Had some business to take care of in Antiva, do forgive my short absence.
Now..who would like one of my Antivan massages?
He stepped silently into the room, twirling the dagger in his hand as he moved behind the mage. She paused, sitting silently as he brought the blade to her throat. As he dragged it across her pale skin, he noticed that she did not once cry out or struggle. She had excepted her death.
The Crows Send Their Regards: He hated being assigned mages. The thought that they could set him...
Alann hated being assigned night guard duty in the Circle. Though he had a very persistent knack for being an insomniac, the night shift was not any more welcoming. The monotony of patrolling the empty, dimly lit halls would be enough to cure his insomnia had he not been wearing armor and carrying a sword.
He sighed to himself and decided to take a seat against a wall. He would be able to hear anybody if they tried to escape the Circle. As he sat down, however, he saw that there was a room with a small candle lit inside, the door slightly ajar. Curious thought Alann as he began walking toward the room.
He barely saw a shadow of a man slip into the room, his entire being flickering with the candle. Alann wasn't even sure what he saw was real, but he couldn't have people sneaking around on his watch. He walked briskly over to the room and called toward it, "I hope I didn't just see someone sneaking into that room! You know there isn't any fraternization allowed in here!"
As he looked into the room, however, all he saw was the bloody body of a mage sitting in a chair. Alann froze. Drawing his sword slowly, he walked into the room and shut the door quietly behind him. He spoke softly, a new authority entering his voice, "Come out quietly, or I shall be forced to take action."
The stern Templar voice froze Zevran in his tracks, the Antivan's hand gripping his dagger slowly. Braska, had he really been so careless? He was losing his touch if he allowed the templar to discover his presence. He kept to the shadows, turning around to study the man. He was attractive, Zevran would give him that; Far more handsome than many other templars he had met in his life. The candlelight cast him in a warm glow as he looked around the room and shut the door. This would be difficult to escape from without causing another death.
Zevran silently moved to the left towards the door, keeping his eyes locked on the human. He had to keep his dagger close at his side, afraid that the light from the candle would reflect and give away his position. His foot hit a pile of the targets books, knocking one into the light. Zevran froze, his heart pounding as he tried to back up against the wall.
He hated being assigned mages. The thought that they could set him ablaze faster than any normal man could attempt an attack. But that is why he was chosen he supposed. He was not a normal man.
Zevran jumped through the window, landing gracefully in one of the Circle's small storage rooms. He paused, tilting his head to listen for movement as he pulled one of his daggers out. Good, no one had been nearby to hear him. He slipped out into the dark corridors, making his way a room in the far back, the only one where the faint glow of candlelight could be seen. He took a deep breath as he neared the door, being sure to stay in the shadows as he looked at the back of his target.
She was a pretty human, red hair pulled back in a ponytail that brushed over blue robes. She was hunched over a desk, furiously scribbling something on a piece of parchment. Zevran frowned as the sleeve of her robe fell back, small scars on her arms visible. A blood mage then? He needed to finish the job quickly then.
He stepped silently into the room, twirling the dagger in his hand as he moved behind the mage. She paused, sitting silently as he brought the blade to her throat. As he dragged it across her pale skin, he noticed that she did not once cry out or struggle. She had excepted her death.
