noticeably smaller, but still warm.
Pride be damned— She didn't want to leave this place with any regrets. It probably wasn't too late for her to scream out what she wanted to say, what she should have said while she still had the chance. Maybe if she yelled without abandon, her words and her feelings would get across somehow.
Let's hope everyone wouldn't get too spooked from her sudden outburst.
"Hey, Kiyoshi, you ass for dying! Leaving us here to defend Japan all by ourselves! Whose gonna spray paint cool graffiti promoting the downfall of those Super High School Level Despair nerds all over the walls now? Or keep me laughing with lame jokes? Or come to the beach with me to see the jellyfish and bury each other in sand?
I oughta thwack you on the head!
...
You can bet that when I can see you again, I'm gonna give you an earful! You better get ready!
She then brought her arm down to cover her eyes, taking a deep breath. Kiyoko was still smiling, even if she had to force herself to.
A pause.
...
Had she always felt this choked up?
Had she been shaking since she started talking?
--
Had tears always felt this warm?
"If you can somehow see me from that great beyond... please watch over me, okay?"
Adios | Yuuya | end game
It still wasn’t over.
The carnival had been but a prelude to a greater disaster. Relief came briefly, but was stifled when confronted with the harsh reality that had befallen the world. The government had been overthrown, mutual killing games have been spawning all over, anarchy now threatens the country- all over the month they had been imprisoned. Yuuya, first and foremost, thought of his mother. A glimpse of concern caught his expression. There was no guarantee she was safe.
Now, he was presented with a choice. The choice between going home and helping them tear down this organization built on despair. For Yuuya, it was hardly a dilemma. To eradicate an invasion of pests, you have to target its nest. The longer this organization holds power, the worse the nation will become.
That, and Yuuya could not ignore his own personal need to challenge the root of their misfortune, the organization that wiped their memories and pinned them against each other.
Yuuya had the unsettling premonition that the memory of this game will only become more and more distressing as time goes on- as he and everyone else regains their memories of the lives they’ve forgotten. Considering he must have willingly agreed to attend this trip with them, he must have gotten along with them. He must have considered some of them friends. Those deaths he felt nothing over, will his neutral or negative perception change with these memories?
It left Yuuya with a bitter taste. And he has someone to blame.
“I don’t know what you expect us to do. If you want us to stand around and fuel society’s hope like figureheads, or actively assist in removing that organization’s power…”
“But I’ll do what I can, if you’ll have me.”
Yuuya briefly glanced at those who remained. Goro, Kazuo, Kohaku, Kasumi, Haruka, Viktor, and Kiyoko. Among everyone of the main course class, Yuuya felt the slightest bit grateful they were the ones leaving with him. Maybe, just maybe, the world would seem a little bit worse if something happened to one of them.
Making Things Right || Kohaku || Endgame || RE: Decision
Finally, at long last, it was all over. With the metal shutter opening at long last, everyone was finally free of this messed up carnival. The sight of the parking lot was a breath of fresh air, quite literally. The quietness was almost relaxing... Had it not been for the helicopters that soon landed. Raising an eyebrow curiously, Kohaku tapped their chin lightly as they watched it land. Huh. That sure was fast. Guess it really was being broadcasted if they knew that everything was finally over.
As they helicopters landed and two people stepped out their eyes widened in surprise. While one of them was a stranger Kohaku, unfortunately, recognized the other. Of all the people Kohaku expected to show up the husband of their dead teacher sure wasn't one of them.
Especially when they stole his dead husband's wedding ring just weeks priors.
Whoooops.
Awkwardness aside, and resisting the urge to throw the ring into the ocean, Kohaku casually shuffled his way to the back of the group as the as the two began to speak. Listening to them both explain what's been going on was... Shocking to say the least. While they certainly didn't let out any surprised gasps, Kohaku's eyes did widen ever so slightly. The entire government was in shambles? The entire country? They almost couldn't believe it at first. Had all of this truly happened in such a short time? Kohaku let out a bitter laugh. It was almost sad to thinking about. Their school memories, their previous friendships, their futures... All of that was taken away so easily thanks to a bunch of fucked up terrorists.
Kohaku supposed the only blessing here is that they weren't in any legal trouble anymore for the things they've done.
And now, they were finally presented with a choice. Join them and help stop the Super High School Level Despair or... Well, going back to their family was never an option for Kohaku. Not anymore at least. Even if in the slim chance that they could be located there wasn't anyone for them to return to. Not when the only people left either didn't acknowledge them or simply saw them as a burden. And after the whole mutual killing game, well, Kohaku could only assume their opinions of them got worse. If they were still around that is.
"Well... If everything's gone to absolute shit then I'm probably out of a job now. Though even if the country hadn't gotten so messed up I probably would've gotten fired either way I suppose. Everything I've worked towards ruined... What a shame."
Scratching the back of their head, Kohaku sighed. This certainly ruined their plans. As much as they used to tell themselves that their whole reason for getting out of here was to settle unfinished business, to finally confront their father... It seemed like they were never going to get that opportunity anymore. The whole reason they even became a lawyer in the first place was the chance at getting to confront their father, but if everything had gone to absolute hell then they could kiss that opportunity goodbye.
For moment, Kohaku actually felt unsure of themselves. Almost hopeless in a sense. Just what were they suppose to do now that everything was ruined?
"I'll be straight with you. I've done a lot of awful things in my life, and I mean a lot. Stealing, lying, helping people get away with murder... More than once. You get the idea, the list goes on and on. And as much as I would like to ditch you all to run off with Mizui-san and her giant trust fund it's just simply not an option anymore. The world is in shambles, I'm out of a job, and I don't exactly have anyone to return to. It's quite sad really."
They laughed rather bitterly before continuing on.
"But despite all of that... Even after everything that's been done and taken away from us I was never one to give up on something so easily. I would hope the same goes for all of you as well. Even if it's not entirely ideal... If I can at least put my talents to good use and make the assholes who started all of this in the first place pay for what they've done to us, to everyone... Then that'd be good enough for me. So I've made my decision. I'll gladly join you and help fight against the Super High School Level Despair."
Kohaku was, if anything, a very spite driven individual. But even so, they thought this was the best decision. Even if everything had been ripped away from them; their job, their life, their one goal that they've had for years... Despite it being all taken away Kohaku could at least at least try to makes things right. Even if most people here disliked them in the end, Kohaku could still set themselves on a new path for both a better life and beginning.
"After everything I've done it's the least I can do~ I'm not sure if I believe in anything like redemption but it's a step in the right direction at least... Plus I can really only go back to living a comfortable life after the world is saved! So~!"
Clasping their hands together, Kohaku smiled. For once not mischievous or sly, but an honest down to earth smile.
"Let's try our best, shall we?"
save your breath, it's far from over. | viktor | endgame
It was over.
It was hard for Viktor to process, but it was finally over. With the death of Seiichi Shimizu, they would be allowed to go free. As Seiichi and the other survivors had talked, Viktor had just watched. He knew his words would somehow only make the matter worse, so he had elected not to speak whatsoever. He didn't even flinch as Seiichi blew himself up. It's funny what the executions could desensitize a person to, after all.
He followed without a word as the code was put in, and again as they left. He was still trying to process the whole thing, to be honest. The other seven... they'd all been through so much, yet Viktor couldn't say he felt particularly attached to most of them. It was unfortunate, but what could you do? Especially considering that he had fucked up big time.
Freedom.... it was in the palm of his hands, but yet did he really deserve this? After everything, why was it him who got to leave?
As they left, and Hitomi and Yoichi described the situation to them all, Viktor listened intently. The world was going to hell, and the killer carnival had started it all. Super High School Level Despair... Viktor still thought that the whole concept was stupid. Chaos and anarchy, for what seemed to be the sake of chaos and anarchy...? Viktor couldn't wrap his head around it.
And then came the big-money question. Would Viktor join them in defeating despair, or go home to parents that may or may not even be alive? As much as the second option appealed to him, he wasn't sure if he could. With the position he was in, it simply made more sense for him to aid in the defeat of SHSL Despair. And besides, this was his chance to do something right to make up for... whatever it was he did back then.
"......"
As he contemplated his actions, he thought back to the people he had gotten close to throughout the course of the killing game. Nariko Hariko, who he hadn't expected to get close to, and who was unfairly taken. Hatsuna Hitsukawa, who had killed two people, and who Viktor had grown a bit attached to. And Goro Nakada, a fellow survivor, and one who had elected to aid in the fight. What would they want him to do? He felt like he was living not just for himself anymore, but rather for the people who died in the game, and for his parents in the off chance he would never see them again.
After a while, the boy spoke - soft as ever, but firm in his words.
"I'll join you. There's too much at risk for me to do nothing."
After all, they always said home is where your heart is. And as long as Viktor had something to devote himself to, that would be his home. He brought his hand to his chest, tearing up a bit. He murmured something under his breath in English.
<Mom, dad - Nariko, Hatsuna. I'm going to make you all proud. I won't blow this chance to redeem myself. I promise.>
And with that, he fell silent.
He didn't know what the future would bring, but he knew one thing for certain. He couldn't blow this chance, he'd never forgive himself if he did. And besides...
His story was far from over.
For A Better Tomorrow || Goro || Endgame || The Answer is...
It had been over a month since Goro Nakada woke up on the cold ground outside Zetsubou Carnival. Over that period of time, he watched eleven people die; ten of which were classmates that he had once been friends with and had forgotten. The other was the only teacher who ever believed in him.
...Five brutal murders
...Five deadly class trials
...Five sadistic executions.
It was all a flurry of emotions condensed into a short period of time. Love, loss, acceptance and denial; many experiences that Goro had hoped he would never have to come across. Yet, here he was, standing outside the once pastel colored prison that he had been trapped in all of this time.
And he wasn't alone. He stood with seven other impressive people who proved themselves to be more than just a talent or a title. Sure, there had been many bumps in the road, things happening that may be unforgivable. However, at the end of the day, these were Goro's classmates and in what appeared to be a world filled with chaos and despair; they were the closest thing he had to a group of friends.
It was difficult to be standing before two people who had once been his teachers, one of which had recently lost a spouse. Despite this they both stood there with a front of strength, offering to help them get out of here.
And now they were presented with a choice. Do they return to their families who may not even be guaranteed to be safe?
Or do they help Yoichi Okamoto and Hitomi Hattori put a stop to the Super High School Level Despair once and for all?
Faced with these options, Goro took that moment to step forward, looking down at the ground slightly and pushing his hands into his pockets. He spoke to the teachers directly.
"So things are really messed up huh? Gh... Damn it... I hate the fact that these jerks used us as a way to cause so much damage. And... you're saying that there is no way to assure that our friends and family are safe?"
Goro's lip began to tremble and his voice wavered as he thought about the well being of his mother. Dark thoughts worked their way into his head- what if Takumi and Izumi had been put into one of these copycat killing games? He shook his head, trying to dispel the thought. He pulled one hand out of his pocket and balled it into a fist. This wasn't the time to be wallowing in self pity and doubt. These people needed help! He had to stay positive!
...
Goro finally opened his eyes, meeting the gaze of Yoichi and Hitomi. He couldn't make the decision for anyone else, but he knew exactly what he was going to say. For the first time in a while, a genuine smile made it's way onto the Sumo's face.
"Look, I'm not gonna lie and say that what happened here at the Carnival hasn't left me feeling doubtful, or hopeless. After all, we saw so much death and suffering... Everyone who died here, I'm never gonna forget them, ever. After all, at one point in my life, they were my friends."
He paused, looking back at his fellow survivors.
"Even though it seems like the world has gone to shit, I wasn't raised to be a quitter. I'm not gonna give up on my mom, Takumi-chan or Izumi-chan! And I definitely ain't gonna give up on anyone who needs help out there. I may not be the smartest, or the most tactful person ever, but if there's something I can do to help I'm gonna do it. That's why I've decided to help you guys fight against the Super High School Level Despair."
With one of his hands still in his pocket, Goro felt the cold plastic of something that he had forgotten for what felt like forever. A coy grin slipped onto his face as for the first time since his first week at the carnival, Goro pulled out his sunglasses with one fluid motion and pushed them onto his face.
"So uh... I guess we got a world to save, huh teach?"
Goro was uncertain whether he would be heading on this adventure with any of the other survivors. After all, it was up to them to make their own decision. However, Goro's was set in stone with one sole reason for staying positive...
... For a better tomorrow.
A Whole New World | Endgame
“...Just after your class went missing, a terrorist group called Super High School Level Despair mounted an attack against the Japanese government. They were... successful. The Prime Minister has gone into hiding, and the rest of the government is in shambles. They’ve imposed a system of anarchy. In order to keep the people from banding together against them, they broadcast the Zetsubou Carnival Mutual Killing Game. Seeing the children who were supposed to be the hopes for their nation’s future killing each other... it was supposed to break morale. And it worked, somewhat.”
“Your game was the first to start, but after it did, messier copycat versions started popping up both nationally and even internationally. They haven’t received the same kind of attention as yours, but... It's been enough to screw everything up even worse.”
“After the country effectively went to shit, Hope’s Peak was shut down. The staff, alumni, and students who chose to remain began working with what little remained of the government to stop the mutual killings. Believe it or not, yours comes the closest to a happy ending in comparison to the rest.”
“Right now, hope is our greatest weapon. When you convinced Seiichi Shimizu not to blow up the carnival, you proved to the world that Super High School Level Despair can be beaten. We’ve already received reports of protests being organized around Japan, all because of you.”

Not that I can make any promises about how they’re doing right now. Whether or not you help us is up to you. For what it’s worth, we’ve made arrangements to keep any of you from being legally held accountable for what happened here.”
